Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Jinn Verse 7

Al-Jinn [72]: 7 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

وَّاَنَّهُمْ ظَنُّوْا كَمَا ظَنَنْتُمْ اَنْ لَّنْ يَّبْعَثَ اللّٰهُ اَحَدًاۖ (الجن : ٧٢)

wa-annahum

And that they

Transliteration:

Wa annahum zannoo kamaa zanantum al lany yab'asal laahu ahadaa (QS. al-Jinn:7)

English / Sahih Translation:

And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger]. (QS. Al-Jinn, ayah 7)

and that they (humans) thought as you (O Jinns) thought that Allah will never resurrect anyone,

And those ˹humans˺ thought, just like you ˹jinn˺, that Allah would not resurrect anyone ˹for judgment˺.

And they, namely, the jinn, thought just as you, O humans, thought, that (an; softened in place of the hardened form, that is to say, annahu) God would never raise anyone, after his death.

And they thought as you thought that Allah will not send any Messenger.'

meaning, Allah would never send a Messenger after this long period of time.
