Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Muzzammil Verse 10
Al-Muzzammil [73]: 10 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَاصْبِرْ عَلٰى مَا يَقُوْلُوْنَ وَاهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِيْلًا (المزمل : ٧٣)
- wa-iṣ'bir
- وَٱصْبِرْ
- And be patient
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- over
- mā
- مَا
- what
- yaqūlūna
- يَقُولُونَ
- they say
- wa-uh'jur'hum
- وَٱهْجُرْهُمْ
- and avoid them
- hajran
- هَجْرًا
- an avoidance
- jamīlan
- جَمِيلًا
- gracious
Transliteration:
Wasbir 'alaa maa yaqoo loona wahjurhum hajran jameelaa(QS. al-Muzzammil:10)
English / Sahih Translation:
And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance. (QS. Al-Muzzammil, ayah 10)

and bear patiently what they say, that is, the disbelievers of Mecca, in the way of their maltreatment [of you], and part with them in a gracious manner, without any anguish -- this was [revealed] before the command to fight them.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
The Command to be Patient with the Harms of the Disbelievers and a Discussion of what They will receive because of it
Allah says,
وَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِيلًا
And be patient with what they say, and keep away from them in a good.
Allah commands His Messenger to be patient with what the foolish who reject him among his people say.
Allah also commands him to keep away from them in a nice way. This means in a way that is not blameworthy.
Then Allah says to him, as a threat and a warning to his people - and He (Allah) is the Most Great, Whose anger nothing can stand before
