Surah Al-An'am - Page: 6

(The Cattle)

51

وَاَنْذِرْ بِهِ الَّذِيْنَ يَخَافُوْنَ اَنْ يُّحْشَرُوْٓا اِلٰى رَبِّهِمْ لَيْسَ لَهُمْ مِّنْ دُوْنِهٖ وَلِيٌّ وَّلَا شَفِيْعٌ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُوْنَ ٥١

wa-andhir
وَأَنذِرْ
And warn
bihi
بِهِ
with it
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
yakhāfūna
يَخَافُونَ
fear
an
أَن
that
yuḥ'sharū
يُحْشَرُوٓا۟
they will be gathered
ilā
إِلَىٰ
to
rabbihim
رَبِّهِمْۙ
their Lord
laysa
لَيْسَ
not
lahum
لَهُم
for them
min
مِّن
of
dūnihi
دُونِهِۦ
other than Him
waliyyun
وَلِىٌّ
any protector
walā
وَلَا
and not
shafīʿun
شَفِيعٌ
any intercessor
laʿallahum
لَّعَلَّهُمْ
so that they may
yattaqūna
يَتَّقُونَ
(become) righteous
And warn by it [i.e., the Quran] those who fear that they will be gathered before their Lord – for them besides Him will be no protector and no intercessor – that they might become righteous. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 51)
Tafsir
52

وَلَا تَطْرُدِ الَّذِيْنَ يَدْعُوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَدٰوةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ يُرِيْدُوْنَ وَجْهَهٗ ۗمَا عَلَيْكَ مِنْ حِسَابِهِمْ مِّنْ شَيْءٍ وَّمَا مِنْ حِسَابِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِّنْ شَيْءٍ فَتَطْرُدَهُمْ فَتَكُوْنَ مِنَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ٥٢

walā
وَلَا
And (do) not
taṭrudi
تَطْرُدِ
send away
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
yadʿūna
يَدْعُونَ
call
rabbahum
رَبَّهُم
their Lord
bil-ghadati
بِٱلْغَدَوٰةِ
in the morning
wal-ʿashiyi
وَٱلْعَشِىِّ
and the evening
yurīdūna
يُرِيدُونَ
desiring
wajhahu
وَجْهَهُۥۖ
His Countenance
مَا
Not
ʿalayka
عَلَيْكَ
(is) on you
min
مِنْ
of
ḥisābihim
حِسَابِهِم
their account
min
مِّن
[of]
shayin
شَىْءٍ
anything
wamā
وَمَا
and not
min
مِنْ
from
ḥisābika
حِسَابِكَ
your account
ʿalayhim
عَلَيْهِم
on them
min
مِّن
[of]
shayin
شَىْءٍ
anything
fataṭrudahum
فَتَطْرُدَهُمْ
So were you to send them away
fatakūna
فَتَكُونَ
then you would be
mina
مِنَ
of
l-ẓālimīna
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers
And do not send away those who call upon their Lord morning and afternoon, seeking His face [i.e., favor]. Not upon you is anything of their account and not upon them is anything of your account. So were you to send them away, you would [then] be of the wrongdoers. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 52)
Tafsir
53

وَكَذٰلِكَ فَتَنَّا بَعْضَهُمْ بِبَعْضٍ لِّيَقُوْلُوْٓا اَهٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ مَنَّ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِّنْۢ بَيْنِنَاۗ اَلَيْسَ اللّٰهُ بِاَعْلَمَ بِالشّٰكِرِيْنَ ٥٣

wakadhālika
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
And thus
fatannā
فَتَنَّا
We try
baʿḍahum
بَعْضَهُم
some of them
bibaʿḍin
بِبَعْضٍ
with others
liyaqūlū
لِّيَقُولُوٓا۟
that they say
ahāulāi
أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
"Are these
manna
مَنَّ
(whom has been) favored
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
(by) Allah
ʿalayhim
عَلَيْهِم
[upon them]
min
مِّنۢ
from
bayninā
بَيْنِنَآۗ
among us?"
alaysa
أَلَيْسَ
is not
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
bi-aʿlama
بِأَعْلَمَ
most knowing
bil-shākirīna
بِٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ
of those who are grateful?
And thus We have tried some of them through others that they [i.e., the disbelievers] might say, "Is it these whom Allah has favored among us?" Is not Allah most knowing of those who are grateful? (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 53)
Tafsir
54

وَاِذَا جَاۤءَكَ الَّذِيْنَ يُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِاٰيٰتِنَا فَقُلْ سَلٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ كَتَبَ رَبُّكُمْ عَلٰى نَفْسِهِ الرَّحْمَةَۙ اَنَّهٗ مَنْ عَمِلَ مِنْكُمْ سُوْۤءًاۢ بِجَهَالَةٍ ثُمَّ تَابَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِهٖ وَاَصْلَحَ فَاَنَّهٗ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ٥٤

wa-idhā
وَإِذَا
And when
jāaka
جَآءَكَ
come to you
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
yu'minūna
يُؤْمِنُونَ
believe
biāyātinā
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
in Our Verses
faqul
فَقُلْ
then say
salāmun
سَلَٰمٌ
"Peace
ʿalaykum
عَلَيْكُمْۖ
(be) upon you
kataba
كَتَبَ
(Has) Prescribed
rabbukum
رَبُّكُمْ
your Lord
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
upon
nafsihi
نَفْسِهِ
Himself
l-raḥmata
ٱلرَّحْمَةَۖ
the Mercy
annahu
أَنَّهُۥ
that he
man
مَنْ
who
ʿamila
عَمِلَ
does
minkum
مِنكُمْ
among you
sūan
سُوٓءًۢا
evil
bijahālatin
بِجَهَٰلَةٍ
in ignorance
thumma
ثُمَّ
then
tāba
تَابَ
repents
min
مِنۢ
from
baʿdihi
بَعْدِهِۦ
after it
wa-aṣlaḥa
وَأَصْلَحَ
and reforms
fa-annahu
فَأَنَّهُۥ
then, indeed He
ghafūrun
غَفُورٌ
(is) Oft-Forgiving
raḥīmun
رَّحِيمٌ
Most Merciful"
And when those come to you who believe in Our verses, say, "Peace be upon you. Your Lord has decreed upon Himself mercy: that any of you who does wrong out of ignorance and then repents after that and corrects himself – indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful." (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 54)
Tafsir
55

وَكَذٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْاٰيٰتِ وَلِتَسْتَبِيْنَ سَبِيْلُ الْمُجْرِمِيْنَ ࣖ ٥٥

wakadhālika
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
And thus
nufaṣṣilu
نُفَصِّلُ
We explain
l-āyāti
ٱلْءَايَٰتِ
the Verses
walitastabīna
وَلِتَسْتَبِينَ
so that becomes manifest
sabīlu
سَبِيلُ
(the) way
l-muj'rimīna
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
(of) the criminals
And thus do We detail the verses, and [thus] the way of the criminals will become evident. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 55)
Tafsir
56

قُلْ اِنِّيْ نُهِيْتُ اَنْ اَعْبُدَ الَّذِيْنَ تَدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ ۗ قُلْ لَّآ اَتَّبِعُ اَهْوَاۤءَكُمْۙ قَدْ ضَلَلْتُ اِذًا وَّمَآ اَنَا۠ مِنَ الْمُهْتَدِيْنَ ٥٦

قُلْ
Say
innī
إِنِّى
"Indeed I
nuhītu
نُهِيتُ
[I] am forbidden
an
أَنْ
that
aʿbuda
أَعْبُدَ
I worship
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those whom
tadʿūna
تَدْعُونَ
you call
min
مِن
from"
dūni
دُونِ
besides"
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِۚ
Allah"
qul
قُل
Say
لَّآ
"Not
attabiʿu
أَتَّبِعُ
I follow
ahwāakum
أَهْوَآءَكُمْۙ
your (vain) desires
qad
قَدْ
certainly
ḍalaltu
ضَلَلْتُ
I would go astray
idhan
إِذًا
then
wamā
وَمَآ
and not
anā
أَنَا۠
I (would be)
mina
مِنَ
from
l-muh'tadīna
ٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ
the guided-ones"
Say, "Indeed, I have been forbidden to worship those you invoke besides Allah." Say, "I will not follow your desires, for I would then have gone astray, and I would not be of the [rightly] guided." (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 56)
Tafsir
57

قُلْ اِنِّيْ عَلٰى بَيِّنَةٍ مِّنْ رَّبِّيْ وَكَذَّبْتُمْ بِهٖۗ مَا عِنْدِيْ مَا تَسْتَعْجِلُوْنَ بِهٖۗ اِنِ الْحُكْمُ اِلَّا لِلّٰهِ ۗيَقُصُّ الْحَقَّ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الْفَاصِلِيْنَ ٥٧

قُلْ
Say
innī
إِنِّى
"Indeed I am
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
on
bayyinatin
بَيِّنَةٍ
clear proof
min
مِّن
from
rabbī
رَّبِّى
my Lord
wakadhabtum
وَكَذَّبْتُم
while you deny
bihi
بِهِۦۚ
[with] it
مَا
Not
ʿindī
عِندِى
I have
مَا
what
tastaʿjilūna
تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
you seek to hasten
bihi
بِهِۦٓۚ
of it
ini
إِنِ
Not
l-ḥuk'mu
ٱلْحُكْمُ
(is) the decision
illā
إِلَّا
except
lillahi
لِلَّهِۖ
for Allah
yaquṣṣu
يَقُصُّ
He relates
l-ḥaqa
ٱلْحَقَّۖ
the truth
wahuwa
وَهُوَ
and He
khayru
خَيْرُ
(is the) best
l-fāṣilīna
ٱلْفَٰصِلِينَ
(of) the Deciders"
Say, "Indeed, I am on clear evidence from my Lord, and you have denied it. I do not have that for which you are impatient. The decision is only for Allah. He relates the truth, and He is the best of deciders." (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 57)
Tafsir
58

قُلْ لَّوْ اَنَّ عِنْدِيْ مَا تَسْتَعْجِلُوْنَ بِهٖ لَقُضِيَ الْاَمْرُ بَيْنِيْ وَبَيْنَكُمْ ۗوَاللّٰهُ اَعْلَمُ بِالظّٰلِمِيْنَ ٥٨

قُل
Say
law
لَّوْ
"If
anna
أَنَّ
that
ʿindī
عِندِى
(were) with me
مَا
what
tastaʿjilūna
تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
you seek to hasten
bihi
بِهِۦ
of it
laquḍiya
لَقُضِىَ
surely would have been decided
l-amru
ٱلْأَمْرُ
the matter
baynī
بَيْنِى
between me
wabaynakum
وَبَيْنَكُمْۗ
and between you
wal-lahu
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
aʿlamu
أَعْلَمُ
(is) most knowing
bil-ẓālimīna
بِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
of the wrongdoers
Say, "If I had that for which you are impatient, the matter would have been decided between me and you, but Allah is most knowing of the wrongdoers." (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 58)
Tafsir
59

۞ وَعِنْدَهٗ مَفَاتِحُ الْغَيْبِ لَا يَعْلَمُهَآ اِلَّا هُوَۗ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِى الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِۗ وَمَا تَسْقُطُ مِنْ وَّرَقَةٍ اِلَّا يَعْلَمُهَا وَلَا حَبَّةٍ فِيْ ظُلُمٰتِ الْاَرْضِ وَلَا رَطْبٍ وَّلَا يَابِسٍ اِلَّا فِيْ كِتٰبٍ مُّبِيْنٍ ٥٩

waʿindahu
وَعِندَهُۥ
And with Him
mafātiḥu
مَفَاتِحُ
(are the) keys
l-ghaybi
ٱلْغَيْبِ
(of) the unseen
لَا
no (one)
yaʿlamuhā
يَعْلَمُهَآ
knows them
illā
إِلَّا
except
huwa
هُوَۚ
Him
wayaʿlamu
وَيَعْلَمُ
And He knows
مَا
what
فِى
(is) in
l-bari
ٱلْبَرِّ
the land
wal-baḥri
وَٱلْبَحْرِۚ
and in the sea
wamā
وَمَا
And not
tasquṭu
تَسْقُطُ
falls
min
مِن
of
waraqatin
وَرَقَةٍ
any leaf
illā
إِلَّا
but
yaʿlamuhā
يَعْلَمُهَا
He knows it
walā
وَلَا
And not
ḥabbatin
حَبَّةٍ
a grain
فِى
in
ẓulumāti
ظُلُمَٰتِ
the darkness[es]
l-arḍi
ٱلْأَرْضِ
(of) the earth
walā
وَلَا
and not
raṭbin
رَطْبٍ
moist
walā
وَلَا
and not
yābisin
يَابِسٍ
dry
illā
إِلَّا
but
فِى
(is) in
kitābin
كِتَٰبٍ
a Record
mubīnin
مُّبِينٍ
Clear
And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. And He knows what is on the land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls but that He knows it. And no grain is there within the darknesses of the earth and no moist or dry [thing] but that it is [written] in a clear record. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 59)
Tafsir
60

وَهُوَ الَّذِيْ يَتَوَفّٰىكُمْ بِالَّيْلِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا جَرَحْتُمْ بِالنَّهَارِ ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُكُمْ فِيْهِ لِيُقْضٰٓى اَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّىۚ ثُمَّ اِلَيْهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ ࣖ ٦٠

wahuwa
وَهُوَ
And He
alladhī
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
yatawaffākum
يَتَوَفَّىٰكُم
takes your (soul)
bi-al-layli
بِٱلَّيْلِ
by the night
wayaʿlamu
وَيَعْلَمُ
and He knows
مَا
what
jaraḥtum
جَرَحْتُم
you committed
bil-nahāri
بِٱلنَّهَارِ
by the day
thumma
ثُمَّ
Then
yabʿathukum
يَبْعَثُكُمْ
He raises you up
fīhi
فِيهِ
therein
liyuq'ḍā
لِيُقْضَىٰٓ
so that is fulfilled
ajalun
أَجَلٌ
(the) term
musamman
مُّسَمًّىۖ
specified
thumma
ثُمَّ
Then
ilayhi
إِلَيْهِ
to Him
marjiʿukum
مَرْجِعُكُمْ
will be your return
thumma
ثُمَّ
then
yunabbi-ukum
يُنَبِّئُكُم
He will inform you
bimā
بِمَا
about what
kuntum
كُنتُمْ
you used to
taʿmalūna
تَعْمَلُونَ
do
And it is He who takes your souls by night and knows what you have committed by day. Then He revives you therein [i.e., by day] that a specified term may be fulfilled. Then to Him will be your return; then He will inform you about what you used to do. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 60)
