Al-Qur'an Surah Al-A'raf Verse 41

Mufti Taqi Usmani

For them there is a bed from the Jahannam, and over them there are coverings. This is how We recompense the transgressors.

Tafsir jalalayn

Hell shall be their bed, and over them coverings, of fire (ghawshin is the plural of ghshiya and its nunation compensates for the omitted y'). Thus do We requite the evildoers.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

لَهُم مِّن جَهَنَّمَ مِهَادٌ

Theirs will be Mihad from the Fire,

means, beds, while;

وَمِن فَوْقِهِمْ غَوَاشٍ

and over them Ghawash,

According to Muhammad bin Ka`b Al-Qurazi,

means, coverings,

Similar was said by Ad-Dahhak bin Muzahim and As-Suddi.

Allah said next,

وَكَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الظَّالِمِينَ



Thus do We recompense the wrongdoers
