Al-Qur'an Surah An-Najm Verse 49
An-Najm [53]: 49 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَاَنَّهٗ هُوَ رَبُّ الشِّعْرٰىۙ (النجم : ٥٣)
- wa-annahu
- وَأَنَّهُۥ
- And that He
- huwa
- هُوَ
- [He]
- rabbu
- رَبُّ
- (is the) Lord
- l-shiʿ'rā
- ٱلشِّعْرَىٰ
- (of) the Sirius
Transliteration:
Wa annahoo huwa rabbush shi'raa(QS. an-Najm:49)
English / Sahih Translation:
And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius. (QS. An-Najm, ayah 49)

And that He is the Lord of Ash-Shi`ra.
Ibn Abbas, Mujahid, Qatadah and Ibn Zayd said about Ash-Shi`ra that
it is the bright star, named Mirzam Al-Jawza' (Sirius), which a group of Arabs used to worship.
وَأَنَّهُ أَهْلَكَ عَادًا الاْأُولَى
