Al-Qur'an Surah An-Nazi'at Verse 3

An-Nazi'at [79]: 3 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

وَّالسّٰبِحٰتِ سَبْحًاۙ (النازعات : ٧٩)

wal-sābiḥāti
وَٱلسَّٰبِحَٰتِ
And those who glide
sabḥan
سَبْحًا
swimming

Transliteration:

Wass saabi-haati sabha (QS. an-Nāziʿāt:3)

English / Sahih Translation:

And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming (QS. An-Nazi'at, ayah 3)

and by those who float (in the atmosphere) swiftly,

and those gliding ˹through heavens˺ swiftly,

And those who glide smoothly.

Tafsir jalalayn

by those that glide serenely, [by] the angels who descend from the heavens with His command, exalted be He;

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

And by the swimmers, swimming.

Ibn Mas`ud said, "They are the angels."

Similar statements have been reported from `Ali, Mujahid, Sa`id bin Jubayr, and Abu Salih.

Concerning Allah's statement,

فَالسَّابِقَاتِ سَبْقًا
