Al-Qur'an Surah Adh-Dhariyat Verse 14

Adh-Dhariyat [51]: 14 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

ذُوْقُوْا فِتْنَتَكُمْۗ هٰذَا الَّذِيْ كُنْتُمْ بِهٖ تَسْتَعْجِلُوْنَ (الذاريات : ٥١)

"Taste

فِتْنَتَكُمْ
your trial
hādhā
هَٰذَا
This
alladhī
ٱلَّذِى
(is) what
kuntum
كُنتُم
you were
bihi
بِهِۦ
for it
tastaʿjilūna
تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
seeking to hasten"

Transliteration:

Zooqoo fitnatakum haa zal lazee kuntum bihee tas ta'jiloon (QS. aḏ-Ḏāriyāt:14)

English / Sahih Translation:

[And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." (QS. Adh-Dhariyat, ayah 14)

(and it will be said to them,) “Taste (the punishment of) your mischief. This is what you have been asking to be brought sooner.”

Taste/experience your misguidance/seduction this, which you were with it hurrying/hastening .

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

ذُوقُوا فِتْنَتَكُمْ

Taste you your trial!

Mujahid said, "Your burning"

while others said, "Your punishment."

هَذَا الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ



This is what you used to ask to be hastened!

This will be said admonishing, chastising, humiliating and belittling them. Allah knows best
