Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Ma'arij Verse 42
Al-Ma'arij [70]: 42 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوْضُوْا وَيَلْعَبُوْا حَتّٰى يُلٰقُوْا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِيْ يُوْعَدُوْنَۙ (المعارج : ٧٠)
- fadharhum
- فَذَرْهُمْ
- So leave them
- yakhūḍū
- يَخُوضُوا۟
- (to) converse vainly
- wayalʿabū
- وَيَلْعَبُوا۟
- and amuse themselves
- ḥattā
- حَتَّىٰ
- until
- yulāqū
- يُلَٰقُوا۟
- they meet
- yawmahumu
- يَوْمَهُمُ
- their Day
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- which
- yūʿadūna
- يُوعَدُونَ
- they are promised
Transliteration:
Fazarhum yakhoodoo wa yal'aboo hattaa yulaaqoo yaw mahumul lazee yoo'adoon(QS. al-Maʿārij:42)
English / Sahih Translation:
So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised – (QS. Al-Ma'arij, ayah 42)

Tafsir jalalayn
So leave them to indulge, in their falsehoods, and to play, in this world of theirs, until they encounter that day of theirs, in, which they are promised, chastisement;
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
فَذَرْهُمْ
So leave them,
meaning, `O Muhammad!'
يَخُوضُوا وَيَلْعَبُوا
to plunge in vain talk and play about,
meaning, leave them in their denial, disbelief and obstinance.
حَتَّى يُلَقُوا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ
until they meet their Day which they are promised.
meaning, they are going to know the outcome of that and taste its evil consequences.
يَوْمَ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الاَْجْدَاثِ سِرَاعًا كَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَى نُصُبٍ يُوفِضُونَ
