Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Muddaththir Verse 45
Al-Muddaththir [74]: 45 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَكُنَّا نَخُوْضُ مَعَ الْخَاۤىِٕضِيْنَۙ (المدثر : ٧٤)

- And we used (to)
- nakhūḍu
- نَخُوضُ
- indulge in vain talk
- maʿa
- مَعَ
- with
- l-khāiḍīna
- ٱلْخَآئِضِينَ
- the vain talkers
Transliteration:
Wa kunnaa nakhoodu ma'al khaaa'ideen(QS. al-Muddathir:45)
English / Sahih Translation:
And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], (QS. Al-Muddaththir, ayah 45)

meaning, `we used to speak about what we had no knowledge of.'
Qatadah said,
"It means that every time someone went astray we would go astray with them."
وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ
