عَيْنًا فِيْهَا تُسَمّٰى سَلْسَبِيْلًا (الانسان : ٧٦)

Transliteration:

'Aynan feeha tusammaa salsabeelaa (QS. al-ʾInsān:18)

English / Sahih Translation:

[From] a fountain within it [i.e., Paradise] named Salsabeel. (QS. Al-Insan, ayah 18)

Tafsir jalalayn

a spring (`aynan substitutes for zanjablan, `ginger') therein named Salsabl, meaning that its water is like ginger, which the Arabs find very tasteful, [and which is] very palatable for the throat.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

A spring there, called Salsabil.

Ikrimah said,

"It (Salsabil) is the name of a spring in Paradise."

Mujahid said,

"It is called this due to its continuous flowing and the severity of its current."

Allah says,

وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُوْلُوًا مَّنثُورًا
