Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Munafiqun Verse 6
Al-Munafiqun [63]: 6 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
سَوَاۤءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ اَسْتَغْفَرْتَ لَهُمْ اَمْ لَمْ تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْۗ لَنْ يَّغْفِرَ اللّٰهُ لَهُمْۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الْفٰسِقِيْنَ (المنافقون : ٦٣)

Transliteration:
Sawaaa'un 'alaihim as taghfarta lahum am lam tastaghfir lahum lany yaghfiral laahu lahum; innal laaha laa yahdil qawmal faasiqeen(QS. al-Munāfiq̈ūn:6)
English / Sahih Translation:
It is all the same for them whether you ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them; never will Allah forgive them. Indeed, Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people. (QS. Al-Munafiqun, ayah 6)
Mufti Taqi Usmani
It is equal in their case, whether you (O prophet,) pray for their forgiveness or do not pray, Allah will never forgive them. Indeed Allah does not guide the sinning people.

It is the same whether you pray for their forgiveness or not, Allah will not forgive them. Surely Allah does not guide the rebellious people.

English Literal
(It is) equal/alike on (for) them (if) you asked for forgiveness for them, or you did not ask for forgiveness for them, God will never/not forgive for them, that truly God does not guide the nation, the debauchers .

Tafsir jalalayn
It will be the same for them, whether you ask forgiveness for them (a'staghfarta; the interrogative hamza here has taken the place of the conjunctive hamza) or do not ask forgiveness for them; God will never forgive them. Indeed God does not guide the immoral folk.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
It is equal to them whether you ask forgiveness or ask not forgiveness for them, Allah will never forgive them. Verily, Allah guides not the people who are the rebellious.
As Allah said in Surah Bara'ah, and a discussion preceded there, and here we will present some of the Hadiths reported that are related to it.
Several of the Salaf mentioned that this entire passage was revealed in the case of Abdullah bin Ubay bin Salul, as we will soon mention, Allah willing and our trust and reliance are on Him.
Allah says,
هُمُ الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ لَا تُنفِقُوا عَلَى مَنْ عِندَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ حَتَّى يَنفَضُّوا
وَلِلَّهِ خَزَايِنُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالاَْرْضِ وَلَكِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ
