Surah Al-An'am - Page: 11

(The Cattle)

101

بَدِيْعُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۗ اَنّٰى يَكُوْنُ لَهٗ وَلَدٌ وَّلَمْ تَكُنْ لَّهٗ صَاحِبَةٌ ۗوَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍۚ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمٌ ١٠١

بَدِيعُ
Originator
l-samāwāti
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
(of) the heavens
wal-arḍi
وَٱلْأَرْضِۖ
and the earth
annā
أَنَّىٰ
How
yakūnu
يَكُونُ
can be
lahu
لَهُۥ
for Him
waladun
وَلَدٌ
a son
walam
وَلَمْ
while not
takun
تَكُن
(there) is
lahu
لَّهُۥ
for Him
ṣāḥibatun
صَٰحِبَةٌۖ
a companion
wakhalaqa
وَخَلَقَ
and He created
kulla
كُلَّ
every
shayin
شَىْءٍۖ
thing?
wahuwa
وَهُوَ
And He
bikulli
بِكُلِّ
(is) of every
shayin
شَىْءٍ
thing
ʿalīmun
عَلِيمٌ
All-Knower
[He is] Originator of the heavens and the earth. How could He have a son when He does not have a companion [i.e., wife] and He created all things? And He is, of all things, Knowing. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 101)
Tafsir
102

ذٰلِكُمُ اللّٰهُ رَبُّكُمْۚ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَۚ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ فَاعْبُدُوْهُ ۚوَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَّكِيْلٌ ١٠٢

dhālikumu
ذَٰلِكُمُ
That
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
(is) Allah
rabbukum
رَبُّكُمْۖ
your Lord
لَآ
(there is) no
ilāha
إِلَٰهَ
god
illā
إِلَّا
except
huwa
هُوَۖ
Him
khāliqu
خَٰلِقُ
(the) Creator
kulli
كُلِّ
(of) every
shayin
شَىْءٍ
thing
fa-uʿ'budūhu
فَٱعْبُدُوهُۚ
so worship Him
wahuwa
وَهُوَ
And He
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
(is) on
kulli
كُلِّ
every
shayin
شَىْءٍ
thing
wakīlun
وَكِيلٌ
a Guardian
That is Allah, your Lord; there is no deity except Him, the Creator of all things, so worship Him. And He is Disposer of all things. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 102)
Tafsir
103

لَا تُدْرِكُهُ الْاَبْصَارُ وَهُوَ يُدْرِكُ الْاَبْصَارَۚ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيْفُ الْخَبِيْرُ ١٠٣

لَّا
(Can) not
tud'rikuhu
تُدْرِكُهُ
grasp Him
l-abṣāru
ٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ
the visions
wahuwa
وَهُوَ
but He
yud'riku
يُدْرِكُ
(can) grasp
l-abṣāra
ٱلْأَبْصَٰرَۖ
(all) the vision
wahuwa
وَهُوَ
and He (is)
l-laṭīfu
ٱللَّطِيفُ
the All-Subtle
l-khabīru
ٱلْخَبِيرُ
the All-Aware
Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision; and He is the Subtle, the Aware. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 103)
Tafsir
104

قَدْ جَاۤءَكُمْ بَصَاۤىِٕرُ مِنْ رَّبِّكُمْۚ فَمَنْ اَبْصَرَ فَلِنَفْسِهٖۚ وَمَنْ عَمِيَ فَعَلَيْهَاۗ وَمَآ اَنَا۠ عَلَيْكُمْ بِحَفِيْظٍ ١٠٤

Verily
jāakum
جَآءَكُم
has come to you
baṣāiru
بَصَآئِرُ
enlightenment
min
مِن
from
rabbikum
رَّبِّكُمْۖ
your Lord
faman
فَمَنْ
Then whoever
abṣara
أَبْصَرَ
sees
falinafsihi
فَلِنَفْسِهِۦۖ
then (it is) for his soul
waman
وَمَنْ
and whoever
ʿamiya
عَمِىَ
(is) blind
faʿalayhā
فَعَلَيْهَاۚ
then (it is) against himself
wamā
وَمَآ
And not
anā
أَنَا۠
(am) I
ʿalaykum
عَلَيْكُم
over you
biḥafīẓin
بِحَفِيظٍ
a guardian
There has come to you enlightenment from your Lord. So whoever will see does so for [the benefit of] his soul, and whoever is blind [does harm] against it. And [say], "I am not a guardian over you." (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 104)
Tafsir
105

وَكَذٰلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ الْاٰيٰتِ وَلِيَقُوْلُوْا دَرَسْتَ وَلِنُبَيِّنَهٗ لِقَوْمٍ يَّعْلَمُوْنَ ١٠٥

wakadhālika
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
And thus
nuṣarrifu
نُصَرِّفُ
We explain
l-āyāti
ٱلْءَايَٰتِ
the Signs
waliyaqūlū
وَلِيَقُولُوا۟
that they (may) say
darasta
دَرَسْتَ
"You have studied"
walinubayyinahu
وَلِنُبَيِّنَهُۥ
and that We (may) make it clear
liqawmin
لِقَوْمٍ
for a people
yaʿlamūna
يَعْلَمُونَ
who know
And thus do We diversify the verses so they [i.e., the disbelievers] will say, "You have studied," and so We may make it [i.e., the Quran] clear for a people who know. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 105)
Tafsir
106

اِتَّبِعْ مَآ اُوْحِيَ اِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَّبِّكَۚ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَۚ وَاَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْمُشْرِكِيْنَ ١٠٦

ittabiʿ
ٱتَّبِعْ
Follow
مَآ
what
ūḥiya
أُوحِىَ
has been inspired
ilayka
إِلَيْكَ
to you
min
مِن
from
rabbika
رَّبِّكَۖ
your Lord
لَآ
(there is) no
ilāha
إِلَٰهَ
god
illā
إِلَّا
except
huwa
هُوَۖ
Him
wa-aʿriḍ
وَأَعْرِضْ
and turn away
ʿani
عَنِ
from
l-mush'rikīna
ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
the polytheists
Follow, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you from your Lord – there is no deity except Him – and turn away from those who associate others with Allah. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 106)
Tafsir
107

وَلَوْ شَاۤءَ اللّٰهُ مَآ اَشْرَكُوْاۗ وَمَا جَعَلْنٰكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيْظًاۚ وَمَآ اَنْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِوَكِيْلٍ ١٠٧

walaw
وَلَوْ
And if
shāa
شَآءَ
(had) willed
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
مَآ
not (they would have)
ashrakū
أَشْرَكُوا۟ۗ
associated partners (with Him)
wamā
وَمَا
And not
jaʿalnāka
جَعَلْنَٰكَ
We have made you
ʿalayhim
عَلَيْهِمْ
over them
ḥafīẓan
حَفِيظًاۖ
a guardian
wamā
وَمَآ
and not
anta
أَنتَ
you
ʿalayhim
عَلَيْهِم
(are) over them
biwakīlin
بِوَكِيلٍ
a manager
But if Allah had willed, they would not have associated. And We have not appointed you over them as a guardian, nor are you a manager over them. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 107)
Tafsir
108

وَلَا تَسُبُّوا الَّذِيْنَ يَدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ فَيَسُبُّوا اللّٰهَ عَدْوًاۢ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍۗ كَذٰلِكَ زَيَّنَّا لِكُلِّ اُمَّةٍ عَمَلَهُمْۖ ثُمَّ اِلٰى رَبِّهِمْ مَّرْجِعُهُمْ فَيُنَبِّئُهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ ١٠٨

وَلَا
And (do) not
tasubbū
تَسُبُّوا۟
insult
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those whom
yadʿūna
يَدْعُونَ
they invoke
min
مِن
from
dūni
دُونِ
other than
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
fayasubbū
فَيَسُبُّوا۟
lest they insult
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
ʿadwan
عَدْوًۢا
(in) enmity
bighayri
بِغَيْرِ
without
ʿil'min
عِلْمٍۗ
knowledge
kadhālika
كَذَٰلِكَ
Thus
zayyannā
زَيَّنَّا
We have made fair-seeming
likulli
لِكُلِّ
to every
ummatin
أُمَّةٍ
community
ʿamalahum
عَمَلَهُمْ
their deed
thumma
ثُمَّ
Then
ilā
إِلَىٰ
to
rabbihim
رَبِّهِم
their Lord
marjiʿuhum
مَّرْجِعُهُمْ
(is) their return
fayunabbi-uhum
فَيُنَبِّئُهُم
then He will inform them
bimā
بِمَا
about what
kānū
كَانُوا۟
they used to
yaʿmalūna
يَعْمَلُونَ
do
And do not insult those they invoke other than Allah, lest they insult Allah in enmity without knowledge. Thus We have made pleasing to every community their deeds. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them about what they used to do. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 108)
Tafsir
109

وَاَقْسَمُوْا بِاللّٰهِ جَهْدَ اَيْمَانِهِمْ لَىِٕنْ جَاۤءَتْهُمْ اٰيَةٌ لَّيُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهَاۗ قُلْ اِنَّمَا الْاٰيٰتُ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ وَمَا يُشْعِرُكُمْ اَنَّهَآ اِذَا جَاۤءَتْ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ ١٠٩

wa-aqsamū
وَأَقْسَمُوا۟
And they swear
bil-lahi
بِٱللَّهِ
by Allah
jahda
جَهْدَ
strongest
aymānihim
أَيْمَٰنِهِمْ
(of) their oaths
la-in
لَئِن
that if
jāathum
جَآءَتْهُمْ
came to them
āyatun
ءَايَةٌ
a sign
layu'minunna
لَّيُؤْمِنُنَّ
they would surely believe
bihā
بِهَاۚ
in it
qul
قُلْ
Say
innamā
إِنَّمَا
"Only
l-āyātu
ٱلْءَايَٰتُ
the signs
ʿinda
عِندَ
(are) with
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِۖ
Allah"
wamā
وَمَا
And what
yush'ʿirukum
يُشْعِرُكُمْ
will make you perceive
annahā
أَنَّهَآ
that [it]
idhā
إِذَا
when
jāat
جَآءَتْ
it comes
لَا
not
yu'minūna
يُؤْمِنُونَ
they will believe
And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths that if a sign came to them, they would surely believe in it. Say, "The signs are only with [i.e., from] Allah." And what will make you perceive that even if it [i.e., a sign] came, they would not believe. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 109)
Tafsir
110

وَنُقَلِّبُ اَفْـِٕدَتَهُمْ وَاَبْصَارَهُمْ كَمَا لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوْا بِهٖٓ اَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَّنَذَرُهُمْ فِيْ طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُوْنَ ࣖ ۔ ١١٠

wanuqallibu
وَنُقَلِّبُ
And We will turn
afidatahum
أَفْـِٔدَتَهُمْ
their hearts
wa-abṣārahum
وَأَبْصَٰرَهُمْ
and their sights
kamā
كَمَا
(just) as
lam
لَمْ
not
yu'minū
يُؤْمِنُوا۟
they believe
bihi
بِهِۦٓ
in it
awwala
أَوَّلَ
(the) first
marratin
مَرَّةٍ
time
wanadharuhum
وَنَذَرُهُمْ
And We will leave them
فِى
in
ṭugh'yānihim
طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ
their transgression
yaʿmahūna
يَعْمَهُونَ
wandering blindly
And We will turn away their hearts and their eyes just as they refused to believe in it [i.e., the revelation] the first time. And We will leave them in their transgression, wandering blindly. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 110)
