وَحَسِبُوْٓا اَلَّا تَكُوْنَ فِتْنَةٌ فَعَمُوْا وَصَمُّوْا ثُمَّ تَابَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ عَمُوْا وَصَمُّوْا كَثِيْرٌ مِّنْهُمْۗ وَاللّٰهُ بَصِيْرٌۢ بِمَا يَعْمَلُوْنَ ٧١
- waḥasibū
- وَحَسِبُوٓا۟
- And they thought
- allā
- أَلَّا
- that not
- takūna
- تَكُونَ
- will be (for them)
- fit'natun
- فِتْنَةٌ
- a trial
- faʿamū
- فَعَمُوا۟
- so they became blind
- waṣammū
- وَصَمُّوا۟
- and they became deaf
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- Then
- tāba
- تَابَ
- turned
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- to them
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then (again)
- ʿamū
- عَمُوا۟
- they became blind
- waṣammū
- وَصَمُّوا۟
- and they became deaf
- kathīrun
- كَثِيرٌ
- many
- min'hum
- مِّنْهُمْۚ
- of them
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- baṣīrun
- بَصِيرٌۢ
- (is) All-Seer
- bimā
- بِمَا
- of what
- yaʿmalūna
- يَعْمَلُونَ
- they do
And they thought there would be no [resulting] punishment, so they became blind and deaf. Then Allah turned to them in forgiveness; then [again] many of them became blind and deaf. And Allah is Seeing of what they do. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 71)Tafsir
لَقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِيْنَ قَالُوْٓا اِنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ الْمَسِيْحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ۗوَقَالَ الْمَسِيْحُ يٰبَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ رَبِّيْ وَرَبَّكُمْ ۗاِنَّهٗ مَنْ يُّشْرِكْ بِاللّٰهِ فَقَدْ حَرَّمَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ وَمَأْوٰىهُ النَّارُ ۗوَمَا لِلظّٰلِمِيْنَ مِنْ اَنْصَارٍ ٧٢
- laqad
- لَقَدْ
- Certainly
- kafara
- كَفَرَ
- disbelieved
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- qālū
- قَالُوٓا۟
- say
- inna
- إِنَّ
- "Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- huwa
- هُوَ
- He
- l-masīḥu
- ٱلْمَسِيحُ
- (is) the Messiah
- ub'nu
- ٱبْنُ
- son
- maryama
- مَرْيَمَۖ
- (of) Maryam"
- waqāla
- وَقَالَ
- While said
- l-masīḥu
- ٱلْمَسِيحُ
- the Messiah
- yābanī
- يَٰبَنِىٓ
- "O Children
- is'rāīla
- إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
- (of) Israel!
- uʿ'budū
- ٱعْبُدُوا۟
- Worship
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- rabbī
- رَبِّى
- my Lord
- warabbakum
- وَرَبَّكُمْۖ
- and your Lord"
- innahu
- إِنَّهُۥ
- Indeed, he
- man
- مَن
- who
- yush'rik
- يُشْرِكْ
- associates partners
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- with Allah
- faqad
- فَقَدْ
- then surely
- ḥarrama
- حَرَّمَ
- (has) forbidden
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- ʿalayhi
- عَلَيْهِ
- for him
- l-janata
- ٱلْجَنَّةَ
- Paradise
- wamawāhu
- وَمَأْوَىٰهُ
- and his abode
- l-nāru
- ٱلنَّارُۖ
- (will be) the Fire
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- lilẓẓālimīna
- لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ
- for the wrongdoers
- min
- مِنْ
- of
- anṣārin
- أَنصَارٍ
- (any) helpers
They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allah – Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 72)Tafsir
لَقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِيْنَ قَالُوْٓا اِنَّ اللّٰهَ ثَالِثُ ثَلٰثَةٍ ۘ وَمَا مِنْ اِلٰهٍ اِلَّآ اِلٰهٌ وَّاحِدٌ ۗوَاِنْ لَّمْ يَنْتَهُوْا عَمَّا يَقُوْلُوْنَ لَيَمَسَّنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ ٧٣

- Certainly
- kafara
- كَفَرَ
- disbelieved
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- qālū
- قَالُوٓا۟
- say
- inna
- إِنَّ
- "Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- thālithu
- ثَالِثُ
- (is the) third
- thalāthatin
- ثَلَٰثَةٍۘ
- (of) three"
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And (there is) no
- min
- مِنْ
- [of]
- ilāhin
- إِلَٰهٍ
- god
- illā
- إِلَّآ
- except
- ilāhun
- إِلَٰهٌ
- (the) God
- wāḥidun
- وَٰحِدٌۚ
- (the) One
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- And if
- lam
- لَّمْ
- not
- yantahū
- يَنتَهُوا۟
- they desist
- ʿammā
- عَمَّا
- from what
- yaqūlūna
- يَقُولُونَ
- they are saying
- layamassanna
- لَيَمَسَّنَّ
- surely will afflict
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved
- min'hum
- مِنْهُمْ
- among them
- ʿadhābun
- عَذَابٌ
- a punishment
- alīmun
- أَلِيمٌ
- painful
They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the third of three." And there is no god except one God. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 73)Tafsir
اَفَلَا يَتُوْبُوْنَ اِلَى اللّٰهِ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُوْنَهٗۗ وَاللّٰهُ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ٧٤
- afalā
- أَفَلَا
- So will not
- yatūbūna
- يَتُوبُونَ
- they repent
- ilā
- إِلَى
- to
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- wayastaghfirūnahu
- وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَهُۥۚ
- and seek His forgiveness?
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- ghafūrun
- غَفُورٌ
- (is) Oft-Forgiving
- raḥīmun
- رَّحِيمٌ
- Most Merciful
So will they not repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 74)Tafsir
مَا الْمَسِيْحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ اِلَّا رَسُوْلٌۚ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ الرُّسُلُۗ وَاُمُّهٗ صِدِّيْقَةٌ ۗ كَانَا يَأْكُلَانِ الطَّعَامَ ۗ اُنْظُرْ كَيْفَ نُبَيِّنُ لَهُمُ الْاٰيٰتِ ثُمَّ انْظُرْ اَنّٰى يُؤْفَكُوْنَ ٧٥
- mā
- مَّا
- Not
- l-masīḥu
- ٱلْمَسِيحُ
- (is) the Messiah
- ub'nu
- ٱبْنُ
- son
- maryama
- مَرْيَمَ
- (of) Maryam
- illā
- إِلَّا
- but
- rasūlun
- رَسُولٌ
- a Messenger
- qad
- قَدْ
- certainly
- khalat
- خَلَتْ
- had passed
- min
- مِن
- from
- qablihi
- قَبْلِهِ
- before him
- l-rusulu
- ٱلرُّسُلُ
- the Messengers
- wa-ummuhu
- وَأُمُّهُۥ
- And his mother
- ṣiddīqatun
- صِدِّيقَةٌۖ
- (was) truthful
- kānā
- كَانَا
- They both used to
- yakulāni
- يَأْكُلَانِ
- eat
- l-ṭaʿāma
- ٱلطَّعَامَۗ
- [the] food
- unẓur
- ٱنظُرْ
- See
- kayfa
- كَيْفَ
- how
- nubayyinu
- نُبَيِّنُ
- We make clear
- lahumu
- لَهُمُ
- to them
- l-āyāti
- ٱلْءَايَٰتِ
- the Signs
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- unẓur
- ٱنظُرْ
- see
- annā
- أَنَّىٰ
- how
- yu'fakūna
- يُؤْفَكُونَ
- they are deluded
The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look how they are deluded. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 75)Tafsir
قُلْ اَتَعْبُدُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ مَا لَا يَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّا وَّلَا نَفْعًا ۗوَاللّٰهُ هُوَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ ٧٦

- Say
- ataʿbudūna
- أَتَعْبُدُونَ
- "Do you worship
- min
- مِن
- from
- dūni
- دُونِ
- besides
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- mā
- مَا
- what
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yamliku
- يَمْلِكُ
- has power
- lakum
- لَكُمْ
- to (cause) you
- ḍarran
- ضَرًّا
- any harm
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- nafʿan
- نَفْعًاۚ
- any benefit
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- while Allah
- huwa
- هُوَ
- He
- l-samīʿu
- ٱلسَّمِيعُ
- (is) the All-Hearing
- l-ʿalīmu
- ٱلْعَلِيمُ
- the All-Knowing?
Say, "Do you worship besides Allah that which holds for you no [power of] harm or benefit while it is Allah who is the Hearing, the Knowing?" (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 76)Tafsir
قُلْ يٰٓاَهْلَ الْكِتٰبِ لَا تَغْلُوْا فِيْ دِيْنِكُمْ غَيْرَ الْحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوْٓا اَهْوَاۤءَ قَوْمٍ قَدْ ضَلُّوْا مِنْ قَبْلُ وَاَضَلُّوْا كَثِيْرًا وَّضَلُّوْا عَنْ سَوَاۤءِ السَّبِيْلِ ࣖ ٧٧

- Say
- yāahla
- يَٰٓأَهْلَ
- "O People
- l-kitābi
- ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
- (of) the Book!
- lā
- لَا
- (Do) not
- taghlū
- تَغْلُوا۟
- exceed
- fī
- فِى
- in
- dīnikum
- دِينِكُمْ
- your religion
- ghayra
- غَيْرَ
- other than
- l-ḥaqi
- ٱلْحَقِّ
- the truth
- walā
- وَلَا
- and (do) not
- tattabiʿū
- تَتَّبِعُوٓا۟
- follow
- ahwāa
- أَهْوَآءَ
- (vain) desires
- qawmin
- قَوْمٍ
- (of) a people
- qad
- قَدْ
- certainly
- ḍallū
- ضَلُّوا۟
- who went astray
- min
- مِن
- from
- qablu
- قَبْلُ
- before
- wa-aḍallū
- وَأَضَلُّوا۟
- and they misled
- kathīran
- كَثِيرًا
- many
- waḍallū
- وَضَلُّوا۟
- and they have strayed
- ʿan
- عَن
- from
- sawāi
- سَوَآءِ
- (the) right
- l-sabīli
- ٱلسَّبِيلِ
- [the] way
Say, "O People of the Scripture, do not exceed limits in your religion beyond the truth and do not follow the inclinations of a people who had gone astray before and misled many and have strayed from the soundness of the way." (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 77)Tafsir
لُعِنَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْۢ بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ عَلٰى لِسَانِ دَاوٗدَ وَعِيْسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ ۗذٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوْا وَّكَانُوْا يَعْتَدُوْنَ ٧٨
- luʿina
- لُعِنَ
- Were cursed
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved
- min
- مِنۢ
- from
- banī
- بَنِىٓ
- (the) Children
- is'rāīla
- إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
- (of) Israel
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- by
- lisāni
- لِسَانِ
- (the) tongue
- dāwūda
- دَاوُۥدَ
- (of) Dawood
- waʿīsā
- وَعِيسَى
- and Isa
- ib'ni
- ٱبْنِ
- son
- maryama
- مَرْيَمَۚ
- (of) Maryam
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- that (was)
- bimā
- بِمَا
- because
- ʿaṣaw
- عَصَوا۟
- they disobeyed
- wakānū
- وَّكَانُوا۟
- and they were
- yaʿtadūna
- يَعْتَدُونَ
- transgressing
Cursed were those who disbelieved among the Children of Israel by the tongue of David and of Jesus, the son of Mary. That was because they disobeyed and [habitually] transgressed. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 78)Tafsir
كَانُوْا لَا يَتَنَاهَوْنَ عَنْ مُّنْكَرٍ فَعَلُوْهُۗ لَبِئْسَ مَا كَانُوْا يَفْعَلُوْنَ ٧٩
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- They had been
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yatanāhawna
- يَتَنَاهَوْنَ
- forbidding each other
- ʿan
- عَن
- from
- munkarin
- مُّنكَرٍ
- wrongdoing
- faʿalūhu
- فَعَلُوهُۚ
- they did [it]
- labi'sa
- لَبِئْسَ
- Surely, evil
- mā
- مَا
- (was) what
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they were
- yafʿalūna
- يَفْعَلُونَ
- doing
They used not to prevent one another from wrongdoing that they did. How wretched was that which they were doing. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 79)Tafsir
تَرٰى كَثِيْرًا مِّنْهُمْ يَتَوَلَّوْنَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا ۗ لَبِئْسَ مَا قَدَّمَتْ لَهُمْ اَنْفُسُهُمْ اَنْ سَخِطَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَفِى الْعَذَابِ هُمْ خٰلِدُوْنَ ٨٠
- tarā
- تَرَىٰ
- You see
- kathīran
- كَثِيرًا
- many
- min'hum
- مِّنْهُمْ
- of them
- yatawallawna
- يَتَوَلَّوْنَ
- taking as allies
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟ۚ
- disbelieved
- labi'sa
- لَبِئْسَ
- Surely evil
- mā
- مَا
- (is) what
- qaddamat
- قَدَّمَتْ
- sent forth
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- for them
- anfusuhum
- أَنفُسُهُمْ
- their souls
- an
- أَن
- that
- sakhiṭa
- سَخِطَ
- became angry
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- with them
- wafī
- وَفِى
- and in
- l-ʿadhābi
- ٱلْعَذَابِ
- the punishment
- hum
- هُمْ
- they
- khālidūna
- خَٰلِدُونَ
- (will) abide forever
You see many of them becoming allies of those who disbelieved [i.e., the polytheists]. How wretched is that which they have put forth for themselves in that Allah has become angry with them, and in the punishment they will abide eternally. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 80)Tafsir
