Surah Al-Qamar - Page: 2

(The Moon)

11

فَفَتَحْنَآ اَبْوَابَ السَّمَاۤءِ بِمَاۤءٍ مُّنْهَمِرٍۖ ١١

fafataḥnā
فَفَتَحْنَآ
So We opened
abwāba
أَبْوَٰبَ
(the) gates
l-samāi
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
(of) heaven
bimāin
بِمَآءٍ
with water
mun'hamirin
مُّنْهَمِرٍ
pouring down
Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 11)
Tafsir
12

وَّفَجَّرْنَا الْاَرْضَ عُيُوْنًا فَالْتَقَى الْمَاۤءُ عَلٰٓى اَمْرٍ قَدْ قُدِرَ ۚ ١٢

wafajjarnā
وَفَجَّرْنَا
And We caused to burst
l-arḍa
ٱلْأَرْضَ
the earth
ʿuyūnan
عُيُونًا
(with) springs
fal-taqā
فَٱلْتَقَى
so met
l-māu
ٱلْمَآءُ
the water(s)
ʿalā
عَلَىٰٓ
for
amrin
أَمْرٍ
a matter
qad
قَدْ
already
qudira
قُدِرَ
predestined
And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined. (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 12)
Tafsir
13

وَحَمَلْنٰهُ عَلٰى ذَاتِ اَلْوَاحٍ وَّدُسُرٍۙ ١٣

waḥamalnāhu
وَحَمَلْنَٰهُ
And We carried him
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
on
dhāti
ذَاتِ
(ark) made of planks
alwāḥin
أَلْوَٰحٍ
(ark) made of planks
wadusurin
وَدُسُرٍ
and nails
And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails, (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 13)
Tafsir
14

تَجْرِيْ بِاَعْيُنِنَاۚ جَزَاۤءً لِّمَنْ كَانَ كُفِرَ ١٤

tajrī
تَجْرِى
Sailing
bi-aʿyuninā
بِأَعْيُنِنَا
before Our eyes
jazāan
جَزَآءً
a reward
liman
لِّمَن
for (he) who
kāna
كَانَ
was
kufira
كُفِرَ
denied
Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied. (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 14)
Tafsir
15

وَلَقَدْ تَّرَكْنٰهَآ اٰيَةً فَهَلْ مِنْ مُّدَّكِرٍ ١٥

walaqad
وَلَقَد
And certainly
taraknāhā
تَّرَكْنَٰهَآ
We left it
āyatan
ءَايَةً
(as) a Sign
fahal
فَهَلْ
so is (there)
min
مِن
any
muddakirin
مُّدَّكِرٍ
who will receive admonition?
And We left it as a sign, so is there any who will remember? (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 15)
Tafsir
16

فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِيْ وَنُذُرِ ١٦

fakayfa
فَكَيْفَ
So how
kāna
كَانَ
was
ʿadhābī
عَذَابِى
My punishment
wanudhuri
وَنُذُرِ
and My warnings?
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 16)
Tafsir
17

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْاٰنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُّدَّكِرٍ ١٧

walaqad
وَلَقَدْ
And certainly
yassarnā
يَسَّرْنَا
We have made easy
l-qur'āna
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
the Quran
lildhik'ri
لِلذِّكْرِ
for remembrance
fahal
فَهَلْ
so is (there)
min
مِن
any
muddakirin
مُّدَّكِرٍ
who will receive admonition?
And We have certainly made the Quran easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 17)
Tafsir
18

كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِيْ وَنُذُرِ ١٨

kadhabat
كَذَّبَتْ
Denied
ʿādun
عَادٌ
Aad;
fakayfa
فَكَيْفَ
so how
kāna
كَانَ
was
ʿadhābī
عَذَابِى
My punishment
wanudhuri
وَنُذُرِ
and My warnings?
Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning. (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 18)

19

اِنَّآ اَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيْحًا صَرْصَرًا فِيْ يَوْمِ نَحْسٍ مُّسْتَمِرٍّۙ ١٩

innā
إِنَّآ
Indeed We
arsalnā
أَرْسَلْنَا
[We] sent
ʿalayhim
عَلَيْهِمْ
upon them
rīḥan
رِيحًا
a wind
ṣarṣaran
صَرْصَرًا
furious
فِى
on
yawmi
يَوْمِ
a day
naḥsin
نَحْسٍ
(of) misfortune
mus'tamirrin
مُّسْتَمِرٍّ
continuous
Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune, (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 19)
Tafsir
20

تَنْزِعُ النَّاسَۙ كَاَنَّهُمْ اَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُّنْقَعِرٍ ٢٠

tanziʿu
تَنزِعُ
Plucking out
l-nāsa
ٱلنَّاسَ
men
ka-annahum
كَأَنَّهُمْ
as if they (were)
aʿjāzu
أَعْجَازُ
trunks
nakhlin
نَخْلٍ
(of) date-palms
munqaʿirin
مُّنقَعِرٍ
uprooted
Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted. (QS. [54] Al-Qamar: 20)
