اِنَّآ اَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةً وَّاحِدَةً فَكَانُوْا كَهَشِيْمِ الْمُحْتَظِرِ ٣١
- innā
- إِنَّآ
- Indeed We
- arsalnā
- أَرْسَلْنَا
- [We] sent
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- upon them
- ṣayḥatan
- صَيْحَةً
- thunderous blast
- wāḥidatan
- وَٰحِدَةً
- single
- fakānū
- فَكَانُوا۟
- and they became
- kahashīmi
- كَهَشِيمِ
- like dry twig fragments
- l-muḥ'taẓiri
- ٱلْمُحْتَظِرِ
- (used by) a fence builder
Indeed, We sent upon them one shriek [i.e., blast from the sky], and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen. (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 31)Tafsir
32
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْاٰنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُّدَّكِرٍ ٣٢
- walaqad
- وَلَقَدْ
- And certainly
- yassarnā
- يَسَّرْنَا
- We have made easy
- l-qur'āna
- ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
- the Quran
- lildhik'ri
- لِلذِّكْرِ
- for remembrance
- fahal
- فَهَلْ
- so is (there)
- min
- مِن
- any
- muddakirin
- مُّدَّكِرٍ
- who will receive admonition?
And We have certainly made the Quran easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 32)Tafsir
33
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوْطٍ ۢبِالنُّذُرِ ٣٣
- kadhabat
- كَذَّبَتْ
- Denied
- qawmu
- قَوْمُ
- (the) people
- lūṭin
- لُوطٍۭ
- (of) Lut
- bil-nudhuri
- بِٱلنُّذُرِ
- the warnings
The people of Lot denied the warning. (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 33)Tafsir
34
اِنَّآ اَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا اِلَّآ اٰلَ لُوْطٍ ۗنَجَّيْنٰهُمْ بِسَحَرٍۙ ٣٤
- innā
- إِنَّآ
- Indeed We
- arsalnā
- أَرْسَلْنَا
- [We] sent
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- upon them
- ḥāṣiban
- حَاصِبًا
- a storm of stones
- illā
- إِلَّآ
- except
- āla
- ءَالَ
- (the) family
- lūṭin
- لُوطٍۖ
- (of) Lut
- najjaynāhum
- نَّجَّيْنَٰهُم
- We saved them
- bisaḥarin
- بِسَحَرٍ
- by dawn
Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot – We saved them before dawn. (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 34)Tafsir
35
نِّعْمَةً مِّنْ عِنْدِنَاۗ كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِيْ مَنْ شَكَرَ ٣٥
- niʿ'matan
- نِّعْمَةً
- (As) a favor
- min
- مِّنْ
- from
- ʿindinā
- عِندِنَاۚ
- Us
- kadhālika
- كَذَٰلِكَ
- Thus
- najzī
- نَجْزِى
- We reward
- man
- مَن
- (one) who
- shakara
- شَكَرَ
- (is) grateful
As favor from Us. Thus do We reward he who is grateful. (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 35)Tafsir
36
وَلَقَدْ اَنْذَرَهُمْ بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا بِالنُّذُرِ ٣٦
- walaqad
- وَلَقَدْ
- And certainly
- andharahum
- أَنذَرَهُم
- he warned them
- baṭshatanā
- بَطْشَتَنَا
- (of) Our seizure
- fatamāraw
- فَتَمَارَوْا۟
- but they disputed
- bil-nudhuri
- بِٱلنُّذُرِ
- the warnings
And he had already warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warning. (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 36)Tafsir
37
وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدُوْهُ عَنْ ضَيْفِهٖ فَطَمَسْنَآ اَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوْقُوْا عَذَابِيْ وَنُذُرِ ٣٧
- walaqad
- وَلَقَدْ
- And certainly
- rāwadūhu
- رَٰوَدُوهُ
- they demanded from him
- ʿan
- عَن
- they demanded from him
- ḍayfihi
- ضَيْفِهِۦ
- his guests
- faṭamasnā
- فَطَمَسْنَآ
- so We blinded
- aʿyunahum
- أَعْيُنَهُمْ
- their eyes
- fadhūqū
- فَذُوقُوا۟
- "So taste
- ʿadhābī
- عَذَابِى
- My punishment
- wanudhuri
- وَنُذُرِ
- and My warnings"
And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning." (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 37)Tafsir
38
وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُمْ بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ مُّسْتَقِرٌّۚ ٣٨
- walaqad
- وَلَقَدْ
- And certainly
- ṣabbaḥahum
- صَبَّحَهُم
- seized them in the morning
- buk'ratan
- بُكْرَةً
- early
- ʿadhābun
- عَذَابٌ
- a punishment
- mus'taqirrun
- مُّسْتَقِرٌّ
- abiding
And there came upon them by morning an abiding punishment. (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 38)Tafsir
39
فَذُوْقُوْا عَذَابِيْ وَنُذُرِ ٣٩
- fadhūqū
- فَذُوقُوا۟
- So taste
- ʿadhābī
- عَذَابِى
- My punishment
- wanudhuri
- وَنُذُرِ
- and My warnings
So taste My punishment and warning. (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 39)Tafsir
40
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْاٰنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُّدَّكِرٍ ࣖ ٤٠
- walaqad
- وَلَقَدْ
- And certainly
