Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Muddaththir Verse 48
Al-Muddaththir [74]: 48 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
فَمَا تَنْفَعُهُمْ شَفَاعَةُ الشَّافِعِيْنَۗ (المدثر : ٧٤)
- famā

- Then not
- tanfaʿuhum
- تَنفَعُهُمْ
- will benefit them
- shafāʿatu
- شَفَٰعَةُ
- intercession
- l-shāfiʿīna
- ٱلشَّٰفِعِينَ
- (of) the intercessors
Transliteration:
Famaa tanfa'uhum shafaa'atush shaafi'een(QS. al-Muddathir:48)
English / Sahih Translation:
So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. (QS. Al-Muddaththir, ayah 48)

Tafsir jalalayn
Thus the intercession of the intercessors, from among the angels, the prophets and the righteous, will not avail them, in other words, there will be no intercession for them.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them.
meaning, whoever has these characteristics, then the intercession of whoever tries to intercede for him will be of no benefit on the Day of Judgement. This is because intercession is only useful if the conditions for it are met. However, whoever comes before Allah as a disbeliever on the Day of Judgement, then he will get the Hellfire and there is no way of avoiding it. He will abide in it (Hell) forever.
The Disapproval of the Disbelievers' Rejection and Their Position
Then Allah says,
فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ التَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ
