Al-Qur'an Surah Adh-Dhariyat Verse 44
Adh-Dhariyat [51]: 44 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
فَعَتَوْا عَنْ اَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَاَخَذَتْهُمُ الصّٰعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنْظُرُوْنَ (الذاريات : ٥١)
- faʿataw
- فَعَتَوْا۟
- But they rebelled
- ʿan
- عَنْ
- against
- amri
- أَمْرِ
- (the) Command
- rabbihim
- رَبِّهِمْ
- (of) their Lord
- fa-akhadhathumu
- فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ
- so seized them
- l-ṣāʿiqatu
- ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ
- the thunderbolt
- wahum
- وَهُمْ
- while they
- yanẓurūna
- يَنظُرُونَ
- were looking
Transliteration:
Fa'ataw 'an amri Rabbihim fa akhazal humus saa'iqatu wa hum yanzuroon(QS. aḏ-Ḏāriyāt:44)
English / Sahih Translation:
But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. (QS. Adh-Dhariyat, ayah 44)

And in Thamud, when they were told;"Enjoy yourselves for a while!" But they insolently defied the command of their Lord, so the Sa`iqah overtook them while they were looking.
Thamud were given a respite for three days, during which they await the torment. In the early morning of the fourth day, the torment overtook them
