Al-Qur'an Surah At-Taghabun Verse 1

At-Taghabun [64]: 1 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

يُسَبِّحُ لِلّٰهِ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْاَرْضِۗ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُۖ وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ (التغابن : ٦٤)

And He

كُلِّ

shayin
شَىْءٍ

قَدِيرٌ
All-powerful

Transliteration:

Yusabbihu lillaahi maa fis samaawaati wa maa fil ardi lahul mulku wa lahul hamd, wa Huwa 'alaa kulli shai 'in Qadeer (QS. at-Taghābun:1)

English / Sahih Translation:

Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is exalting Allah. To Him belongs dominion, and to Him belongs [all] praise, and He is over all things competent. (QS. At-Taghabun, ayah 1)

Mufti Taqi Usmani

All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth proclaim Allah’s purity. To Him belongs the kingdom, and for Him is all praise, and He is powerful over every thing.

Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth ˹constantly˺ glorifies Allah. The kingdom is His, and all praise is for Him. For He is Most Capable of everything.

English Literal

What (is) in the skies/space and what (is) in the earth/Planet Earth praise/glorify to God, for Him (is) the ownership/kingdom , and for Him (is) the praise/gratitude , and He is on every thing capable/able .

Everything in the heavens and the earth praises God. To Him belongs the Kingdom, and to Him all praise is due, and He is Able to do all things.

Tafsir jalalayn

All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifies God, [everything] proclaims His transcendence (the lm [of li'Llhi] is extra; m is used instead of min in order to indicate the predominance [of non- rational beings]). To Him belongs the Kingdom and to Him belongs [all] praise, and He has power over all things.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

Praising Allah and mentioning His Creation and Knowledge

Allah the Exalted said,

يُسَبِّحُ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الاَْرْضِ


Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah.

This is the last Surah among Al-Musabbihat. We mentioned before that all creatures praise the glory of Allah, their Creator and Owner.

Allah said,

لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ


His is the dominion, and to Him belongs the praise,

meaning, He is the One Who has control over all creation, the One praised for all He created and decreed.

Allah's statement,

وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ



and He is Able to do all things.

means that whatever He wills occurs without resistance, and whatever He does not will, never occurs.
