Al-A'raf [7]: 205 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

وَاذْكُرْ رَّبَّكَ فِيْ نَفْسِكَ تَضَرُّعًا وَّخِيْفَةً وَّدُوْنَ الْجَهْرِ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ بِالْغُدُوِّ وَالْاٰصَالِ وَلَا تَكُنْ مِّنَ الْغٰفِلِيْنَ (الأعراف : ٧)

wa-udh'kur
وَٱذْكُر
And remember
rabbaka
رَّبَّكَ
your Lord
فِى
in
nafsika
نَفْسِكَ
yourself
taḍarruʿan
تَضَرُّعًا
humbly
wakhīfatan
وَخِيفَةً
and (in) fear
wadūna
وَدُونَ
and without
l-jahri
ٱلْجَهْرِ
the loudness

ٱلْقَوْلِ
[the] words
bil-ghuduwi
بِٱلْغُدُوِّ
in the mornings
wal-āṣāli
وَٱلْءَاصَالِ
and (in) the evenings
walā
وَلَا
And (do) not
takun
تَكُن

مِّنَ
among
l-ghāfilīna
ٱلْغَٰفِلِينَ
the heedless

Transliteration:

Wazkur Rabbaka fee nafsika tadarru'anw wa kheefatanw wa doonal jahri minal qawli bilghuduwwi wal aasali wa laa takum minal ghaafileen (QS. al-ʾAʿrāf:205)

English / Sahih Translation:

And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear without being apparent in speech – in the mornings and the evenings. And do not be among the heedless. (QS. Al-A'raf, ayah 205)

Remember your Lord in your heart with humility and awe, and without speaking loudly, in mornings and evenings, and do not be among the heedless.

And remember your Lord within yourself, that is, secretly, humbly, submissively, and fearfully, in awe of Him, and, louder than [speaking] in secret, more quietly than speaking out loud, that is, a middle way between the two, at morning and evening, at the beginning of the day and at its end. And do not be among the heedless, of God's remembrance.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

Remembering Allah in the Mornings and Afternoons

Allah says;
وَاذْكُر رَّبَّكَ فِي نَفْسِكَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوبِ تَضَرُّعاً وَخِيفَةً وَدُونَ الْجَهْرِ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ارْبَعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ فَإِنَّكُمْ لَاا تَدْعُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلَاا غَايِبًا إِنَّ الَّذِي تَدْعُونَهُ سَمِيعٌ قَرِيبٌ أَقْرَبُ إِلَى أَحَدِكُمْ مِنْ عُنُقِ رَاحِلِته بِالْغُدُوِّ وَالاصَالِ وَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ الْغَافِلِينَ

in the mornings and in the afternoons, and be not of those who are neglectful.

These texts encourage the servants to invoke Allah in Dhikr often, especially in the mornings and afternoons, so that they are not among those who neglect remembering Him.

This is why Allah praised the angels who praise Him night and day without tiring,
