Al-Qur'an Surah At-Tur Verse 5
At-Tur [52]: 5 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَالسَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوْعِۙ (الطور : ٥٢)
- wal-saqfi
- وَٱلسَّقْفِ
- By the roof
- l-marfūʿi
- ٱلْمَرْفُوعِ
- raised high
Transliteration:
Wassaqfil marfoo'(QS. aṭ-Ṭūr:5)
English / Sahih Translation:
And [by] the ceiling [i.e., heaven] raised high (QS. At-Tur, ayah 5)

And by the roof raised high.
Sufyan Ath-Thawri, Shu`bah, and Abu Al-Ahwas, all narrated from Simak, from Khalid bin Ar`arah, from Ali bin Abi Talib;
"Meaning the heaven."
Sufyan added, "Then `Ali recited,
وَجَعَلْنَا السَّمَأءَ سَقْفاً مَّحْفُوظاً وَهُمْ عَنْ ءَايَـتِهَا مُعْرِضُونَ
And We have made the heaven a roof, safe and well-guarded. Yet they turn away from its signs. (21;32)"
Similar was said by Mujahid, Qatadah, As-Suddi, Ibn Jurayj, Ibn Zayd and preferred by Ibn Jarir.
The statement of Allah the Exalted,
وَالْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُورِ
