۞ يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الْيَهُوْدَ وَالنَّصٰرٰٓى اَوْلِيَاۤءَ ۘ بَعْضُهُمْ اَوْلِيَاۤءُ بَعْضٍۗ وَمَنْ يَّتَوَلَّهُمْ مِّنْكُمْ فَاِنَّهٗ مِنْهُمْ ۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ٥١
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe!
- lā
- لَا
- (Do) not
- tattakhidhū
- تَتَّخِذُوا۟
- take
- l-yahūda
- ٱلْيَهُودَ
- the Jews
- wal-naṣārā
- وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰٓ
- and the Christians
- awliyāa
- أَوْلِيَآءَۘ
- (as) allies
- baʿḍuhum
- بَعْضُهُمْ
- Some of them
- awliyāu
- أَوْلِيَآءُ
- (are) allies
- baʿḍin
- بَعْضٍۚ
- (to) others
- waman
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- yatawallahum
- يَتَوَلَّهُم
- takes them as allies
- minkum
- مِّنكُمْ
- among you
- fa-innahu
- فَإِنَّهُۥ
- then indeed, he
- min'hum
- مِنْهُمْۗ
- (is) of them
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- lā
- لَا
- (does) not
- yahdī
- يَهْدِى
- guide
- l-qawma
- ٱلْقَوْمَ
- the people
- l-ẓālimīna
- ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
- the wrongdoing
O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you – then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 51)Tafsir
فَتَرَى الَّذِيْنَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ مَّرَضٌ يُّسَارِعُوْنَ فِيْهِمْ يَقُوْلُوْنَ نَخْشٰٓى اَنْ تُصِيْبَنَا دَاۤىِٕرَةٌ ۗفَعَسَى اللّٰهُ اَنْ يَّأْتِيَ بِالْفَتْحِ اَوْ اَمْرٍ مِّنْ عِنْدِهٖ فَيُصْبِحُوْا عَلٰى مَآ اَسَرُّوْا فِيْٓ اَنْفُسِهِمْ نٰدِمِيْنَۗ ٥٢
- fatarā
- فَتَرَى
- And you see
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those
- fī
- فِى
- in
- qulūbihim
- قُلُوبِهِم
- their hearts
- maraḍun
- مَّرَضٌ
- (is) a disease
- yusāriʿūna
- يُسَٰرِعُونَ
- they hasten
- fīhim
- فِيهِمْ
- to them
- yaqūlūna
- يَقُولُونَ
- saying
- nakhshā
- نَخْشَىٰٓ
- "We fear
- an
- أَن
- that
- tuṣībanā
- تُصِيبَنَا
- (may) strike us
- dāiratun
- دَآئِرَةٌۚ
- a misfortune"
- faʿasā
- فَعَسَى
- But perhaps
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- an
- أَن
- [that]
- yatiya
- يَأْتِىَ
- will bring
- bil-fatḥi
- بِٱلْفَتْحِ
- the victory
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- amrin
- أَمْرٍ
- a decision
- min
- مِّنْ
- from
- ʿindihi
- عِندِهِۦ
- (of) Him
- fayuṣ'biḥū
- فَيُصْبِحُوا۟
- Then they will become
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- for
- mā
- مَآ
- what
- asarrū
- أَسَرُّوا۟
- they had concealed
- fī
- فِىٓ
- within
- anfusihim
- أَنفُسِهِمْ
- themselves
- nādimīna
- نَٰدِمِينَ
- regretful
So you see those in whose hearts is disease [i.e., hypocrisy] hastening into [association with] them, saying, "We are afraid a misfortune may strike us." But perhaps Allah will bring conquest or a decision from Him, and they will become, over what they have been concealing within themselves, regretful. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 52)Tafsir
وَيَقُوْلُ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْٓا اَهٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ الَّذِيْنَ اَقْسَمُوْا بِاللّٰهِ جَهْدَ اَيْمَانِهِمْۙ اِنَّهُمْ لَمَعَكُمْۗ حَبِطَتْ اَعْمَالُهُمْ فَاَصْبَحُوْا خٰسِرِيْنَ ٥٣
- wayaqūlu
- وَيَقُولُ
- And will say
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوٓا۟
- believe
- ahāulāi
- أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
- "Are these
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- aqsamū
- أَقْسَمُوا۟
- swore
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- by Allah
- jahda
- جَهْدَ
- strongest
- aymānihim
- أَيْمَٰنِهِمْۙ
- (of) their oaths
- innahum
- إِنَّهُمْ
- indeed they
- lamaʿakum
- لَمَعَكُمْۚ
- (were) with you?"
- ḥabiṭat
- حَبِطَتْ
- Became worthless
- aʿmāluhum
- أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ
- their deeds
- fa-aṣbaḥū
- فَأَصْبَحُوا۟
- and they became
- khāsirīna
- خَٰسِرِينَ
- (the) losers
And those who believe will say, "Are these the ones who swore by Allah their strongest oaths that indeed they were with you?" Their deeds have become worthless, and they have become losers. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 53)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مَنْ يَّرْتَدَّ مِنْكُمْ عَنْ دِيْنِهٖ فَسَوْفَ يَأْتِى اللّٰهُ بِقَوْمٍ يُّحِبُّهُمْ وَيُحِبُّوْنَهٗٓ ۙاَذِلَّةٍ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ اَعِزَّةٍ عَلَى الْكٰفِرِيْنَۖ يُجَاهِدُوْنَ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ وَلَا يَخَافُوْنَ لَوْمَةَ لَاۤىِٕمٍ ۗذٰلِكَ فَضْلُ اللّٰهِ يُؤْتِيْهِ مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُۗ وَاللّٰهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيْمٌ ٥٤
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe!
- man
- مَن
- Whoever
- yartadda
- يَرْتَدَّ
- turns back
- minkum
- مِنكُمْ
- among you
- ʿan
- عَن
- from
- dīnihi
- دِينِهِۦ
- his religion
- fasawfa
- فَسَوْفَ
- then soon
- yatī
- يَأْتِى
- (will be) brought
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- (by) Allah
- biqawmin
- بِقَوْمٍ
- a people
- yuḥibbuhum
- يُحِبُّهُمْ
- whom He loves
- wayuḥibbūnahu
- وَيُحِبُّونَهُۥٓ
- and they love Him
- adhillatin
- أَذِلَّةٍ
- humble
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- towards
- l-mu'minīna
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- the believers
- aʿizzatin
- أَعِزَّةٍ
- (and) stern
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- towards
- l-kāfirīna
- ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
- the disbelievers
- yujāhidūna
- يُجَٰهِدُونَ
- striving
- fī
- فِى
- in
- sabīli
- سَبِيلِ
- (the) way
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- yakhāfūna
- يَخَافُونَ
- fearing
- lawmata
- لَوْمَةَ
- the blame
- lāimin
- لَآئِمٍۚ
- (of) a critic
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- That
- faḍlu
- فَضْلُ
- (is the) Grace
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- yu'tīhi
- يُؤْتِيهِ
- He grants
- man
- مَن
- whom
- yashāu
- يَشَآءُۚ
- He wills
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- wāsiʿun
- وَٰسِعٌ
- (is) All-Encompassing
- ʿalīmun
- عَلِيمٌ
- All-Knowing
O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion – Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him [who are] humble toward the believers, strong against the disbelievers; they strive in the cause of Allah and do not fear the blame of a critic. That is the favor of Allah; He bestows it upon whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 54)Tafsir
اِنَّمَا وَلِيُّكُمُ اللّٰهُ وَرَسُوْلُهٗ وَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا الَّذِيْنَ يُقِيْمُوْنَ الصَّلٰوةَ وَيُؤْتُوْنَ الزَّكٰوةَ وَهُمْ رَاكِعُوْنَ ٥٥
- innamā
- إِنَّمَا
- Only
- waliyyukumu
- وَلِيُّكُمُ
- your ally
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- (is) Allah
- warasūluhu
- وَرَسُولُهُۥ
- and His Messenger
- wa-alladhīna
- وَٱلَّذِينَ
- and those who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- and those who
- yuqīmūna
- يُقِيمُونَ
- establish
- l-ṣalata
- ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
- the prayer
- wayu'tūna
- وَيُؤْتُونَ
- and give
- l-zakata
- ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
- zakah
- wahum
- وَهُمْ
- and they
- rākiʿūna
- رَٰكِعُونَ
- (are) those who bow down
Your ally is none but Allah and [therefore] His Messenger and those who have believed – those who establish prayer and give Zakah, and they bow [in worship]. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 55)Tafsir
وَمَنْ يَّتَوَلَّ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ وَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا فَاِنَّ حِزْبَ اللّٰهِ هُمُ الْغٰلِبُوْنَ ࣖ ٥٦
- waman
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- yatawalla
- يَتَوَلَّ
- takes as an ally
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- warasūlahu
- وَرَسُولَهُۥ
- and His Messenger
- wa-alladhīna
- وَٱلَّذِينَ
- and those who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe
- fa-inna
- فَإِنَّ
- then indeed
- ḥiz'ba
- حِزْبَ
- (the) party
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- humu
- هُمُ
- they
- l-ghālibūna
- ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ
- (are) the victorious
And whoever is an ally of Allah and His Messenger and those who have believed – indeed, the party of Allah – they will be the predominant. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 56)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الَّذِيْنَ اتَّخَذُوْا دِيْنَكُمْ هُزُوًا وَّلَعِبًا مِّنَ الَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْكِتٰبَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ وَالْكُفَّارَ اَوْلِيَاۤءَۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ ٥٧
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe!
- lā
- لَا
- (Do) not
- tattakhidhū
- تَتَّخِذُوا۟
- take
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- ittakhadhū
- ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
- take
- dīnakum
- دِينَكُمْ
- your religion
- huzuwan
- هُزُوًا
- (in) ridicule
- walaʿiban
- وَلَعِبًا
- and fun
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- ūtū
- أُوتُوا۟
- are given
- l-kitāba
- ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
- the Book
- min
- مِن
- from
- qablikum
- قَبْلِكُمْ
- before you
- wal-kufāra
- وَٱلْكُفَّارَ
- and the disbelievers
- awliyāa
- أَوْلِيَآءَۚ
- (as) allies
- wa-ittaqū
- وَٱتَّقُوا۟
- And fear
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- in
- إِن
- if
- kuntum
- كُنتُم
- you are
- mu'minīna
- مُّؤْمِنِينَ
- believers
O you who have believed, take not those who have taken your religion in ridicule and amusement among the ones who were given the Scripture before you nor the disbelievers as allies. And fear Allah, if you should [truly] be believers. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 57)Tafsir
وَاِذَا نَادَيْتُمْ اِلَى الصَّلٰوةِ اتَّخَذُوْهَا هُزُوًا وَّلَعِبًا ۗذٰلِكَ بِاَ نَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَّا يَعْقِلُوْنَ ٥٨
- wa-idhā
- وَإِذَا
- And when
- nādaytum
- نَادَيْتُمْ
- you make a call
- ilā
- إِلَى
- for
- l-ṣalati
- ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
- the prayer
- ittakhadhūhā
- ٱتَّخَذُوهَا
- they take it
- huzuwan
- هُزُوًا
- (in) ridicule
- walaʿiban
- وَلَعِبًاۚ
- and fun
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- That
- bi-annahum
- بِأَنَّهُمْ
- (is) because they
- qawmun
- قَوْمٌ
- (are) a people
- lā
- لَّا
- (who do) not
- yaʿqilūna
- يَعْقِلُونَ
- understand
And when you call to prayer, they take it in ridicule and amusement. That is because they are a people who do not use reason. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 58)Tafsir
قُلْ يٰٓاَهْلَ الْكِتٰبِ هَلْ تَنْقِمُوْنَ مِنَّآ اِلَّآ اَنْ اٰمَنَّا بِاللّٰهِ وَمَآ اُنْزِلَ اِلَيْنَا وَمَآ اُنْزِلَ مِنْ قَبْلُۙ وَاَنَّ اَكْثَرَكُمْ فٰسِقُوْنَ ٥٩
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- yāahla
- يَٰٓأَهْلَ
- "O People
- l-kitābi
- ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
- (of) the Book!
- hal
- هَلْ
- Do
- tanqimūna
- تَنقِمُونَ
- you resent
- minnā
- مِنَّآ
- [of] us
- illā
- إِلَّآ
- except
- an
- أَنْ
- that
- āmannā
- ءَامَنَّا
- we believe
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- in Allah
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- and what
- unzila
- أُنزِلَ
- has been revealed
- ilaynā
- إِلَيْنَا
- to us
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- and what
- unzila
- أُنزِلَ
- was revealed
- min
- مِن
- from
- qablu
- قَبْلُ
- before
- wa-anna
- وَأَنَّ
- and that
- aktharakum
- أَكْثَرَكُمْ
- most of you
- fāsiqūna
- فَٰسِقُونَ
- (are) defiantly disobedient"
Say, "O People of the Scripture, do you resent us except [for the fact] that we have believed in Allah and what was revealed to us and what was revealed before and because most of you are defiantly disobedient?" (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 59)Tafsir
قُلْ هَلْ اُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِشَرٍّ مِّنْ ذٰلِكَ مَثُوْبَةً عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ ۗمَنْ لَّعَنَهُ اللّٰهُ وَغَضِبَ عَلَيْهِ وَجَعَلَ مِنْهُمُ الْقِرَدَةَ وَالْخَنَازِيْرَ وَعَبَدَ الطَّاغُوْتَۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَّاَضَلُّ عَنْ سَوَاۤءِ السَّبِيْلِ ٦٠
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- hal
- هَلْ
- "Shall
- unabbi-ukum
- أُنَبِّئُكُم
- I inform you
- bisharrin
- بِشَرٍّ
- (of) worse
- min
- مِّن
- than
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- that
- mathūbatan
- مَثُوبَةً
- (as) recompense
- ʿinda
- عِندَ
- from
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۚ
- Allah?
- man
- مَن
- Whom
- laʿanahu
- لَّعَنَهُ
- has (been) cursed
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- (by) Allah
- waghaḍiba
- وَغَضِبَ
- and He became angry
- ʿalayhi
- عَلَيْهِ
- with him
- wajaʿala
- وَجَعَلَ
- and made
- min'humu
- مِنْهُمُ
- of them
- l-qiradata
- ٱلْقِرَدَةَ
- [the] apes
- wal-khanāzīra
- وَٱلْخَنَازِيرَ
- and [the] swines
- waʿabada
- وَعَبَدَ
- and (who) worshipped
- l-ṭāghūta
- ٱلطَّٰغُوتَۚ
- the false deities
- ulāika
- أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- Those
- sharrun
- شَرٌّ
- (are) worse
- makānan
- مَّكَانًا
- (in) position
- wa-aḍallu
- وَأَضَلُّ
- and farthest astray
- ʿan
- عَن
- from
- sawāi
- سَوَآءِ
- (the) even
- l-sabīli
- ٱلسَّبِيلِ
- way"
Say, "Shall I inform you of [what is] worse than that as penalty from Allah? [It is that of] those whom Allah has cursed and with whom He became angry and made of them apes and pigs and slaves of Taghut. Those are worse in position and further astray from the sound way." (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 60)Tafsir
