Al-Qur'an Surah Al-An'am Verse 56
Al-An'am [6]: 56 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
قُلْ اِنِّيْ نُهِيْتُ اَنْ اَعْبُدَ الَّذِيْنَ تَدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ ۗ قُلْ لَّآ اَتَّبِعُ اَهْوَاۤءَكُمْۙ قَدْ ضَلَلْتُ اِذًا وَّمَآ اَنَا۠ مِنَ الْمُهْتَدِيْنَ (الأنعام : ٦)

Transliteration:
Qul innee nuheetu an a'budal lazeena tad'oona min doonil laah; qul laaa attabi'u ahwaaa'akum qad dalaltu izanw wa maaa ana minal muhtadeen(QS. al-ʾAnʿām:56)
English / Sahih Translation:
Say, "Indeed, I have been forbidden to worship those you invoke besides Allah." Say, "I will not follow your desires, for I would then have gone astray, and I would not be of the [rightly] guided." (QS. Al-An'am, ayah 56)
Mufti Taqi Usmani
Say, “I have been forbidden from worshiping those whom you invoke beside Allah.” Say, “I do not follow your desires, because if I were to do that, I would be going astray and would no more be of those on the right path.”

English Literal
Say: "That I, I was forbidden/prevented that I worship those who you call from other than God." Say: "I do not follow your self attractions for desires I had then become misguided, and I am not from the guided."

Say; `Truly I have been forbidden to worship those whom you call upon, [those whom] you worship, besides God.' Say; `I shall not follow your whims, by worshipping them, for then, if I did follow them, verily I would have gone astray and I would not be of the rightly guided'.
