Al-Qur'an Surah Al-A'raf Verse 93
Al-A'raf [7]: 93 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
فَتَوَلّٰى عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يٰقَوْمِ لَقَدْ اَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسٰلٰتِ رَبِّيْ وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْۚ فَكَيْفَ اٰسٰى عَلٰى قَوْمٍ كٰفِرِيْنَ ࣖ (الأعراف : ٧)
- fatawallā
- فَتَوَلَّىٰ
- So he turned away
- ʿanhum
- عَنْهُمْ
- from them
- waqāla
- وَقَالَ
- and said
- yāqawmi
- يَٰقَوْمِ
- "O my people!
- laqad
- لَقَدْ
- Verily
- ablaghtukum
- أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ
- I (have) conveyed to you
- risālāti
- رِسَٰلَٰتِ
- (the) Messages
- rabbī
- رَبِّى
- (of) my Lord
- wanaṣaḥtu
- وَنَصَحْتُ
- and advised
- lakum
- لَكُمْۖ
- [to] you
- fakayfa
- فَكَيْفَ
- So how could
- āsā
- ءَاسَىٰ
- I grieve
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- for
- qawmin
- قَوْمٍ
- a people
- kāfirīna
- كَٰفِرِينَ
- (who are) disbelievers?"
Transliteration:
Fatawalla 'anhum wa qaala yaa qawmi laqad ablaghtukum Risaalaati Rabbee wa nasahtu lakum fakaifa aasaa'alaa qawmin kaafireen(QS. al-ʾAʿrāf:93)
English / Sahih Translation:
And he [i.e., Shuaib] turned away from them and said, "O my people, I had certainly conveyed to you the messages of my Lord and advised you, so how could I grieve for a disbelieving people?" (QS. Al-A'raf, ayah 93)

So, he turned away from them and said, “O my people, I have surely delivered to you the message of my Lord, and wished your betterment. How, then, should I grieve over a disbelieving people?”

Shu'ayb then departed from his people, and said: 'O my people! Surely I conveyed to you the message of my Lord, and gave you sincere advice. How, then, can I mourn for a people who refuse to accept the truth?'

So Shu'aib turned away from them and said: "O people, I conveyed to you the message of my Lord, and warned you. (But you paid no heed). How can I grieve for a people who do not believe?"

So Shoaib turned away from them saying, “O my people! Indeed I did deliver my Lord’s message to you and gave you sound advice; so why should I grieve for the disbelievers?” (The people in the graves can hear the speech of those who are on earth.)

So he abandoned them [to their fate] and said, ‘O my people! Certainly, I communicated to you the messages of my Lord, and I was your well-wisher. So how should I grieve for a faithless lot?’

And Shu‘ayb left them, saying: "O my people! I conveyed to you the messages of my Lord and gave you good counsel. How, then, could I mourn for a people ungrateful and persistent in unbelief?"

So he turned away from them and said, `O my people! I did deliver to you the Messages of my Lord and I did offer you sincere advice; how can I lament over a disbelieving people.´
English Literal
So he turned away from them, and he said: "My nation, I had communicated/informed you my Lord`s messages, and I advised to you, so how (do) I grieve/sorrow for on a nation disbelieving?"

So he turned away from them, and said, “O my people, I have delivered to you the messages of my Lord, and I have advised you, so why should I grieve over a disbelieving people?”
Tafsir jalalayn
So he turned back on them, and said, `O my people, I have conveyed to you the Messages of my Lord and advised you sincerely, but you believe not; so why should I grieve for a disbelieving people?' (the interrogative is meant [rhetorically] as a negation).
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
فَتَوَلَّى عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ
Then he (Shu`ayb) turned from them and said;
Prophet Shu`ayb, peace be upon him, turned away from his people after the torment, punishment and destruction struck them, admonishing and censuring them by saying to them,
يَا قَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّي وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ
"O my people! I have indeed conveyed my Lord's Messages unto you and I have given you good advice."
Shu`ayb said, I have conveyed to you what I was sent with, so I will not feel any sorrow for you since you disbelieved in what I brought you,
فَكَيْفَ اسَى عَلَى قَوْمٍ كَافِرِينَ
"Then how can I grieve over people who are disbelievers!"
