اَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَاۤءُۚ فَلْيَأْتُوْا بِشُرَكَاۤىِٕهِمْ اِنْ كَانُوْا صٰدِقِيْنَ ٤١
- am
- أَمْ
- Or
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- (do) they have
- shurakāu
- شُرَكَآءُ
- partners?
- falyatū
- فَلْيَأْتُوا۟
- Then let them bring
- bishurakāihim
- بِشُرَكَآئِهِمْ
- their partners
- in
- إِن
- if
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they are
- ṣādiqīna
- صَٰدِقِينَ
- truthful
Or do they have partners? Then let them bring their partners, if they should be truthful. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 41)Tafsir
يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَنْ سَاقٍ وَّيُدْعَوْنَ اِلَى السُّجُوْدِ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيْعُوْنَۙ ٤٢
- yawma
- يَوْمَ
- (The) Day
- yuk'shafu
- يُكْشَفُ
- will be uncovered
- ʿan
- عَن
- from
- sāqin
- سَاقٍ
- the shin
- wayud'ʿawna
- وَيُدْعَوْنَ
- and they will be called
- ilā
- إِلَى
- to
- l-sujūdi
- ٱلسُّجُودِ
- prostrate
- falā
- فَلَا
- but not
- yastaṭīʿūna
- يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
- they will be able
The Day the shin will be uncovered and they are invited to prostration but they [i.e., the disbelievers] will not be able, (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 42)Tafsir
خَاشِعَةً اَبْصَارُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ ۗوَقَدْ كَانُوْا يُدْعَوْنَ اِلَى السُّجُوْدِ وَهُمْ سَالِمُوْنَ ٤٣
- khāshiʿatan
- خَٰشِعَةً
- Humbled
- abṣāruhum
- أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ
- their eyes
- tarhaquhum
- تَرْهَقُهُمْ
- will cover them
- dhillatun
- ذِلَّةٌۖ
- humiliation
- waqad
- وَقَدْ
- And indeed
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they were
- yud'ʿawna
- يُدْعَوْنَ
- called
- ilā
- إِلَى
- to
- l-sujūdi
- ٱلسُّجُودِ
- prostrate
- wahum
- وَهُمْ
- while they
- sālimūna
- سَٰلِمُونَ
- (were) sound
Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. And they used to be invited to prostration while they were sound. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 43)Tafsir
فَذَرْنِيْ وَمَنْ يُّكَذِّبُ بِهٰذَا الْحَدِيْثِۗ سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُمْ مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَۙ ٤٤
- fadharnī
- فَذَرْنِى
- So leave Me
- waman
- وَمَن
- and whoever
- yukadhibu
- يُكَذِّبُ
- denies
- bihādhā
- بِهَٰذَا
- this
- l-ḥadīthi
- ٱلْحَدِيثِۖ
- Statement
- sanastadrijuhum
- سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم
- We will progressively lead them
- min
- مِّنْ
- from
- ḥaythu
- حَيْثُ
- where
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yaʿlamūna
- يَعْلَمُونَ
- they know
So leave Me, [O Muhammad], with [the matter of] whoever denies this statement [i.e., the Quran]. We will progressively lead them [to punishment] from where they do not know. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 44)Tafsir
وَاُمْلِيْ لَهُمْۗ اِنَّ كَيْدِيْ مَتِيْنٌ ٤٥
- wa-um'lī
- وَأُمْلِى
- And I will give respite
- lahum
- لَهُمْۚ
- to them
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- kaydī
- كَيْدِى
- My plan
- matīnun
- مَتِينٌ
- (is) firm
And I will give them time. Indeed, My plan is firm. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 45)Tafsir
اَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ اَجْرًا فَهُمْ مِّنْ مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُوْنَۚ ٤٦
- am
- أَمْ
- Or
- tasaluhum
- تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ
- you ask them
- ajran
- أَجْرًا
- a payment
- fahum
- فَهُم
- so they
- min
- مِّن
- from
- maghramin
- مَّغْرَمٍ
- (the) debt
- muth'qalūna
- مُّثْقَلُونَ
- (are) burdened?
Or do you ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down? (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 46)Tafsir
اَمْ عِنْدَهُمُ الْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُوْنَ ٤٧
- am
- أَمْ
- Or
- ʿindahumu
- عِندَهُمُ
- (is) with them
- l-ghaybu
- ٱلْغَيْبُ
- the unseen
- fahum
- فَهُمْ
- so they
- yaktubūna
- يَكْتُبُونَ
- write it?
Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down? (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 47)Tafsir
فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُنْ كَصَاحِبِ الْحُوْتِۘ اِذْ نَادٰى وَهُوَ مَكْظُوْمٌۗ ٤٨
- fa-iṣ'bir
- فَٱصْبِرْ
- So be patient
- liḥuk'mi
- لِحُكْمِ
- for (the) decision
- rabbika
- رَبِّكَ
- (of) your Lord
- walā
- وَلَا
- and (do) not
- takun
- تَكُن
- be
- kaṣāḥibi
- كَصَاحِبِ
- like (the) companion
- l-ḥūti
- ٱلْحُوتِ
- (of) the fish
- idh
- إِذْ
- when
- nādā
- نَادَىٰ
- he called out
- wahuwa
- وَهُوَ
- while he
- makẓūmun
- مَكْظُومٌ
- (was) distressed
Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muhammad], and be not like the companion of the fish [i.e., Jonah] when he called out while he was distressed. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 48)Tafsir
لَوْلَآ اَنْ تَدَارَكَهٗ نِعْمَةٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّهٖ لَنُبِذَ بِالْعَرَاۤءِ وَهُوَ مَذْمُوْمٌ ٤٩
- lawlā
- لَّوْلَآ
- If not
- an
- أَن
- that
- tadārakahu
- تَدَٰرَكَهُۥ
- overtook him
- niʿ'matun
- نِعْمَةٌ
- a Favor
- min
- مِّن
- from
- rabbihi
- رَّبِّهِۦ
- his Lord
- lanubidha
- لَنُبِذَ
- surely he would have been thrown
- bil-ʿarāi
- بِٱلْعَرَآءِ
- onto (the) naked shore
- wahuwa
- وَهُوَ
- while he
- madhmūmun
- مَذْمُومٌ
- (was) blamed
If not that a favor [i.e., mercy] from his Lord overtook him, he would have been thrown onto the naked shore while he was censured. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 49)Tafsir
فَاجْتَبٰىهُ رَبُّهٗ فَجَعَلَهٗ مِنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ ٥٠
- fa-ij'tabāhu
- فَٱجْتَبَٰهُ
- But chose him
- rabbuhu
- رَبُّهُۥ
- his Lord
- fajaʿalahu
- فَجَعَلَهُۥ
- and made him
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-ṣāliḥīna
- ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
- the righteous
And his Lord chose him and made him of the righteous. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 50)Tafsir
