اِذَا جَاۤءَكَ الْمُنٰفِقُوْنَ قَالُوْا نَشْهَدُ اِنَّكَ لَرَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ ۘوَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ اِنَّكَ لَرَسُوْلُهٗ ۗوَاللّٰهُ يَشْهَدُ اِنَّ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ لَكٰذِبُوْنَۚ ١
- idhā
- إِذَا
- When
- jāaka
- جَآءَكَ
- come to you
- l-munāfiqūna
- ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ
- the hypocrites
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- they say
- nashhadu
- نَشْهَدُ
- "We testify
- innaka
- إِنَّكَ
- that you
- larasūlu
- لَرَسُولُ
- (are) surely (the) Messenger
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۗ
- (of) Allah"
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- yaʿlamu
- يَعْلَمُ
- knows
- innaka
- إِنَّكَ
- that you
- larasūluhu
- لَرَسُولُهُۥ
- (are) surely His Messenger
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- and Allah
- yashhadu
- يَشْهَدُ
- testifies
- inna
- إِنَّ
- that
- l-munāfiqīna
- ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ
- the hypocrites
- lakādhibūna
- لَكَٰذِبُونَ
- (are) surely liars
When the hypocrites come to you, [O Muhammad], they say, "We testify that you are the Messenger of Allah." And Allah knows that you are His Messenger, and Allah testifies that the hypocrites are liars. (QS. [63] Al-Munafiqun: 1)Tafsir
اِتَّخَذُوْٓا اَيْمَانَهُمْ جُنَّةً فَصَدُّوْا عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ ۗاِنَّهُمْ سَاۤءَ مَا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ ٢
- ittakhadhū
- ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟
- They take
- aymānahum
- أَيْمَٰنَهُمْ
- their oaths
- junnatan
- جُنَّةً
- (as) a cover
- faṣaddū
- فَصَدُّوا۟
- so they turn away
- ʿan
- عَن
- from
- sabīli
- سَبِيلِ
- (the) Way
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۚ
- (of) Allah
- innahum
- إِنَّهُمْ
- Indeed
- sāa
- سَآءَ
- evil is
- mā
- مَا
- what
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they used (to)
- yaʿmalūna
- يَعْمَلُونَ
- do
They have taken their oaths as a cover, so they averted [people] from the way of Allah. Indeed, it was evil that they were doing. (QS. [63] Al-Munafiqun: 2)Tafsir
ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ اٰمَنُوْا ثُمَّ كَفَرُوْا فَطُبِعَ عَلٰى قُلُوْبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَفْقَهُوْنَ ٣
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- That
- bi-annahum
- بِأَنَّهُمْ
- (is) because
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- they believed
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- they disbelieved;
- faṭubiʿa
- فَطُبِعَ
- so were sealed
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- [upon]
- qulūbihim
- قُلُوبِهِمْ
- their hearts
- fahum
- فَهُمْ
- so they
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- yafqahūna
- يَفْقَهُونَ
- understand
That is because they believed, and then they disbelieved; so their hearts were sealed over, and they do not understand. (QS. [63] Al-Munafiqun: 3)Tafsir
۞ وَاِذَا رَاَيْتَهُمْ تُعْجِبُكَ اَجْسَامُهُمْۗ وَاِنْ يَّقُوْلُوْا تَسْمَعْ لِقَوْلِهِمْۗ كَاَنَّهُمْ خُشُبٌ مُّسَنَّدَةٌ ۗيَحْسَبُوْنَ كُلَّ صَيْحَةٍ عَلَيْهِمْۗ هُمُ الْعَدُوُّ فَاحْذَرْهُمْۗ قَاتَلَهُمُ اللّٰهُ ۖاَنّٰى يُؤْفَكُوْنَ ٤
- wa-idhā
- وَإِذَا
- And when
- ra-aytahum
- رَأَيْتَهُمْ
- you see them
- tuʿ'jibuka
- تُعْجِبُكَ
- pleases you
- ajsāmuhum
- أَجْسَامُهُمْۖ
- their bodies
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- and if
- yaqūlū
- يَقُولُوا۟
- they speak
- tasmaʿ
- تَسْمَعْ
- you listen
- liqawlihim
- لِقَوْلِهِمْۖ
- to their speech
- ka-annahum
- كَأَنَّهُمْ
- as if they (were)
- khushubun
- خُشُبٌ
- pieces of wood
- musannadatun
- مُّسَنَّدَةٌۖ
- propped up
- yaḥsabūna
- يَحْسَبُونَ
- They think
- kulla
- كُلَّ
- every
- ṣayḥatin
- صَيْحَةٍ
- shout
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْۚ
- (is) against them
- humu
- هُمُ
- They
- l-ʿaduwu
- ٱلْعَدُوُّ
- (are) the enemy
- fa-iḥ'dharhum
- فَٱحْذَرْهُمْۚ
- so beware of them
- qātalahumu
- قَٰتَلَهُمُ
- May destroy them!
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُۖ
- Allah!
- annā
- أَنَّىٰ
- How
- yu'fakūna
- يُؤْفَكُونَ
- are they deluded?
And when you see them, their forms please you, and if they speak, you listen to their speech. [They are] as if they were pieces of wood propped up – they think that every shout is against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded? (QS. [63] Al-Munafiqun: 4)Tafsir
وَاِذَا قِيْلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا يَسْتَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ لَوَّوْا رُءُوْسَهُمْ وَرَاَيْتَهُمْ يَصُدُّوْنَ وَهُمْ مُّسْتَكْبِرُوْنَ ٥
- wa-idhā
- وَإِذَا
- And when
- qīla
- قِيلَ
- it is said
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- to them
- taʿālaw
- تَعَالَوْا۟
- "Come
- yastaghfir
- يَسْتَغْفِرْ
- will ask forgiveness
- lakum
- لَكُمْ
- for you
- rasūlu
- رَسُولُ
- (the) Messenger"
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah"
- lawwaw
- لَوَّوْا۟
- They turn aside
- ruūsahum
- رُءُوسَهُمْ
- their heads
- wara-aytahum
- وَرَأَيْتَهُمْ
- and you see them
- yaṣuddūna
- يَصُدُّونَ
- turning away
- wahum
- وَهُم
- while they
- mus'takbirūna
- مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَ
- (are) arrogant
And when it is said to them, "Come, the Messenger of Allah will ask forgiveness for you," they turn their heads aside and you see them evading while they are arrogant. (QS. [63] Al-Munafiqun: 5)Tafsir
سَوَاۤءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ اَسْتَغْفَرْتَ لَهُمْ اَمْ لَمْ تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْۗ لَنْ يَّغْفِرَ اللّٰهُ لَهُمْۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الْفٰسِقِيْنَ ٦
- sawāon
- سَوَآءٌ
- (It) is same
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- for them
- astaghfarta
- أَسْتَغْفَرْتَ
- whether you ask forgiveness
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- for them
- am
- أَمْ
- or
- lam
- لَمْ
- (do) not
- tastaghfir
- تَسْتَغْفِرْ
- ask forgiveness
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- for them
- lan
- لَن
- Never
- yaghfira
- يَغْفِرَ
- will forgive
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- lahum
- لَهُمْۚ
- [to] them
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- lā
- لَا
- (does) not
- yahdī
- يَهْدِى
- guide
- l-qawma
- ٱلْقَوْمَ
- the people
- l-fāsiqīna
- ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ
- the defiantly disobedient
It is all the same for them whether you ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them; never will Allah forgive them. Indeed, Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people. (QS. [63] Al-Munafiqun: 6)Tafsir
هُمُ الَّذِيْنَ يَقُوْلُوْنَ لَا تُنْفِقُوْا عَلٰى مَنْ عِنْدَ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ حَتّٰى يَنْفَضُّوْاۗ وَلِلّٰهِ خَزَاۤىِٕنُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۙ وَلٰكِنَّ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ لَا يَفْقَهُوْنَ ٧
- humu
- هُمُ
- They
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (are) those who
- yaqūlūna
- يَقُولُونَ
- say
- lā
- لَا
- "(Do) not
- tunfiqū
- تُنفِقُوا۟
- spend
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- on
- man
- مَنْ
- (those) who
- ʿinda
- عِندَ
- (are) with
- rasūli
- رَسُولِ
- (the) Messenger
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- ḥattā
- حَتَّىٰ
- until
- yanfaḍḍū
- يَنفَضُّوا۟ۗ
- they disband"
- walillahi
- وَلِلَّهِ
- And for Allah
- khazāinu
- خَزَآئِنُ
- (are the) treasures
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- (of) the heavens
- wal-arḍi
- وَٱلْأَرْضِ
- and the earth
- walākinna
- وَلَٰكِنَّ
- but
- l-munāfiqīna
- ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ
- the hypocrites
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- yafqahūna
- يَفْقَهُونَ
- understand
They are the ones who say, "Do not spend on those who are with the Messenger of Allah until they disband." And to Allah belong the depositories of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do not understand. (QS. [63] Al-Munafiqun: 7)Tafsir
يَقُوْلُوْنَ لَىِٕنْ رَّجَعْنَآ اِلَى الْمَدِيْنَةِ لَيُخْرِجَنَّ الْاَعَزُّ مِنْهَا الْاَذَلَّ ۗوَلِلّٰهِ الْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُوْلِهٖ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَلٰكِنَّ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ࣖ ٨
- yaqūlūna
- يَقُولُونَ
- They say
- la-in
- لَئِن
- "If
- rajaʿnā
- رَّجَعْنَآ
- we return
- ilā
- إِلَى
- to
- l-madīnati
- ٱلْمَدِينَةِ
- Al-Madinah
- layukh'rijanna
- لَيُخْرِجَنَّ
- surely will expel
- l-aʿazu
- ٱلْأَعَزُّ
- the more honorable
- min'hā
- مِنْهَا
- from it
- l-adhala
- ٱلْأَذَلَّۚ
- the more humble"
- walillahi
- وَلِلَّهِ
- But for Allah
- l-ʿizatu
- ٱلْعِزَّةُ
- (is) the honor
- walirasūlihi
- وَلِرَسُولِهِۦ
- and for His Messenger
- walil'mu'minīna
- وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- and for the believers
- walākinna
- وَلَٰكِنَّ
- but
- l-munāfiqīna
- ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ
- the hypocrites
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- yaʿlamūna
- يَعْلَمُونَ
- know
They say, "If we return to al-Madinah, the more honored [for power] will surely expel therefrom the more humble." And to Allah belongs [all] honor, and to His Messenger, and to the believers, but the hypocrites do not know. (QS. [63] Al-Munafiqun: 8)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تُلْهِكُمْ اَمْوَالُكُمْ وَلَآ اَوْلَادُكُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللّٰهِ ۚوَمَنْ يَّفْعَلْ ذٰلِكَ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْخٰسِرُوْنَ ٩
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O!
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- you (who)!
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe!
- lā
- لَا
- (Let) not
- tul'hikum
- تُلْهِكُمْ
- divert you
- amwālukum
- أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ
- your wealth
- walā
- وَلَآ
- and not
- awlādukum
- أَوْلَٰدُكُمْ
- your children
- ʿan
- عَن
- from
- dhik'ri
- ذِكْرِ
- (the) remembrance
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۚ
- (of) Allah
- waman
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- yafʿal
- يَفْعَلْ
- does
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- that
- fa-ulāika
- فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- then those
- humu
- هُمُ
- [they]
- l-khāsirūna
- ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ
- (are) the losers
O you who have believed, let not your wealth and your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. And whoever does that – then those are the losers. (QS. [63] Al-Munafiqun: 9)Tafsir
وَاَنْفِقُوْا مِنْ مَّا رَزَقْنٰكُمْ مِّنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ يَّأْتِيَ اَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ فَيَقُوْلَ رَبِّ لَوْلَآ اَخَّرْتَنِيْٓ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ قَرِيْبٍۚ فَاَصَّدَّقَ وَاَكُنْ مِّنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ ١٠
- wa-anfiqū
- وَأَنفِقُوا۟
- And spend
- min
- مِن
- from
- mā
- مَّا
- what
- razaqnākum
- رَزَقْنَٰكُم
- We have provided you
- min
- مِّن
- from
- qabli
- قَبْلِ
- before
- an
- أَن
- [that]
- yatiya
- يَأْتِىَ
- comes
- aḥadakumu
- أَحَدَكُمُ
- (to) one of you
- l-mawtu
- ٱلْمَوْتُ
- the death
- fayaqūla
- فَيَقُولَ
- and he says
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- "My Lord!
- lawlā
- لَوْلَآ
- Why not
- akhartanī
- أَخَّرْتَنِىٓ
- You delay me
- ilā
- إِلَىٰٓ
- for
- ajalin
- أَجَلٍ
- a term
- qarībin
- قَرِيبٍ
- near
- fa-aṣṣaddaqa
- فَأَصَّدَّقَ
- so I would give charity
- wa-akun
- وَأَكُن
- and be
- mina
- مِّنَ
- among
- l-ṣāliḥīna
- ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
- the righteous"
And spend [in the way of Allah] from what We have provided you before death approaches one of you and he says, "My Lord, if only You would delay me for a brief term so I would give charity and be of the righteous." (QS. [63] Al-Munafiqun: 10)Tafsir
