اِذْ يُغَشِّيْكُمُ النُّعَاسَ اَمَنَةً مِّنْهُ وَيُنَزِّلُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِّنَ السَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءً لِّيُطَهِّرَكُمْ بِهٖ وَيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمْ رِجْزَ الشَّيْطٰنِ وَلِيَرْبِطَ عَلٰى قُلُوْبِكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتَ بِهِ الْاَقْدَامَۗ ١١
- idh
- إِذْ
- When
- yughashīkumu
- يُغَشِّيكُمُ
- He covered you
- l-nuʿāsa
- ٱلنُّعَاسَ
- with [the] slumber
- amanatan
- أَمَنَةً
- a security
- min'hu
- مِّنْهُ
- from Him
- wayunazzilu
- وَيُنَزِّلُ
- and sent down
- ʿalaykum
- عَلَيْكُم
- upon you
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- l-samāi
- ٱلسَّمَآءِ
- the sky
- māan
- مَآءً
- water
- liyuṭahhirakum
- لِّيُطَهِّرَكُم
- so that He may purify you
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- with it
- wayudh'hiba
- وَيُذْهِبَ
- and take away
- ʿankum
- عَنكُمْ
- from you
- rij'za
- رِجْزَ
- evil (suggestions)
- l-shayṭāni
- ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ
- (of) the Shaitaan
- waliyarbiṭa
- وَلِيَرْبِطَ
- And to strengthen
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- [on]
- qulūbikum
- قُلُوبِكُمْ
- your hearts
- wayuthabbita
- وَيُثَبِّتَ
- and make firm
- bihi
- بِهِ
- with it
- l-aqdāma
- ٱلْأَقْدَامَ
- your feet
[Remember] when He overwhelmed you with drowsiness [giving] security from Him and sent down upon you from the sky, rain by which to purify you and remove from you the evil [suggestions] of Satan and to make steadfast your hearts and plant firmly thereby your feet. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 11)Tafsir
اِذْ يُوْحِيْ رَبُّكَ اِلَى الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةِ اَنِّيْ مَعَكُمْ فَثَبِّتُوا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْاۗ سَاُلْقِيْ فِيْ قُلُوْبِ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا الرُّعْبَ فَاضْرِبُوْا فَوْقَ الْاَعْنَاقِ وَاضْرِبُوْا مِنْهُمْ كُلَّ بَنَانٍۗ ١٢
- idh
- إِذْ
- When
- yūḥī
- يُوحِى
- inspired
- rabbuka
- رَبُّكَ
- your Lord
- ilā
- إِلَى
- to
- l-malāikati
- ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
- the Angels
- annī
- أَنِّى
- "I am
- maʿakum
- مَعَكُمْ
- with you
- fathabbitū
- فَثَبِّتُوا۟
- so strengthen
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟ۚ
- believed
- sa-ul'qī
- سَأُلْقِى
- I will cast
- fī
- فِى
- in
- qulūbi
- قُلُوبِ
- (the) hearts
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (of) those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved -
- l-ruʿ'ba
- ٱلرُّعْبَ
- the terror
- fa-iḍ'ribū
- فَٱضْرِبُوا۟
- so strike
- fawqa
- فَوْقَ
- above
- l-aʿnāqi
- ٱلْأَعْنَاقِ
- the necks
- wa-iḍ'ribū
- وَٱضْرِبُوا۟
- and strike
- min'hum
- مِنْهُمْ
- from them
- kulla
- كُلَّ
- every
- banānin
- بَنَانٍ
- fingertip[s]"
[Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, "I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip." (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 12)Tafsir
ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ شَاۤقُّوا اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗۚ وَمَنْ يُّشَاقِقِ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ شَدِيْدُ الْعِقَابِ ١٣
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- That
- bi-annahum
- بِأَنَّهُمْ
- (is) because they
- shāqqū
- شَآقُّوا۟
- opposed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- warasūlahu
- وَرَسُولَهُۥۚ
- and His Messenger
- waman
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- yushāqiqi
- يُشَاقِقِ
- opposes
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- warasūlahu
- وَرَسُولَهُۥ
- and His Messenger
- fa-inna
- فَإِنَّ
- then indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- shadīdu
- شَدِيدُ
- (is) severe
- l-ʿiqābi
- ٱلْعِقَابِ
- in [the] penalty
That is because they opposed Allah and His Messenger. And whoever opposes Allah and His Messenger – indeed, Allah is severe in penalty. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 13)Tafsir
ذٰلِكُمْ فَذُوْقُوْهُ وَاَنَّ لِلْكٰفِرِيْنَ عَذَابَ النَّارِ ١٤
- dhālikum
- ذَٰلِكُمْ
- That -
- fadhūqūhu
- فَذُوقُوهُ
- "So taste it"
- wa-anna
- وَأَنَّ
- And that
- lil'kāfirīna
- لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ
- for the disbelievers
- ʿadhāba
- عَذَابَ
- (is the) punishment
- l-nāri
- ٱلنَّارِ
- (of) the Fire
"That [is yours], so taste it." And indeed for the disbelievers is the punishment of the Fire. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 14)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْٓا اِذَا لَقِيْتُمُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا زَحْفًا فَلَا تُوَلُّوْهُمُ الْاَدْبَارَۚ ١٥
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you!
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- who!
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوٓا۟
- believe!
- idhā
- إِذَا
- When
- laqītumu
- لَقِيتُمُ
- you meet
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieve
- zaḥfan
- زَحْفًا
- advancing
- falā
- فَلَا
- then (do) not
- tuwallūhumu
- تُوَلُّوهُمُ
- turn to them
- l-adbāra
- ٱلْأَدْبَارَ
- the backs
O you who have believed, when you meet those who disbelieve advancing [in battle], do not turn to them your backs [in flight]. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 15)Tafsir
وَمَنْ يُّوَلِّهِمْ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ دُبُرَهٗٓ اِلَّا مُتَحَرِّفًا لِّقِتَالٍ اَوْ مُتَحَيِّزًا اِلٰى فِئَةٍ فَقَدْ بَاۤءَ بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَمَأْوٰىهُ جَهَنَّمُ ۗ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيْرُ ١٦
- waman
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- yuwallihim
- يُوَلِّهِمْ
- turns to them
- yawma-idhin
- يَوْمَئِذٍ
- that day
- duburahu
- دُبُرَهُۥٓ
- his back
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- mutaḥarrifan
- مُتَحَرِّفًا
- (as) a strategy
- liqitālin
- لِّقِتَالٍ
- of war
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- mutaḥayyizan
- مُتَحَيِّزًا
- (to) join
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- fi-atin
- فِئَةٍ
- a group
- faqad
- فَقَدْ
- certainly
- bāa
- بَآءَ
- (he has) incurred
- bighaḍabin
- بِغَضَبٍ
- wrath
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- wamawāhu
- وَمَأْوَىٰهُ
- and his abode
- jahannamu
- جَهَنَّمُۖ
- (is) Hell
- wabi'sa
- وَبِئْسَ
- a wretched
- l-maṣīru
- ٱلْمَصِيرُ
- destination
And whoever turns his back to them on such a day, unless swerving [as a strategy] for war or joining [another] company, has certainly returned with anger [upon him] from Allah, and his refuge is Hell – and wretched is the destination. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 16)Tafsir
فَلَمْ تَقْتُلُوْهُمْ وَلٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ قَتَلَهُمْۖ وَمَا رَمَيْتَ اِذْ رَمَيْتَ وَلٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ رَمٰىۚ وَلِيُبْلِيَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ مِنْهُ بَلَاۤءً حَسَنًاۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ سَمِيْعٌ عَلِيْمٌ ١٧
- falam
- فَلَمْ
- And not
- taqtulūhum
- تَقْتُلُوهُمْ
- you kill them
- walākinna
- وَلَٰكِنَّ
- but
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- qatalahum
- قَتَلَهُمْۚ
- killed them
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- ramayta
- رَمَيْتَ
- you threw
- idh
- إِذْ
- when
- ramayta
- رَمَيْتَ
- you threw
- walākinna
- وَلَٰكِنَّ
- but
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- ramā
- رَمَىٰۚ
- threw
- waliyub'liya
- وَلِيُبْلِىَ
- and that He may test
- l-mu'minīna
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- the believers
- min'hu
- مِنْهُ
- from Him
- balāan
- بَلَآءً
- (with) a trial
- ḥasanan
- حَسَنًاۚ
- good
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- samīʿun
- سَمِيعٌ
- (is) All-Hearing
- ʿalīmun
- عَلِيمٌ
- All-Knowing
And you did not kill them, but it was Allah who killed them. And you threw not, [O Muhammad], when you threw, but it was Allah who threw that He might test the believers with a good test. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 17)Tafsir
ذٰلِكُمْ وَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ مُوْهِنُ كَيْدِ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ ١٨
- dhālikum
- ذَٰلِكُمْ
- That (is the case)
- wa-anna
- وَأَنَّ
- and that
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah (is)
- mūhinu
- مُوهِنُ
- one who makes weak
- kaydi
- كَيْدِ
- (the) plan
- l-kāfirīna
- ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
- (of) the disbelievers
That [is so], and [also] that Allah will weaken the plot of the disbelievers. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 18)Tafsir
اِنْ تَسْتَفْتِحُوْا فَقَدْ جَاۤءَكُمُ الْفَتْحُۚ وَاِنْ تَنْتَهُوْا فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْۚ وَاِنْ تَعُوْدُوْا نَعُدْۚ وَلَنْ تُغْنِيَ عَنْكُمْ فِئَتُكُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَّلَوْ كَثُرَتْۙ وَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ مَعَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ࣖ ١٩
- in
- إِن
- If
- tastaftiḥū
- تَسْتَفْتِحُوا۟
- you ask for victory
- faqad
- فَقَدْ
- then certainly
- jāakumu
- جَآءَكُمُ
- has come to you
- l-fatḥu
- ٱلْفَتْحُۖ
- the victory
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- And if
- tantahū
- تَنتَهُوا۟
- you desist
- fahuwa
- فَهُوَ
- then it (is)
- khayrun
- خَيْرٌ
- good
- lakum
- لَّكُمْۖ
- for you
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- but if
- taʿūdū
- تَعُودُوا۟
- you return
- naʿud
- نَعُدْ
- We will return (too)
- walan
- وَلَن
- And never
- tugh'niya
- تُغْنِىَ
- will avail
- ʿankum
- عَنكُمْ
- you
- fi-atukum
- فِئَتُكُمْ
- your forces
- shayan
- شَيْـًٔا
- anything
- walaw
- وَلَوْ
- even if
- kathurat
- كَثُرَتْ
- (they are) numerous
- wa-anna
- وَأَنَّ
- And that
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- maʿa
- مَعَ
- (is) with
- l-mu'minīna
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- the believers
If you [disbelievers] seek the decision [i.e., victory] – the decision [i.e., defeat] has come to you. And if you desist [from hostilities], it is best for you; but if you return [to war], We will return, and never will you be availed by your [large] company at all, even if it should increase; and [that is] because Allah is with the believers. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 19)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْٓا اَطِيْعُوا اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ وَلَا تَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ وَاَنْتُمْ تَسْمَعُوْنَ ٢٠
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you!
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- who!
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوٓا۟
- believe!
- aṭīʿū
- أَطِيعُوا۟
- Obey
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- warasūlahu
- وَرَسُولَهُۥ
- and His Messenger
- walā
- وَلَا
- And (do) not
- tawallaw
- تَوَلَّوْا۟
- turn away
- ʿanhu
- عَنْهُ
- from him
- wa-antum
- وَأَنتُمْ
- while you
- tasmaʿūna
- تَسْمَعُونَ
- hear
O you who have believed, obey Allah and His Messenger and do not turn from him while you hear [his order]. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 20)Tafsir
