Al-Qur'an Surah Adh-Dhariyat Verse 16
Adh-Dhariyat [51]: 16 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
اٰخِذِيْنَ مَآ اٰتٰىهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۗ اِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا قَبْلَ ذٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِيْنَۗ (الذاريات : ٥١)

Transliteration:
Aakhizeena maaa aataahum Rabbuhum; innahum kaanoo qabla zaalika muhsineen(QS. aḏ-Ḏāriyāt:16)
English / Sahih Translation:
Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. (QS. Adh-Dhariyat, ayah 16)

Tafsir jalalayn
receiving (khidhna is a circumstantial qualifier referring to the person of the predicate of inna, `truly') what their Lord has given them, of reward, for indeed formerly, [before] their entering Paradise, they had been virtuous, in the world.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
اخِذِينَ مَا اتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ
Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them.
His statement;
اخِذِينَ
(Taking) describes the state of the people of Taqwa in the midst of gardens and springs. They will receive what their Lord gives them, meaning, delight, happiness and favors.
Allah the Exalted and Most Honored said,
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ
Verily, they were before that, (in the life of the world),
مُحْسِنِينَ
good doers,
As He said;
كُلُواْ وَاشْرَبُواْ هَنِييَاً بِمَأ أَسْلَفْتُمْ فِى الاٌّيَّامِ الْخَالِيَةِ
Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! (69;24)
Allah the Exalted described the good acts that they performed,
كَانُوا قَلِيلًا مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ
