فَتَنَادَوْا مُصْبِحِيْنَۙ ٢١
- fatanādaw
- فَتَنَادَوْا۟
- And they called one another
- muṣ'biḥīna
- مُصْبِحِينَ
- (at) morning
And they called one another at morning, (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 21)Tafsir
22
اَنِ اغْدُوْا عَلٰى حَرْثِكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَارِمِيْنَ ٢٢
- ani
- أَنِ
- That
- igh'dū
- ٱغْدُوا۟
- "Go early
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- to
- ḥarthikum
- حَرْثِكُمْ
- your crop
- in
- إِن
- if
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you would
- ṣārimīna
- صَٰرِمِينَ
- pluck (the) fruit"
[Saying], "Go early to your crop if you would cut the fruit." (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 22)Tafsir
23
فَانْطَلَقُوْا وَهُمْ يَتَخَافَتُوْنَۙ ٢٣
- fa-inṭalaqū
- فَٱنطَلَقُوا۟
- So they went
- wahum
- وَهُمْ
- while they
- yatakhāfatūna
- يَتَخَٰفَتُونَ
- lowered (their) voices
So they set out, while lowering their voices, (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 23)Tafsir
24
اَنْ لَّا يَدْخُلَنَّهَا الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِّسْكِيْنٌۙ ٢٤
- an
- أَن
- That
- lā
- لَّا
- "Not
- yadkhulannahā
- يَدْخُلَنَّهَا
- will enter it
- l-yawma
- ٱلْيَوْمَ
- today
- ʿalaykum
- عَلَيْكُم
- upon you
- mis'kīnun
- مِّسْكِينٌ
- any poor person"
[Saying], "There will surely not enter it today upon you [any] poor person." (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 24)Tafsir
25
وَّغَدَوْا عَلٰى حَرْدٍ قَادِرِيْنَ ٢٥
- waghadaw
- وَغَدَوْا۟
- And they went early
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- with
- ḥardin
- حَرْدٍ
- determination
- qādirīna
- قَٰدِرِينَ
- able
And they went early in determination, [assuming themselves] able. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 25)Tafsir
26
فَلَمَّا رَاَوْهَا قَالُوْٓا اِنَّا لَضَاۤلُّوْنَۙ ٢٦
- falammā
- فَلَمَّا
- But when
- ra-awhā
- رَأَوْهَا
- they saw it
- qālū
- قَالُوٓا۟
- they said
- innā
- إِنَّا
- "Indeed we
- laḍāllūna
- لَضَآلُّونَ
- (are) surely lost
But when they saw it, they said, "Indeed, we are lost; (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 26)Tafsir
27
بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُوْمُوْنَ ٢٧
- bal
- بَلْ
- Nay!
- naḥnu
- نَحْنُ
- We
- maḥrūmūna
- مَحْرُومُونَ
- (are) deprived"
Rather, we have been deprived." (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 27)Tafsir
28
قَالَ اَوْسَطُهُمْ اَلَمْ اَقُلْ لَّكُمْ لَوْلَا تُسَبِّحُوْنَ ٢٨
- qāla
- قَالَ
- Said
- awsaṭuhum
- أَوْسَطُهُمْ
- (the) most moderate of them
- alam
- أَلَمْ
- "Did not
- aqul
- أَقُل
- I tell
- lakum
- لَّكُمْ
- you
- lawlā
- لَوْلَا
- Why not
- tusabbiḥūna
- تُسَبِّحُونَ
- you glorify (Allah)
The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [Allah]?'" (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 28)Tafsir
29
قَالُوْا سُبْحٰنَ رَبِّنَآ اِنَّا كُنَّا ظٰلِمِيْنَ ٢٩
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- sub'ḥāna
- سُبْحَٰنَ
- "Glory be
- rabbinā
- رَبِّنَآ
- (to) our Lord!
- innā
- إِنَّا
- Indeed we
- kunnā
- كُنَّا
- [we] were
- ẓālimīna
- ظَٰلِمِينَ
- wrongdoers"
They said, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers." (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 29)Tafsir
30
فَاَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلٰى بَعْضٍ يَّتَلَاوَمُوْنَ ٣٠
- fa-aqbala
- فَأَقْبَلَ
- Then approached
- baʿḍuhum
- بَعْضُهُمْ
- some of them
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- to
- baʿḍin
- بَعْضٍ
- others
- yatalāwamūna
- يَتَلَٰوَمُونَ
- blaming each other
Then they approached one another, blaming each other. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 30)Tafsir
