(The Sovereignty)

21

اَمَّنْ هٰذَا الَّذِيْ يَرْزُقُكُمْ اِنْ اَمْسَكَ رِزْقَهٗ ۚ بَلْ لَّجُّوْا فِيْ عُتُوٍّ وَّنُفُوْرٍ ٢١

amman
أَمَّنْ
Who is
hādhā
هَٰذَا
this
alladhī
ٱلَّذِى
the one
yarzuqukum
يَرْزُقُكُمْ
to provide you
in
إِنْ
if
amsaka
أَمْسَكَ
He withheld
riz'qahu
رِزْقَهُۥۚ
His provision
bal
بَل
Nay
lajjū
لَّجُّوا۟
they persist
فِى
in
ʿutuwwin
عُتُوٍّ
pride
wanufūrin
وَنُفُورٍ
and aversion
Or who is it that could provide for you if He withheld His provision? But they have persisted in insolence and aversion. (QS. [67] Al-Mulk: 21)
Tafsir
22

اَفَمَنْ يَّمْشِيْ مُكِبًّا عَلٰى وَجْهِهٖٓ اَهْدٰىٓ اَمَّنْ يَّمْشِيْ سَوِيًّا عَلٰى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيْمٍ ٢٢

afaman
أَفَمَن
Then is he who
yamshī
يَمْشِى
walks
mukibban
مُكِبًّا
fallen
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
on
wajhihi
وَجْهِهِۦٓ
his face
ahdā
أَهْدَىٰٓ
better guided
amman
أَمَّن
or (he) who
yamshī
يَمْشِى
walks
sawiyyan
سَوِيًّا
upright
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
on
ṣirāṭin
صِرَٰطٍ
(the) Path
mus'taqīmin
مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
Straight?
Then is one who walks fallen on his face better guided or one who walks erect on a straight path? (QS. [67] Al-Mulk: 22)
Tafsir
23

قُلْ هُوَ الَّذِيْٓ اَنْشَاَكُمْ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْاَبْصَارَ وَالْاَفْـِٕدَةَۗ قَلِيْلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُوْنَ ٢٣

قُلْ
Say
huwa
هُوَ
"He
alladhī
ٱلَّذِىٓ
(is) the One Who
ansha-akum
أَنشَأَكُمْ
produced you
wajaʿala
وَجَعَلَ
and made
lakumu
لَكُمُ
for you
l-samʿa
ٱلسَّمْعَ
the hearing
wal-abṣāra
وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ
and the vision
wal-afidata
وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَۖ
and the feelings
qalīlan
قَلِيلًا
Little
مَّا
(is) what
tashkurūna
تَشْكُرُونَ
you give thanks"
Say, "It is He who has produced you and made for you hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect]; little are you grateful." (QS. [67] Al-Mulk: 23)
Tafsir
24

قُلْ هُوَ الَّذِيْ ذَرَاَكُمْ فِى الْاَرْضِ وَاِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُوْنَ ٢٤

qul
قُلْ
Say
huwa
هُوَ
"He
alladhī
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
dhara-akum
ذَرَأَكُمْ
multiplied you
فِى
in
l-arḍi
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the earth
wa-ilayhi
وَإِلَيْهِ
and to Him
tuḥ'sharūna
تُحْشَرُونَ
you will be gathered"
Say, "It is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered." (QS. [67] Al-Mulk: 24)
Tafsir
25

وَيَقُوْلُوْنَ مَتٰى هٰذَا الْوَعْدُ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ ٢٥

wayaqūlūna
وَيَقُولُونَ
And they say
matā
مَتَىٰ
"When
hādhā
هَٰذَا
(is) this
l-waʿdu
ٱلْوَعْدُ
promise
in
إِن
if
kuntum
كُنتُمْ
you are
ṣādiqīna
صَٰدِقِينَ
truthful?"
And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" (QS. [67] Al-Mulk: 25)
Tafsir
26

قُلْ اِنَّمَا الْعِلْمُ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ ۖوَاِنَّمَآ اَنَا۠ نَذِيْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌ ٢٦

qul
قُلْ
Say
innamā
إِنَّمَا
"Only
l-ʿil'mu
ٱلْعِلْمُ
the knowledge
ʿinda
عِندَ
(is) with
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
wa-innamā
وَإِنَّمَآ
and only
anā
أَنَا۠
I am
nadhīrun
نَذِيرٌ
a warner
mubīnun
مُّبِينٌ
clear"
Say, "The knowledge is only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner." (QS. [67] Al-Mulk: 26)
Tafsir
27

فَلَمَّا رَاَوْهُ زُلْفَةً سِيْۤـَٔتْ وُجُوْهُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَقِيْلَ هٰذَا الَّذِيْ كُنْتُمْ بِهٖ تَدَّعُوْنَ ٢٧

falammā
فَلَمَّا
But when
ra-awhu
رَأَوْهُ
they (will) see it
zul'fatan
زُلْفَةً
approaching
sīat
سِيٓـَٔتْ
(will be) distressed
wujūhu
وُجُوهُ
(the) faces
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
(of) those who
kafarū
كَفَرُوا۟
disbelieved
waqīla
وَقِيلَ
and it will be said
hādhā
هَٰذَا
"This
alladhī
ٱلَّذِى
(is) that which
kuntum
كُنتُم
you used (to)
bihi
بِهِۦ
for it
taddaʿūna
تَدَّعُونَ
call"
But when they see it approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will be distressed, and it will be said, "This is that for which you used to call." (QS. [67] Al-Mulk: 27)
Tafsir
28

قُلْ اَرَءَيْتُمْ اِنْ اَهْلَكَنِيَ اللّٰهُ وَمَنْ مَّعِيَ اَوْ رَحِمَنَاۙ فَمَنْ يُّجِيْرُ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ اَلِيْمٍ ٢٨

قُلْ
Say
ara-aytum
أَرَءَيْتُمْ
"Have you seen
in
إِنْ
if
ahlakaniya
أَهْلَكَنِىَ
destroys me
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
waman
وَمَن
and whoever
maʿiya
مَّعِىَ
(is) with me
aw
أَوْ
or
raḥimanā
رَحِمَنَا
has mercy upon us
faman
فَمَن
then who
yujīru
يُجِيرُ
(can) protect
l-kāfirīna
ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
the disbelievers
min
مِنْ
from
ʿadhābin
عَذَابٍ
a punishment
alīmin
أَلِيمٍ
painful"
Say, [O Muhammad], "Have you considered: whether Allah should cause my death and those with me or have mercy upon us, who can protect the disbelievers from a painful punishment?" (QS. [67] Al-Mulk: 28)
Tafsir
29

قُلْ هُوَ الرَّحْمٰنُ اٰمَنَّا بِهٖ وَعَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْنَاۚ فَسَتَعْلَمُوْنَ مَنْ هُوَ فِيْ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِيْنٍ ٢٩

qul
قُلْ
Say
huwa
هُوَ
"He
l-raḥmānu
ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ
(is) the Most Gracious;
āmannā
ءَامَنَّا
we believe
bihi
بِهِۦ
in Him
waʿalayhi
وَعَلَيْهِ
and upon Him
tawakkalnā
تَوَكَّلْنَاۖ
we put (our) trust
fasataʿlamūna
فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ
So soon you will know
man
مَنْ
who
huwa
هُوَ
(is) it
فِى
(that is) in
ḍalālin
ضَلَٰلٍ
error
mubīnin
مُّبِينٍ
clear"
Say, "He is the Most Merciful; we have believed in Him, and upon Him we have relied. And you will [come to] know who it is that is in clear error." (QS. [67] Al-Mulk: 29)
Tafsir
30

قُلْ اَرَءَيْتُمْ اِنْ اَصْبَحَ مَاۤؤُكُمْ غَوْرًا فَمَنْ يَّأْتِيْكُمْ بِمَاۤءٍ مَّعِيْنٍ ࣖ ٣٠

qul
قُلْ
Say
ara-aytum
أَرَءَيْتُمْ
"Have you seen
in
إِنْ
if
aṣbaḥa
أَصْبَحَ
becomes
māukum
مَآؤُكُمْ
your water
ghawran
غَوْرًا
sunken
faman
فَمَن
then who
yatīkum
يَأْتِيكُم
could bring you
bimāin
بِمَآءٍ
water
maʿīnin
مَّعِينٍۭ
flowing?"
Say, "Have you considered: if your water was to become sunken [into the earth], then who could bring you flowing water?" (QS. [67] Al-Mulk: 30)
