Al-Hashr [59]: 8 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

لِلْفُقَرَاۤءِ الْمُهٰجِرِيْنَ الَّذِيْنَ اُخْرِجُوْا مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ وَاَمْوَالِهِمْ يَبْتَغُوْنَ فَضْلًا مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَرِضْوَانًا وَّيَنْصُرُوْنَ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ ۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الصّٰدِقُوْنَۚ (الحشر : ٥٩)

وَأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ

فَضْلًا
bounty

l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
wariḍ'wānan
وَرِضْوَٰنًا
and pleasure
wayanṣurūna
وَيَنصُرُونَ
and helping
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
warasūlahu
وَرَسُولَهُۥٓۚ
and His Messenger
ulāika
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
Those
humu
هُمُ
they
l-ṣādiqūna
ٱلصَّٰدِقُونَ
(are) the truthful

Transliteration:

Lilfuqaraaa'il Muhaaji reenal lazeena ukhrijoo min diyaarihim wa amwaalihim yabtaghoona fadlam minal laahi wa ridwaananw wa yansuroonal laaha wa Rasoolah; ulaaa'ika humus saadiqoon (QS. al-Ḥašr:8)

English / Sahih Translation:

For the poor emigrants who were expelled from their homes and their properties, seeking bounty from Allah and [His] approval and supporting [the cause of] Allah and His Messenger, [there is also a share]. Those are the truthful. (QS. Al-Hashr, ayah 8)

Mufti Taqi Usmani

(And fai’ is especially) for the poor emigrants who were expelled from their homes and properties, while they were seeking Allah’s grace and pleasure, and were helping (the religion of) Allah and His Messenger. They are the truthful.

˹Some of the gains will be˺ for poor emigrants who were driven out of their homes and wealth, seeking Allah’s bounty and pleasure, and standing up for Allah and His Messenger. They are the ones true in faith.

For the poor emigrants [there is a due share] who were driven out of their homes and their properties, seeking Allah’s bounty and pleasure, and helping the cause of Allah and His Messenger. It is they who are the truthful.

(Some part is due) to the indigent Muhajirs, those who were expelled from their homes and their property, while seeking Grace from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure, and aiding Allah and His Messenger; such are indeed the sincere ones;-

It also belongs to the poor Emigrants who have been driven out of their homes and their possessions, those who seek Allah's favour and good pleasure and help Allah and His Messenger. Such are the truthful ones.

The spoils are also for the poor emigrants who were deprived of their homes and possessions and are seeking the bounty and protection of God, and are helping God and His Apostle. They are the ones who are true of word and deed.

Ahmed Raza Khan

And (the booty is) also for the poor migrants who were expelled from their homes and their wealth, seeking Allah’s munificence and His pleasure, and aiding Allah and His Noble Messenger; it is they who are the truthful.

Ali Quli Qarai

[They are also] for the poor Emigrants who have been expelled from their homes and [wrested of] their possessions, who seek grace from Allah and [His] pleasure and help Allah and His Apostle. It is they who are the truthful.

It is also for the poor Emigrants, who have been driven from their homes and their property, seeking favor with God and His approval and good pleasure, and who help (the cause of) God and His Messenger. Those are they who are truthful (in their profession of faith and loyalty to its commands).

Amatul Rahman Omar

(The wealth so obtained is also meant) for the poor (indigent) Refugees (- Muhâjirîn) who have been turned out of their houses and (made to part with) their possessions (while they were) seeking the grace and bounty from Allâh and (His) good pleasure, and who helped (the cause of) Allâh and His Messenger. They are the people who prove their claim (of being sincere in their faith and) to be true.

English Literal

To the poorest of poor/poor oppressed the emigrants those who were brought out/driven out from their houses/homes and their properties/possessions , they wish/desire grace/favour from God, and an acceptance/approval , and they give victory/aid (to) God and His messenger, those, they are the truthful.

Faridul Haque

And (the booty is) also for the poor migrants who were expelled from their homes and their wealth, seeking Allah’s munificence and His pleasure, and aiding Allah and His Noble Messenger; it is they who are the truthful.

Hamid S. Aziz

It is for the poor who fled their homes and their possessions, seeking the grace of Allah and His good pleasure, and assisting Allah and His Apostle: these it is that are the sincere.

(And there is also a share in this booty) for the poor emigrants, who were expelled from their homes and their property, seeking Bounties from Allah and to please Him. And helping Allah (i.e. helping His religion) and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW). Such are indeed the truthful (to what they say);

Whatever Allah restored to His Messenger from the people of the towns, it is for Allah and for the Messenger, and for the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, so that it be not taken by turns by the rich among you. And whatever the Messenger gives you, accept it, and whatever he forbids you, abstain (therefrom); and keep your duty to Allah. Surely Allah is Severe in retribution.

Mohammad Habib Shakir

(It is) for the poor who fled their homes and their possessions, seeking grace of Allah and (His) pleasure, and assisting Allah and His Apostle: these it is that are the truthful.

And (it is) for the poor fugitives who have been driven out from their homes and their belongings, who seek bounty from Allah and help Allah and His messenger. They are the loyal.

The poor immigrants who were deprived of their homes and property, who seek favors and pleasures from God, and help Him and His Messenger will also have (a share in the said property). These people are the truthful ones.

Qaribullah & Darwish

(A share of the spoils shall also be given) to the poor emigrants who were expelled from their homes and their possessions, who seek the Favor and Pleasure of Allah, and help Allah and His Messenger. These are they that are truthful.

Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri

(And there is also a share in this booty) for the poor emigrants, who were expelled from their homes and their property, seeking bounties from Allah and (His) good pleasure, and helping Allah and His Messenger. Such are indeed the truthful.

Wahiduddin Khan

It is for the poor refugees who were driven from their homes and possessions, desiring the favour and the pleasure of God and supporting God and His Messenger. Such people are the truthful.

Talal Itani

To the poor refugees who were driven out of their homes and their possessions, as they sought the favor of God and His approval, and came to the aid of God and His Messenger. These are the sincere.

Tafsir jalalayn

[At] the poor Emigrants (li'l-fuqar'i is semantically connected to an omitted [verb], that is to say, a-`ajib, `What! Do they marvel [at the poor Emigrants]') who have been driven away from their homes and their possessions that they should seek bounty from God and beatitude and help God and His Messenger? Those -- they are the sincere, in their faith.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

Those Who deserve the Fai'; and the Virtues of the Muhajirin and Al-Ansar

Allah states;

لِلْفُقَرَاء الْمُهَاجِرِينَ

(And there is also a share in this booty) for the poor emigrants,

Allah states the categories of needy people who also deserve a part of the Fai',

الَّذِينَ أُخْرِجُوا مِن دِيارِهِمْ وَأَمْوَالِهِمْ

يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلً مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَرِضْوَانًا

who were expelled from their homes and their property, seeking bounties from Allah and (His) good pleasure,

meaning, departed their homes and defied their people, seeking the acceptance of Allah and His favor,

وَيَنصُرُونَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ

أُوْلَيِكَ هُمُ الصَّادِقُونَ



and helping Allah and His Messenger. Such are indeed the truthful.

meaning, `they are those who were truthful in statement and deed, and they are the chiefs of the Muhajirin.'

Allah the Exalted praised the Ansar next and emphasized their virtue, status and honor, preferring to give to others over themselves, even though they were in need, and not feeling enviousness.

Allah the Exalted said
