Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Ma'idah Verse 102

Al-Ma'idah [5]: 102 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

قَدْ سَاَلَهَا قَوْمٌ مِّنْ قَبْلِكُمْ ثُمَّ اَصْبَحُوْا بِهَا كٰفِرِيْنَ (المائدة : ٥)

Transliteration:

Qad sa alahaa qawmum min qablikum summa asbahoo bihaa kaafireen (QS. al-Māʾidah:102)

English / Sahih Translation:

A people asked such [questions] before you; then they became thereby disbelievers. (QS. Al-Ma'idah, ayah 102)

meaning, some people before your time asked such questions and they were given answers. They did not believe the answers, so they became disbelievers because of that. This occurred because these rulings were made plain to them, yet they did not benefit at all from that, for they asked about these things not to gain guidance, but only to mock and defy
