قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ اَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُوْنَۚ ٣١
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- famā
- فَمَا
- "Then what
- khaṭbukum
- خَطْبُكُمْ
- (is) your mission
- ayyuhā
- أَيُّهَا
- O messengers?"
- l-mur'salūna
- ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
- O messengers?"
[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" (QS. [51] Adh-Dhariyat: 31)Tafsir
32
قَالُوْٓ اِنَّآ اُرْسِلْنَآ اِلٰى قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِيْنَۙ ٣٢
- qālū
- قَالُوٓا۟
- They said
- innā
- إِنَّآ
- "Indeed we
- ur'sil'nā
- أُرْسِلْنَآ
- [we] have been sent
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- qawmin
- قَوْمٍ
- a people
- muj'rimīna
- مُّجْرِمِينَ
- criminal
They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals (QS. [51] Adh-Dhariyat: 32)Tafsir
33
لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّنْ طِيْنٍۙ ٣٣
- linur'sila
- لِنُرْسِلَ
- That we may send down
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- upon them
- ḥijāratan
- حِجَارَةً
- stones
- min
- مِّن
- of
- ṭīnin
- طِينٍ
- clay
To send down upon them stones of clay, (QS. [51] Adh-Dhariyat: 33)Tafsir
34
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِيْنَ ٣٤
- musawwamatan
- مُّسَوَّمَةً
- Marked
- ʿinda
- عِندَ
- by your Lord
- rabbika
- رَبِّكَ
- by your Lord
- lil'mus'rifīna
- لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ
- for the transgressors"
Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." (QS. [51] Adh-Dhariyat: 34)Tafsir
35
فَاَخْرَجْنَا مَنْ كَانَ فِيْهَا مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَۚ ٣٥
- fa-akhrajnā
- فَأَخْرَجْنَا
- Then We brought out
- man
- مَن
- (those) who
- kāna
- كَانَ
- were
- fīhā
- فِيهَا
- therein
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-mu'minīna
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- the believers
So We brought out whoever was in them [i.e., the cities] of the believers. (QS. [51] Adh-Dhariyat: 35)Tafsir
36
فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيْهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍ مِّنَ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَۚ ٣٦
- famā
- فَمَا
- But not
- wajadnā
- وَجَدْنَا
- We found
- fīhā
- فِيهَا
- therein
- ghayra
- غَيْرَ
- other than
- baytin
- بَيْتٍ
- a house
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- l-mus'limīna
- ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
- the Muslims
And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. (QS. [51] Adh-Dhariyat: 36)Tafsir
37
وَتَرَكْنَا فِيْهَآ اٰيَةً لِّلَّذِيْنَ يَخَافُوْنَ الْعَذَابَ الْاَلِيْمَۗ ٣٧
- wataraknā
- وَتَرَكْنَا
- And We left
- fīhā
- فِيهَآ
- therein
- āyatan
- ءَايَةً
- a Sign
- lilladhīna
- لِّلَّذِينَ
- for those who
- yakhāfūna
- يَخَافُونَ
- fear
- l-ʿadhāba
- ٱلْعَذَابَ
- the punishment
- l-alīma
- ٱلْأَلِيمَ
- the painful
And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. (QS. [51] Adh-Dhariyat: 37)Tafsir
38
وَفِيْ مُوْسٰىٓ اِذْ اَرْسَلْنٰهُ اِلٰى فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطٰنٍ مُّبِيْنٍ ٣٨
- wafī
- وَفِى
- And in
- mūsā
- مُوسَىٰٓ
- Musa
- idh
- إِذْ
- when
- arsalnāhu
- أَرْسَلْنَٰهُ
- We sent him
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- fir'ʿawna
- فِرْعَوْنَ
- Firaun
- bisul'ṭānin
- بِسُلْطَٰنٍ
- with an authority
- mubīnin
- مُّبِينٍ
- clear
And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. (QS. [51] Adh-Dhariyat: 38)Tafsir
39
فَتَوَلّٰى بِرُكْنِهٖ وَقَالَ سٰحِرٌ اَوْ مَجْنُوْنٌ ٣٩
- fatawallā
- فَتَوَلَّىٰ
- But he turned away
- biruk'nihi
- بِرُكْنِهِۦ
- with his supporters
- waqāla
- وَقَالَ
- and said
- sāḥirun
- سَٰحِرٌ
- "A magician
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- majnūnun
- مَجْنُونٌ
- a madman"
But he turned away with his supporters and said, "A magician or a madman." (QS. [51] Adh-Dhariyat: 39)Tafsir
40
فَاَخَذْنٰهُ وَجُنُوْدَهٗ فَنَبَذْنٰهُمْ فِى الْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيْمٌۗ ٤٠
- fa-akhadhnāhu
- فَأَخَذْنَٰهُ
- So We took him
- wajunūdahu
- وَجُنُودَهُۥ
- and his hosts
- fanabadhnāhum
- فَنَبَذْنَٰهُمْ
- and threw them
- fī
- فِى
- into
- l-yami
- ٱلْيَمِّ
- the sea
- wahuwa
- وَهُوَ
- while he
- mulīmun
- مُلِيمٌ
- (was) blameworthy
So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. (QS. [51] Adh-Dhariyat: 40)Tafsir
