Surah Al-An'am - Page: 17

(The Cattle)

161

قُلْ اِنَّنِيْ هَدٰىنِيْ رَبِّيْٓ اِلٰى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيْمٍ ەۚ دِيْنًا قِيَمًا مِّلَّةَ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ حَنِيْفًاۚ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِيْنَ ١٦١

قُلْ
Say
innanī
إِنَّنِى
"Indeed (as for) me
hadānī
هَدَىٰنِى
has guided me
rabbī
رَبِّىٓ
my Lord
ilā
إِلَىٰ
to
ṣirāṭin
صِرَٰطٍ
a path
mus'taqīmin
مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
straight
dīnan
دِينًا
a religion
qiyaman
قِيَمًا
right
millata
مِّلَّةَ
religion
ib'rāhīma
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
(of) Ibrahim
ḥanīfan
حَنِيفًاۚ
a true monotheist
wamā
وَمَا
And not
kāna
كَانَ
he was
mina
مِنَ
from
l-mush'rikīna
ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
the polytheists
Say, "Indeed, my Lord has guided me to a straight path – a correct religion – the way of Abraham, inclining toward truth. And he was not among those who associated others with Allah." (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 161)
Tafsir
162

قُلْ اِنَّ صَلَاتِيْ وَنُسُكِيْ وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِيْ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَۙ ١٦٢

qul
قُلْ
Say
inna
إِنَّ
"Indeed
ṣalātī
صَلَاتِى
my prayer
wanusukī
وَنُسُكِى
and my rites of sacrifice
wamaḥyāya
وَمَحْيَاىَ
and my living
wamamātī
وَمَمَاتِى
and my dying
lillahi
لِلَّهِ
(are) for Allah
rabbi
رَبِّ
Lord
l-ʿālamīna
ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
(of) the worlds
Say, "Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 162)
Tafsir
163

لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهٗ ۚوَبِذٰلِكَ اُمِرْتُ وَاَنَا۠ اَوَّلُ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ ١٦٣

لَا
No
sharīka
شَرِيكَ
partners
lahu
لَهُۥۖ
for Him;
wabidhālika
وَبِذَٰلِكَ
and with that
umir'tu
أُمِرْتُ
I have been commanded
wa-anā
وَأَنَا۠
And I am
awwalu
أَوَّلُ
(the) first
l-mus'limīna
ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
(of) the ones who surrender (to Him)
No partner has He. And this I have been commanded, and I am the first [among you] of the Muslims." (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 163)
Tafsir
164

قُلْ اَغَيْرَ اللّٰهِ اَبْغِيْ رَبًّا وَّهُوَ رَبُّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍۗ وَلَا تَكْسِبُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ اِلَّا عَلَيْهَاۚ وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِّزْرَ اُخْرٰىۚ ثُمَّ اِلٰى رَبِّكُمْ مَّرْجِعُكُمْ فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ فِيْهِ تَخْتَلِفُوْنَ ١٦٤

Say
aghayra
أَغَيْرَ
"Is (it) other than
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
abghī
أَبْغِى
I (should) seek
rabban
رَبًّا
(as) a Lord
wahuwa
وَهُوَ
while He
rabbu
رَبُّ
(is) the Lord
kulli
كُلِّ
(of) every
shayin
شَىْءٍۚ
thing?"
walā
وَلَا
And not
taksibu
تَكْسِبُ
earns
kullu
كُلُّ
every
nafsin
نَفْسٍ
soul
illā
إِلَّا
except
ʿalayhā
عَلَيْهَاۚ
against itself
walā
وَلَا
and not
taziru
تَزِرُ
bears
wāziratun
وَازِرَةٌ
any bearer of burden
wiz'ra
وِزْرَ
burden
ukh'rā
أُخْرَىٰۚ
(of) another
thumma
ثُمَّ
Then
ilā
إِلَىٰ
to
rabbikum
رَبِّكُم
your Lord
marjiʿukum
مَّرْجِعُكُمْ
(is) your return
fayunabbi-ukum
فَيُنَبِّئُكُم
then He will inform you
bimā
بِمَا
about what
kuntum
كُنتُمْ
you were
fīhi
فِيهِ
concerning it
takhtalifūna
تَخْتَلِفُونَ
differing
Say, "Is it other than Allah I should desire as a lord while He is the Lord of all things? And every soul earns not [blame] except against itself, and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you concerning that over which you used to differ." (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 164)
Tafsir
165

وَهُوَ الَّذِيْ جَعَلَكُمْ خَلٰۤىِٕفَ الْاَرْضِ وَرَفَعَ بَعْضَكُمْ فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ دَرَجٰتٍ لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِيْ مَآ اٰتٰىكُمْۗ اِنَّ رَبَّكَ سَرِيْعُ الْعِقَابِۖ وَاِنَّهٗ لَغَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ࣖ ١٦٥

wahuwa
وَهُوَ
And He
alladhī
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
jaʿalakum
جَعَلَكُمْ
(has) made you
khalāifa
خَلَٰٓئِفَ
successors
l-arḍi
ٱلْأَرْضِ
(of) the earth
warafaʿa
وَرَفَعَ
and raised
baʿḍakum
بَعْضَكُمْ
some of you
fawqa
فَوْقَ
above
baʿḍin
بَعْضٍ
others
darajātin
دَرَجَٰتٍ
(in) ranks
liyabluwakum
لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ
so that He may test you
فِى
in
مَآ
what
ātākum
ءَاتَىٰكُمْۗ
He has given you
inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
rabbaka
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
sarīʿu
سَرِيعُ
(is) swift
l-ʿiqābi
ٱلْعِقَابِ
(in) the punishment
wa-innahu
وَإِنَّهُۥ
and indeed He (is)
laghafūrun
لَغَفُورٌ
[certainly] Oft-Forgiving
raḥīmun
رَّحِيمٌۢ
Most Merciful
And it is He who has made you successors upon the earth and has raised some of you above others in degrees [of rank] that He may try you through what He has given you. Indeed, your Lord is swift in penalty; but indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 165)
