Al-Qur'an Surah Adh-Dhariyat Verse 59

Adh-Dhariyat [51]: 59 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

فَاِنَّ لِلَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا ذَنُوْبًا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوْبِ اَصْحٰبِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُوْنِ (الذاريات : ٥١)

fa-inna
فَإِنَّ
So indeed
lilladhīna
لِلَّذِينَ
for those who
ẓalamū
ظَلَمُوا۟
do wrong
dhanūban
ذَنُوبًا
(is) a portion
mith'la
مِّثْلَ
like
dhanūbi
ذَنُوبِ
(the) portion
aṣḥābihim
أَصْحَٰبِهِمْ
(of) their companions
falā
فَلَا
so let them not ask Me to hasten
yastaʿjilūni
يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ
so let them not ask Me to hasten

Transliteration:

Fa inna lillazeena zalamoo zanoobam misla zanoobi ashaabihim falaa yasta'jiloon (QS. aḏ-Ḏāriyāt:59)

English / Sahih Translation:

And indeed, for those who have wronged is a portion [of punishment] like the portion of their companions [i.e., predecessors], so let them not impatiently urge Me. (QS. Adh-Dhariyat, ayah 59)

So, those who did wrong will have their turn like the turn of their counterparts. So, they should not ask Me to hasten on.

The wrongdoers will certainly have a share ˹of the torment˺ like that of their predecessors. So do not let them ask Me to hasten ˹it˺.

For the Wrong-doers, their portion is like unto the portion of their fellows (of earlier generations); then let them not ask Me to hasten (that portion)!

The wrong-doers shall receive a portion of the chastisements as their fellows (of yore). So let them not rush Me.

Those who do wrong will indeed come to the same end as their fellows (of old). So let them not ask Me to hasten (the punishment).

And indeed for these unjust is also a turn of punishment, like that of their companions – so they must not ask Me to hasten.

Indeed the lot of those who do wrong [now] will be like the lot of their [earlier] counterparts. So let them not ask Me to hasten on [that fate].

So surely those who commit the greatest wrong (namely, not believing in and worshipping God or associating partners with Him in worship), will have their share (of the punishment) like the share of their fellows (of old who were destroyed). Then, let them not ask Me to hasten it.

Amatul Rahman Omar

Those who do injustice (to Our Messengers) should meet the fate (of miseries) like the fate of their fellows (of old). Therefore do not let them ask Me to hasten on (the punishment which awaits them).

English Literal

So that to those who were unjust/oppressive (are) crimes, equal/alike (to) their company`s/friends` crimes, so do not hurry/hasten Me .386

And indeed for these unjust is also a turn of punishment, like that of their companions - so they must not ask Me to hasten.

The wrongdoers will meet the same fate as their predecessors, let them not ask Me to hasten on [the punishment],

Those who do wrong will have their turn, like the turn of their counterparts, so let them not rush Me.

Tafsir jalalayn

And for those who have wronged, their souls through disbelief, from among the people of Mecca and others, there will assuredly be a lot, a share of chastisement, like the lot, the share, of their counterparts, who perished before them. So let them not ask Me to hasten on, the chastisement, should I give them respite until the Day of Resurrection.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ذَنُوبًا

And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a portion,

indicates that they will receive their due share of the torment,

مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَابِهِمْ فَلَ يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ



like the evil portion (which came for) their likes (of old); so let them not ask Me to hasten on!

let them not ask that the punishment is rushed to them, for it will surely come,

فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِن يَوْمِهِمُ الَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ
