Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Qalam Verse 30
Al-Qalam [68]: 30 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
فَاَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلٰى بَعْضٍ يَّتَلَاوَمُوْنَ (القلم : ٦٨)
- fa-aqbala
- فَأَقْبَلَ
- Then approached
- baʿḍuhum
- بَعْضُهُمْ
- some of them
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- to
- baʿḍin
- بَعْضٍ
- others
- yatalāwamūna
- يَتَلَٰوَمُونَ
- blaming each other
Transliteration:
Fa aqbala ba'duhum 'alaa ba'diny yatalaawamoon(QS. al-Q̈alam:30)
English / Sahih Translation:
Then they approached one another, blaming each other. (QS. Al-Qalam, ayah 30)

Tafseer Ibn Kathir
"...Verily, we have been wrongdoers." Then they turned one against another, blaming.
meaning, they started blaming each other for what they had resolved to do, preventing the poor people from receiving their right of the harvested fruit. Thus, their response to each other was only to confess their error and sin.
