Al-Qur'an Surah Al-An'am Verse 10

Mufti Taqi Usmani

Even before you (O Prophet,) many messengers were ridiculed. Those who laughed at them were, then, besieged by what they used to ridicule.

Tafsir jalalayn

And messengers were indeed mocked before you -- this is meant as a consolation for the Prophet, (s) -- but those who scoffed at them were encompassed by that which they mocked, namely, [by the] punishment [sent down on them]; those who mock you will be encompassed likewise.

And indeed Messengers were mocked before you, but their scoffers were surrounded by the very thing that they used to mock at.

comforts the Messenger concerning the denial of him by his people. 'The Ayah also promises the Messenger, and his believers, of Allah's victory and the good end in this life and the Hereafter.

Allah said next,

قُلْ سِيرُواْ فِي الَارْضِ ثُمَّ انظُرُواْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ
