Al-Qur'an Surah Al-A'raf Verse 23
Al-A'raf [7]: 23 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
قَالَا رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ اَنْفُسَنَا وَاِنْ لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُوْنَنَّ مِنَ الْخٰسِرِيْنَ (الأعراف : ٧)

- ظَلَمْنَآ
- we have wronged

- أَنفُسَنَا
- ourselves

- You forgive

- لَنَا
- [for] us
- watarḥamnā
- وَتَرْحَمْنَا
- and have mercy (on) us
- lanakūnanna
- لَنَكُونَنَّ
- surely we will be
- mina
- مِنَ
- among
- l-khāsirīna
- ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
- the losers"
Transliteration:
Qaalaa Rabbanaa zalamnaaa anfusanaa wa illam taghfir lanaa wa tarhamnaa lanakoonanna minal khaasireen(QS. al-ʾAʿrāf:23)
English / Sahih Translation:
They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers." (QS. Al-A'raf, ayah 23)

They said, “Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and do not bless us with mercy, we shall, indeed, be among the losers.

They (B) said: "Our Lord, We caused injustice/oppressed ourselves, and if You do not forgive for us, and You have mercy upon us, we will be/become from the losers ."

They said, `Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, by our act of disobedience, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we shall surely be among the lost'.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
قَالَا
They said;
رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
"Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers."
Ad-Dahhak bin Muzahim commented,
"These are the words that Adam received from his Lord.
