(The Tidings)

31

اِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِيْنَ مَفَازًاۙ ٣١

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
lil'muttaqīna
لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
for the righteous
mafāzan
مَفَازًا
(is) success
Indeed, for the righteous is attainment - (QS. [78] An-Naba: 31)
Tafsir
32

حَدَاۤىِٕقَ وَاَعْنَابًاۙ ٣٢

ḥadāiqa
حَدَآئِقَ
Gardens
wa-aʿnāban
وَأَعْنَٰبًا
and grapevines
Gardens and grapevines. (QS. [78] An-Naba: 32)
Tafsir
33

وَّكَوَاعِبَ اَتْرَابًاۙ ٣٣

wakawāʿiba
وَكَوَاعِبَ
And splendid companions
atrāban
أَتْرَابًا
well-matched
And full-breasted [companions] of equal age. (QS. [78] An-Naba: 33)
Tafsir
34

وَّكَأْسًا دِهَاقًاۗ ٣٤

wakasan
وَكَأْسًا
And a cup
dihāqan
دِهَاقًا
full
And a full cup. (QS. [78] An-Naba: 34)
Tafsir
35

لَا يَسْمَعُوْنَ فِيْهَا لَغْوًا وَّلَا كِذَّابًا ٣٥

لَّا
Not
yasmaʿūna
يَسْمَعُونَ
they will hear
fīhā
فِيهَا
therein
laghwan
لَغْوًا
any vain talk
walā
وَلَا
and not
kidhāban
كِذَّٰبًا
any falsehood
No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood - (QS. [78] An-Naba: 35)
Tafsir
36

جَزَاۤءً مِّنْ رَّبِّكَ عَطَاۤءً حِسَابًاۙ ٣٦

jazāan
جَزَآءً
(As) a reward
min
مِّن
from
rabbika
رَّبِّكَ
your Lord
ʿaṭāan
عَطَآءً
a gift
ḥisāban
حِسَابًا
(according to) account
[As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account, (QS. [78] An-Naba: 36)
Tafsir
37

رَّبِّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الرَّحْمٰنِ لَا يَمْلِكُوْنَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًاۚ ٣٧

rabbi
رَّبِّ
Lord
l-samāwāti
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
(of) the heavens
wal-arḍi
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the earth
wamā
وَمَا
and whatever
baynahumā
بَيْنَهُمَا
(is) between both of them
l-raḥmāni
ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِۖ
the Most Gracious
لَا
not
yamlikūna
يَمْلِكُونَ
they have power
min'hu
مِنْهُ
from Him
khiṭāban
خِطَابًا
(to) address
[From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech. (QS. [78] An-Naba: 37)
Tafsir
38

يَوْمَ يَقُوْمُ الرُّوْحُ وَالْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةُ صَفًّاۙ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُوْنَ اِلَّا مَنْ اَذِنَ لَهُ الرَّحْمٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا ٣٨

yawma
يَوْمَ
(The) Day
yaqūmu
يَقُومُ
will stand
l-rūḥu
ٱلرُّوحُ
the Spirit
wal-malāikatu
وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
and the Angels
ṣaffan
صَفًّاۖ
(in) rows
لَّا
not
yatakallamūna
يَتَكَلَّمُونَ
they will speak
illā
إِلَّا
except
man
مَنْ
(one) who -
adhina
أَذِنَ
permits
lahu
لَهُ
[for] him
l-raḥmānu
ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ
the Most Gracious
waqāla
وَقَالَ
and he (will) say
ṣawāban
صَوَابًا
(what is) correct
The Day that the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct. (QS. [78] An-Naba: 38)
Tafsir
39

ذٰلِكَ الْيَوْمُ الْحَقُّۚ فَمَنْ شَاۤءَ اتَّخَذَ اِلٰى رَبِّهٖ مَاٰبًا ٣٩

dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
That
l-yawmu
ٱلْيَوْمُ
(is) the Day
l-ḥaqu
ٱلْحَقُّۖ
the True
faman
فَمَن
So whoever
shāa
شَآءَ
wills
ittakhadha
ٱتَّخَذَ
let him take
ilā
إِلَىٰ
towards
rabbihi
رَبِّهِۦ
his Lord
maāban
مَـَٔابًا
a return
That is the True [i.e., certain] Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return. (QS. [78] An-Naba: 39)
Tafsir
40

اِنَّآ اَنْذَرْنٰكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيْبًا ەۙ يَّوْمَ يَنْظُرُ الْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُوْلُ الْكٰفِرُ يٰلَيْتَنِيْ كُنْتُ تُرَابًا ࣖ ٤٠

innā
إِنَّآ
Indeed We
andharnākum
أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْ
[We] have warned you
ʿadhāban
عَذَابًا
(of) a punishment
qarīban
قَرِيبًا
near
yawma
يَوْمَ
(the) Day
yanẓuru
يَنظُرُ
will see
l-maru
ٱلْمَرْءُ
the man
مَا
what
qaddamat
قَدَّمَتْ
have sent forth
yadāhu
يَدَاهُ
his hands
wayaqūlu
وَيَقُولُ
and will say
l-kāfiru
ٱلْكَافِرُ
the disbeliever
yālaytanī
يَٰلَيْتَنِى
"O I wish!
kuntu
كُنتُ
I were
turāban
تُرَٰبًۢا
dust!"
Indeed, We have warned you of an impending punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust!" (QS. [78] An-Naba: 40)
