قَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ وَلِاَخِيْ وَاَدْخِلْنَا فِيْ رَحْمَتِكَ ۖوَاَنْتَ اَرْحَمُ الرّٰحِمِيْنَ ࣖ ١٥١

- He said
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- "O my Lord!
- igh'fir
- ٱغْفِرْ
- Forgive
- lī
- لِى
- me
- wali-akhī
- وَلِأَخِى
- and my brother
- wa-adkhil'nā
- وَأَدْخِلْنَا
- and admit us
- fī
- فِى
- into
- raḥmatika
- رَحْمَتِكَۖ
- Your Mercy
- wa-anta
- وَأَنتَ
- for You
- arḥamu
- أَرْحَمُ
- (are) the Most Merciful
- l-rāḥimīna
- ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
- (of) the merciful"
[Moses] said, "My Lord, forgive me and my brother and admit us into Your mercy, for You are the most merciful of the merciful." (QS. [7] Al-A'raf: 151)Tafsir
اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اتَّخَذُوا الْعِجْلَ سَيَنَالُهُمْ غَضَبٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّهِمْ وَذِلَّةٌ فِى الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَاۗ وَكَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِى الْمُفْتَرِيْنَ ١٥٢
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- ittakhadhū
- ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
- took
- l-ʿij'la
- ٱلْعِجْلَ
- the calf
- sayanāluhum
- سَيَنَالُهُمْ
- will reach them
- ghaḍabun
- غَضَبٌ
- wrath
- min
- مِّن
- from
- rabbihim
- رَّبِّهِمْ
- their Lord
- wadhillatun
- وَذِلَّةٌ
- and humiliation
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-ḥayati
- ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
- the life
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَاۚ
- (of) the world
- wakadhālika
- وَكَذَٰلِكَ
- And thus
- najzī
- نَجْزِى
- We recompense
- l-muf'tarīna
- ٱلْمُفْتَرِينَ
- the ones who invent (falsehood)
Indeed, those who took the calf [for worship] will obtain anger from their Lord and humiliation in the life of this world, and thus do We recompense the inventors [of falsehood]. (QS. [7] Al-A'raf: 152)Tafsir
وَالَّذِيْنَ عَمِلُوا السَّيِّاٰتِ ثُمَّ تَابُوْا مِنْۢ بَعْدِهَا وَاٰمَنُوْٓا اِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ١٥٣
- wa-alladhīna
- وَٱلَّذِينَ
- And those who
- ʿamilū
- عَمِلُوا۟
- do
- l-sayiāti
- ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ
- the evil deeds
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- tābū
- تَابُوا۟
- repented
- min
- مِنۢ
- from
- baʿdihā
- بَعْدِهَا
- after that
- waāmanū
- وَءَامَنُوٓا۟
- and believed
- inna
- إِنَّ
- indeed
- rabbaka
- رَبَّكَ
- your Lord
- min
- مِنۢ
- from
- baʿdihā
- بَعْدِهَا
- after that
- laghafūrun
- لَغَفُورٌ
- (is) surely Oft-Forgiving
- raḥīmun
- رَّحِيمٌ
- Most Merciful
But those who committed misdeeds and then repented after them and believed – indeed your Lord, thereafter, is Forgiving and Merciful. (QS. [7] Al-A'raf: 153)Tafsir
وَلَمَّا سَكَتَ عَنْ مُّوْسَى الْغَضَبُ اَخَذَ الْاَلْوَاحَۖ وَفِيْ نُسْخَتِهَا هُدًى وَّرَحْمَةٌ لِّلَّذِيْنَ هُمْ لِرَبِّهِمْ يَرْهَبُوْنَ ١٥٤
- walammā
- وَلَمَّا
- And when
- sakata
- سَكَتَ
- was calmed
- ʿan
- عَن
- from
- mūsā
- مُّوسَى
- Musa
- l-ghaḍabu
- ٱلْغَضَبُ
- the anger
- akhadha
- أَخَذَ
- he took (up)
- l-alwāḥa
- ٱلْأَلْوَاحَۖ
- the tablets
- wafī
- وَفِى
- and in
- nus'khatihā
- نُسْخَتِهَا
- their inscription
- hudan
- هُدًى
- (was) guidance
- waraḥmatun
- وَرَحْمَةٌ
- and mercy
- lilladhīna
- لِّلَّذِينَ
- for those who
- hum
- هُمْ
- [they]
- lirabbihim
- لِرَبِّهِمْ
- of their Lord
- yarhabūna
- يَرْهَبُونَ
- (are) fearful
And when the anger subsided in Moses, he took up the tablets; and in their inscription was guidance and mercy for those who are fearful of their Lord. (QS. [7] Al-A'raf: 154)Tafsir
وَاخْتَارَ مُوْسٰى قَوْمَهٗ سَبْعِيْنَ رَجُلًا لِّمِيْقَاتِنَا ۚفَلَمَّآ اَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ قَالَ رَبِّ لَوْ شِئْتَ اَهْلَكْتَهُمْ مِّنْ قَبْلُ وَاِيَّايَۗ اَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ السُّفَهَاۤءُ مِنَّاۚ اِنْ هِيَ اِلَّا فِتْنَتُكَۗ تُضِلُّ بِهَا مَنْ تَشَاۤءُ وَتَهْدِيْ مَنْ تَشَاۤءُۗ اَنْتَ وَلِيُّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا وَاَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْغَافِرِيْنَ ١٥٥
- wa-ikh'tāra
- وَٱخْتَارَ
- And chose
- mūsā
- مُوسَىٰ
- Musa
- qawmahu
- قَوْمَهُۥ
- (from) his people
- sabʿīna
- سَبْعِينَ
- seventy
- rajulan
- رَجُلًا
- men
- limīqātinā
- لِّمِيقَٰتِنَاۖ
- for Our appointment
- falammā
- فَلَمَّآ
- Then when
- akhadhathumu
- أَخَذَتْهُمُ
- seized them
- l-rajfatu
- ٱلرَّجْفَةُ
- the earthquake
- qāla
- قَالَ
- he said
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- "O my Lord!
- law
- لَوْ
- If
- shi'ta
- شِئْتَ
- you (had) willed
- ahlaktahum
- أَهْلَكْتَهُم
- You (could) have destroyed them
- min
- مِّن
- from
- qablu
- قَبْلُ
- before
- wa-iyyāya
- وَإِيَّٰىَۖ
- and me
- atuh'likunā
- أَتُهْلِكُنَا
- Would You destroy us
- bimā
- بِمَا
- for what
- faʿala
- فَعَلَ
- did
- l-sufahāu
- ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ
- the foolish
- minnā
- مِنَّآۖ
- among us?
- in
- إِنْ
- Not
- hiya
- هِىَ
- it (was)
- illā
- إِلَّا
- but
- fit'natuka
- فِتْنَتُكَ
- Your trial
- tuḍillu
- تُضِلُّ
- You let go astray
- bihā
- بِهَا
- by it
- man
- مَن
- whom
- tashāu
- تَشَآءُ
- You will
- watahdī
- وَتَهْدِى
- and You guide
- man
- مَن
- whom
- tashāu
- تَشَآءُۖ
- You will
- anta
- أَنتَ
- You
- waliyyunā
- وَلِيُّنَا
- (are) our Protector
- fa-igh'fir
- فَٱغْفِرْ
- so forgive
- lanā
- لَنَا
- us
- wa-ir'ḥamnā
- وَٱرْحَمْنَاۖ
- and have mercy upon us
- wa-anta
- وَأَنتَ
- and You
- khayru
- خَيْرُ
- (are) Best
- l-ghāfirīna
- ٱلْغَٰفِرِينَ
- (of) Forgivers
And Moses chose from his people seventy men for Our appointment. And when the earthquake seized them, he said, "My Lord, if You had willed, You could have destroyed them before and me [as well]. Would You destroy us for what the foolish among us have done? This is not but Your trial by which You send astray whom You will and guide whom You will. You are our Protector, so forgive us and have mercy upon us; and You are the best of forgivers. (QS. [7] Al-A'raf: 155)Tafsir
۞ وَاكْتُبْ لَنَا فِيْ هٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَّفِى الْاٰخِرَةِ اِنَّا هُدْنَآ اِلَيْكَۗ قَالَ عَذَابِيْٓ اُصِيْبُ بِهٖ مَنْ اَشَاۤءُۚ وَرَحْمَتِيْ وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍۗ فَسَاَكْتُبُهَا لِلَّذِيْنَ يَتَّقُوْنَ وَيُؤْتُوْنَ الزَّكٰوةَ وَالَّذِيْنَ هُمْ بِاٰيٰتِنَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَۚ ١٥٦

- وَٱكْتُبْ
- And ordain
- lanā
- لَنَا
- for us
- fī
- فِى
- in
- hādhihi
- هَٰذِهِ
- this
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَا
- [the] world
- ḥasanatan
- حَسَنَةً
- good
- wafī
- وَفِى
- and in
- l-ākhirati
- ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ
- the Hereafter
- innā
- إِنَّا
- Indeed, we
- hud'nā
- هُدْنَآ
- we have turned
- ilayka
- إِلَيْكَۚ
- to You"
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- ʿadhābī
- عَذَابِىٓ
- "My punishment
- uṣību
- أُصِيبُ
- I afflict
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- with it
- man
- مَنْ
- whom
- ashāu
- أَشَآءُۖ
- I will
- waraḥmatī
- وَرَحْمَتِى
- but My Mercy
- wasiʿat
- وَسِعَتْ
- encompasses
- kulla
- كُلَّ
- every
- shayin
- شَىْءٍۚ
- thing
- fasa-aktubuhā
- فَسَأَكْتُبُهَا
- So I will ordain it
- lilladhīna
- لِلَّذِينَ
- for those who
- yattaqūna
- يَتَّقُونَ
- (are) righteous
- wayu'tūna
- وَيُؤْتُونَ
- and give
- l-zakata
- ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
- zakah
- wa-alladhīna
- وَٱلَّذِينَ
- and those who
- hum
- هُم
- [they]
- biāyātinā
- بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
- in Our Verses
- yu'minūna
- يُؤْمِنُونَ
- they believe
And decree for us in this world [that which is] good and [also] in the Hereafter; indeed, we have turned back to You." [Allah] said, "My punishment – I afflict with it whom I will, but My mercy encompasses all things." So I will decree it [especially] for those who fear Me and give Zakah and those who believe in Our verses– (QS. [7] Al-A'raf: 156)Tafsir
اَلَّذِيْنَ يَتَّبِعُوْنَ الرَّسُوْلَ النَّبِيَّ الْاُمِّيَّ الَّذِيْ يَجِدُوْنَهٗ مَكْتُوْبًا عِنْدَهُمْ فِى التَّوْرٰىةِ وَالْاِنْجِيْلِ يَأْمُرُهُمْ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ وَيَنْهٰىهُمْ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ الطَّيِّبٰتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْخَبٰۤىِٕثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ اِصْرَهُمْ وَالْاَغْلٰلَ الَّتِيْ كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْۗ فَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا بِهٖ وَعَزَّرُوْهُ وَنَصَرُوْهُ وَاتَّبَعُوا النُّوْرَ الَّذِيْٓ اُنْزِلَ مَعَهٗٓ ۙاُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُوْنَ ࣖ ١٥٧
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- Those who
- yattabiʿūna
- يَتَّبِعُونَ
- follow
- l-rasūla
- ٱلرَّسُولَ
- the Messenger
- l-nabiya
- ٱلنَّبِىَّ
- the Prophet
- l-umiya
- ٱلْأُمِّىَّ
- the unlettered
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- whom
- yajidūnahu
- يَجِدُونَهُۥ
- they find him
- maktūban
- مَكْتُوبًا
- written
- ʿindahum
- عِندَهُمْ
- with them
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-tawrāti
- ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ
- the Taurat
- wal-injīli
- وَٱلْإِنجِيلِ
- and the Injeel
- yamuruhum
- يَأْمُرُهُم
- He commands them
- bil-maʿrūfi
- بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ
- to the right
- wayanhāhum
- وَيَنْهَىٰهُمْ
- and forbids them
- ʿani
- عَنِ
- from
- l-munkari
- ٱلْمُنكَرِ
- the wrong
- wayuḥillu
- وَيُحِلُّ
- and he makes lawful
- lahumu
- لَهُمُ
- for them
- l-ṭayibāti
- ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ
- the pure things
- wayuḥarrimu
- وَيُحَرِّمُ
- and makes unlawful
- ʿalayhimu
- عَلَيْهِمُ
- for them
- l-khabāitha
- ٱلْخَبَٰٓئِثَ
- the impure things
- wayaḍaʿu
- وَيَضَعُ
- and he relieves
- ʿanhum
- عَنْهُمْ
- from them
- iṣ'rahum
- إِصْرَهُمْ
- their burden
- wal-aghlāla
- وَٱلْأَغْلَٰلَ
- and the fetters
- allatī
- ٱلَّتِى
- which
- kānat
- كَانَتْ
- were
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْۚ
- upon them
- fa-alladhīna
- فَٱلَّذِينَ
- So those who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- in him
- waʿazzarūhu
- وَعَزَّرُوهُ
- and honor him
- wanaṣarūhu
- وَنَصَرُوهُ
- and help him
- wa-ittabaʿū
- وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟
- and follow
- l-nūra
- ٱلنُّورَ
- the light
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِىٓ
- which
- unzila
- أُنزِلَ
- has been sent down
- maʿahu
- مَعَهُۥٓۙ
- with him
- ulāika
- أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- Those (are)
- humu
- هُمُ
- [they]
- l-muf'liḥūna
- ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
- the successful ones"
Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written [i.e., described] in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and prohibits them from what is wrong and makes lawful for them what is good and forbids them from what is evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him – it is those who will be the successful. (QS. [7] Al-A'raf: 157)Tafsir
قُلْ يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اِنِّيْ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ اِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيْعًا ۨالَّذِيْ لَهٗ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۚ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ يُحْيٖ وَيُمِيْتُۖ فَاٰمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهِ النَّبِيِّ الْاُمِّيِّ الَّذِيْ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللّٰهِ وَكَلِمٰتِهٖ وَاتَّبِعُوْهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُوْنَ ١٥٨

- قُلْ
- Say
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- "O!
- l-nāsu
- ٱلنَّاسُ
- "mankind!
- innī
- إِنِّى
- Indeed I am
- rasūlu
- رَسُولُ
- (the) Messenger
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- ilaykum
- إِلَيْكُمْ
- to you
- jamīʿan
- جَمِيعًا
- all
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- the One
- lahu
- لَهُۥ
- for Whom
- mul'ku
- مُلْكُ
- (is the) dominion
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- (of) the heavens
- wal-arḍi
- وَٱلْأَرْضِۖ
- and the earth
- lā
- لَآ
- (There is) no
- ilāha
- إِلَٰهَ
- god
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- huwa
- هُوَ
- Him
- yuḥ'yī
- يُحْىِۦ
- He gives life
- wayumītu
- وَيُمِيتُۖ
- and causes death
- faāminū
- فَـَٔامِنُوا۟
- So believe
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- in Allah
- warasūlihi
- وَرَسُولِهِ
- and His Messenger
- l-nabiyi
- ٱلنَّبِىِّ
- the Prophet
- l-umiyi
- ٱلْأُمِّىِّ
- the unlettered
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- the one who
- yu'minu
- يُؤْمِنُ
- believes
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- in Allah
- wakalimātihi
- وَكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ
- and His Words
- wa-ittabiʿūhu
- وَٱتَّبِعُوهُ
- and follow him
- laʿallakum
- لَعَلَّكُمْ
- so that you may
- tahtadūna
- تَهْتَدُونَ
- (be) guided"
Say, [O Muhammad], "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, [from Him] to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death." So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered prophet, who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him that you may be guided. (QS. [7] Al-A'raf: 158)Tafsir
وَمِنْ قَوْمِ مُوْسٰٓى اُمَّةٌ يَّهْدُوْنَ بِالْحَقِّ وَبِهٖ يَعْدِلُوْنَ ١٥٩
- wamin
- وَمِن
- And among
- qawmi
- قَوْمِ
- (the) people
- mūsā
- مُوسَىٰٓ
- (of) Musa
- ummatun
- أُمَّةٌ
- (is) a community
- yahdūna
- يَهْدُونَ
- (which) guides
- bil-ḥaqi
- بِٱلْحَقِّ
- with truth
- wabihi
- وَبِهِۦ
- and by it
- yaʿdilūna
- يَعْدِلُونَ
- establishes justice
And among the people of Moses is a community which guides by truth and by it establishes justice. (QS. [7] Al-A'raf: 159)Tafsir
وَقَطَّعْنٰهُمُ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ اَسْبَاطًا اُمَمًاۗ وَاَوْحَيْنَآ اِلٰى مُوْسٰٓى اِذِ اسْتَسْقٰىهُ قَوْمُهٗٓ اَنِ اضْرِبْ بِّعَصَاكَ الْحَجَرَۚ فَانْۢبَجَسَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًاۗ قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ اُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْۗ وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الْغَمَامَ وَاَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوٰىۗ كُلُوْا مِنْ طَيِّبٰتِ مَا رَزَقْنٰكُمْۗ وَمَا ظَلَمُوْنَا وَلٰكِنْ كَانُوْٓا اَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُوْنَ ١٦٠
- waqaṭṭaʿnāhumu
- وَقَطَّعْنَٰهُمُ
- And We divided them
- ith'natay
- ٱثْنَتَىْ
- (into) two
- ʿashrata
- عَشْرَةَ
- (and) ten [i.e. twelve]
- asbāṭan
- أَسْبَاطًا
- tribes
- umaman
- أُمَمًاۚ
- (as) communities
- wa-awḥaynā
- وَأَوْحَيْنَآ
- And We inspired
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- mūsā
- مُوسَىٰٓ
- Musa
- idhi
- إِذِ
- when
- is'tasqāhu
- ٱسْتَسْقَىٰهُ
- asked him for water
- qawmuhu
- قَوْمُهُۥٓ
- his people
- ani
- أَنِ
- [that]
- iḍ'rib
- ٱضْرِب
- "Strike
- biʿaṣāka
- بِّعَصَاكَ
- with your staff
- l-ḥajara
- ٱلْحَجَرَۖ
- the stone"
- fa-inbajasat
- فَٱنۢبَجَسَتْ
- Then gushed forth
- min'hu
- مِنْهُ
- from it
- ith'natā
- ٱثْنَتَا
- two
- ʿashrata
- عَشْرَةَ
- (and) ten [i.e. twelve]
- ʿaynan
- عَيْنًاۖ
- springs
- qad
- قَدْ
- Certainly
- ʿalima
- عَلِمَ
- knew
- kullu
- كُلُّ
- each
- unāsin
- أُنَاسٍ
- people
- mashrabahum
- مَّشْرَبَهُمْۚ
- their drinking place
- waẓallalnā
- وَظَلَّلْنَا
- And We shaded
- ʿalayhimu
- عَلَيْهِمُ
- [on] them
- l-ghamāma
- ٱلْغَمَٰمَ
- (with) the clouds
- wa-anzalnā
- وَأَنزَلْنَا
- and We sent down
- ʿalayhimu
- عَلَيْهِمُ
- upon them
- l-mana
- ٱلْمَنَّ
- the manna
- wal-salwā
- وَٱلسَّلْوَىٰۖ
- and the quails
- kulū
- كُلُوا۟
- "Eat
- min
- مِن
- from
- ṭayyibāti
- طَيِّبَٰتِ
- (the) good things
- mā
- مَا
- which
- razaqnākum
- رَزَقْنَٰكُمْۚ
- We have provided you"
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- ẓalamūnā
- ظَلَمُونَا
- they wronged Us
- walākin
- وَلَٰكِن
- but
- kānū
- كَانُوٓا۟
- they were
- anfusahum
- أَنفُسَهُمْ
- (to) themselves
- yaẓlimūna
- يَظْلِمُونَ
- doing wrong
And We divided them into twelve descendant tribes [as distinct] nations. And We inspired to Moses when his people implored him for water, "Strike with your staff the stone," and there gushed forth from it twelve springs. Every people [i.e., tribe] knew its watering place. And We shaded them with clouds and sent down upon them manna and quails, [saying], "Eat from the good things with which We have provided you." And they wronged Us not, but they were [only] wronging themselves. (QS. [7] Al-A'raf: 160)Tafsir
