نۤ ۚوَالْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُوْنَۙ ١

- وَٱلْقَلَمِ
- By the pen
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and what
- yasṭurūna
- يَسْطُرُونَ
- they write
N´n. By the pen and what they inscribe, (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 1)Tafsir

مَآ اَنْتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُوْنٍ ٢
- mā
- مَآ
- Not
- anta
- أَنتَ
- you (are)
- biniʿ'mati
- بِنِعْمَةِ
- by (the) Grace
- rabbika
- رَبِّكَ
- (of) your Lord
- bimajnūnin
- بِمَجْنُونٍ
- a madman
You are not, [O Muhammad], by the favor of your Lord, a madman. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 2)Tafsir
3
وَاِنَّ لَكَ لَاَجْرًا غَيْرَ مَمْنُوْنٍۚ ٣
- wa-inna
- وَإِنَّ
- And indeed
- laka
- لَكَ
- for you
- la-ajran
- لَأَجْرًا
- surely (is) a reward
- ghayra
- غَيْرَ
- without
- mamnūnin
- مَمْنُونٍ
- end
And indeed, for you is a reward uninterrupted. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 3)Tafsir
4
وَاِنَّكَ لَعَلٰى خُلُقٍ عَظِيْمٍ ٤
- wa-innaka
- وَإِنَّكَ
- And indeed you
- laʿalā
- لَعَلَىٰ
- surely (are)
- khuluqin
- خُلُقٍ
- (of) a moral character
- ʿaẓīmin
- عَظِيمٍ
- great
And indeed, you are of a great moral character. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 4)Tafsir
5
فَسَتُبْصِرُ وَيُبْصِرُوْنَۙ ٥
- fasatub'ṣiru
- فَسَتُبْصِرُ
- So soon you will see
- wayub'ṣirūna
- وَيُبْصِرُونَ
- and they will see
So you will see and they will see. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 5)Tafsir

بِاَيِّىكُمُ الْمَفْتُوْنُ ٦
- bi-ayyikumu
- بِأَييِّكُمُ
- Which of you
- l-maftūnu
- ٱلْمَفْتُونُ
- (is) the afflicted one
Which of you is the afflicted [by a devil]. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 6)Tafsir

اِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ اَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ ضَلَّ عَنْ سَبِيْلِهٖۖ وَهُوَ اَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِيْنَ ٧

- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- rabbaka
- رَبَّكَ
- your Lord
- huwa
- هُوَ
- He
- aʿlamu
- أَعْلَمُ
- (is) most knowing
- biman
- بِمَن
- of (he) who
- ḍalla
- ضَلَّ
- has strayed
- ʿan
- عَن
- from
- sabīlihi
- سَبِيلِهِۦ
- His way
- wahuwa
- وَهُوَ
- and He
- aʿlamu
- أَعْلَمُ
- (is) most knowing
- bil-muh'tadīna
- بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ
- of the guided ones
Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has gone astray from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 7)Tafsir
8
فَلَا تُطِعِ الْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ ٨
- falā
- فَلَا
- So (do) not
- tuṭiʿi
- تُطِعِ
- obey
- l-mukadhibīna
- ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
- the deniers
Then do not obey the deniers. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 8)Tafsir
9
وَدُّوْا لَوْ تُدْهِنُ فَيُدْهِنُوْنَۚ ٩
- waddū
- وَدُّوا۟
- They wish
- law
- لَوْ
- that
- tud'hinu
- تُدْهِنُ
- you should compromise
- fayud'hinūna
- فَيُدْهِنُونَ
- so they would compromise
They wish that you would soften [in your position], so they would soften [toward you]. (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 9)Tafsir
10
وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍ مَّهِيْنٍۙ ١٠
- walā
- وَلَا
- And (do) not
- tuṭiʿ
- تُطِعْ
- obey
- kulla
- كُلَّ
- every
- ḥallāfin
- حَلَّافٍ
- habitual swearer
- mahīnin
- مَّهِينٍ
- worthless
And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer (QS. [68] Al-Qalam: 10)Tafsir
