Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Haqqah Verse 47

Al-Haqqah [69]: 47 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

فَمَا مِنْكُمْ مِّنْ اَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَاجِزِيْنَۙ (الحاقة : ٦٩)

(could) prevent

Transliteration:

Famaa minkum min ahadin'anhu haajizeen (QS. al-Ḥāq̈q̈ah:47)

English / Sahih Translation:

And there is no one of you who could prevent [Us] from him. (QS. Al-Haqqah, ayah 47)

English Literal

So (there) is not from anyone from you preventing/hindering from (for) him.

Tafsir jalalayn

and not one of you (ahadin is the subject of m, min being extra, used to emphasise the negation; minkum is a circumstantial qualifier referring to ahadin) could have defended him (hjizna is the predicate of [the preceding] m, and it is used in the plural because ahad, when employed in a negatory context, denotes a plural sense; the [suffixed] pronoun in `anhu refers to the Prophet), in other words, there is none to prevent Us from punishing him.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

And none of you could have prevented it from him.

means, `none of you would be able to come between Us and him if We wanted to do any of this to him.'

The meaning behind all of this is to say that he (Muhammad) is truthful, righteous and guided because Allah determined what he is to convey from Him, and Allah helps him with fantastic miracles and definite proofs.

Then Allah says,

وَإِنَّهُ لَتَذْكِرَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
