يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا يَسْخَرْ قَوْمٌ مِّنْ قَوْمٍ عَسٰٓى اَنْ يَّكُوْنُوْا خَيْرًا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا نِسَاۤءٌ مِّنْ نِّسَاۤءٍ عَسٰٓى اَنْ يَّكُنَّ خَيْرًا مِّنْهُنَّۚ وَلَا تَلْمِزُوْٓا اَنْفُسَكُمْ وَلَا تَنَابَزُوْا بِالْاَلْقَابِۗ بِئْسَ الِاسْمُ الْفُسُوْقُ بَعْدَ الْاِيْمَانِۚ وَمَنْ لَّمْ يَتُبْ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الظّٰلِمُوْنَ ١١

- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you who believe!
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- O you who believe!
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- O you who believe!
- lā
- لَا
- (Let) not
- yaskhar
- يَسْخَرْ
- ridicule
- qawmun
- قَوْمٌ
- a people
- min
- مِّن
- [of]
- qawmin
- قَوْمٍ
- (another) people
- ʿasā
- عَسَىٰٓ
- perhaps
- an
- أَن
- that
- yakūnū
- يَكُونُوا۟
- they may be
- khayran
- خَيْرًا
- better
- min'hum
- مِّنْهُمْ
- than them
- walā
- وَلَا
- and (let) not
- nisāon
- نِسَآءٌ
- women
- min
- مِّن
- [of]
- nisāin
- نِّسَآءٍ
- (other) women
- ʿasā
- عَسَىٰٓ
- perhaps
- an
- أَن
- that
- yakunna
- يَكُنَّ
- they may be
- khayran
- خَيْرًا
- better
- min'hunna
- مِّنْهُنَّۖ
- than them
- walā
- وَلَا
- And (do) not
- talmizū
- تَلْمِزُوٓا۟
- insult
- anfusakum
- أَنفُسَكُمْ
- yourselves
- walā
- وَلَا
- and (do) not
- tanābazū
- تَنَابَزُوا۟
- call each other
- bil-alqābi
- بِٱلْأَلْقَٰبِۖ
- by nicknames
- bi'sa
- بِئْسَ
- Wretched is
- l-s'mu
- ٱلِٱسْمُ
- the name
- l-fusūqu
- ٱلْفُسُوقُ
- (of) disobedience
- baʿda
- بَعْدَ
- after
- l-īmāni
- ٱلْإِيمَٰنِۚ
- the faith
- waman
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- lam
- لَّمْ
- (does) not
- yatub
- يَتُبْ
- repent
- fa-ulāika
- فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- then those
- humu
- هُمُ
- they
- l-ẓālimūna
- ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
- (are) the wrongdoers
O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name [i.e., mention] of disobedience after [one's] faith. And whoever does not repent – then it is those who are the wrongdoers. (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 11)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا اجْتَنِبُوْا كَثِيْرًا مِّنَ الظَّنِّۖ اِنَّ بَعْضَ الظَّنِّ اِثْمٌ وَّلَا تَجَسَّسُوْا وَلَا يَغْتَبْ بَّعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًاۗ اَيُحِبُّ اَحَدُكُمْ اَنْ يَّأْكُلَ لَحْمَ اَخِيْهِ مَيْتًا فَكَرِهْتُمُوْهُۗ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ تَوَّابٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ١٢

- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you who believe!
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- O you who believe!
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- O you who believe!
- ij'tanibū
- ٱجْتَنِبُوا۟
- Avoid
- kathīran
- كَثِيرًا
- much
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- l-ẓani
- ٱلظَّنِّ
- the assumption
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- baʿḍa
- بَعْضَ
- some
- l-ẓani
- ٱلظَّنِّ
- assumption
- ith'mun
- إِثْمٌۖ
- (is) sin
- walā
- وَلَا
- And (do) not
- tajassasū
- تَجَسَّسُوا۟
- spy
- walā
- وَلَا
- and (do) not
- yaghtab
- يَغْتَب
- backbite
- baʿḍukum
- بَّعْضُكُم
- some of you
- baʿḍan
- بَعْضًاۚ
- (to) others
- ayuḥibbu
- أَيُحِبُّ
- Would like
- aḥadukum
- أَحَدُكُمْ
- one of you
- an
- أَن
- to
- yakula
- يَأْكُلَ
- eat
- laḥma
- لَحْمَ
- (the) flesh
- akhīhi
- أَخِيهِ
- (of) his brother
- maytan
- مَيْتًا
- dead?
- fakarih'tumūhu
- فَكَرِهْتُمُوهُۚ
- Nay, you would hate it
- wa-ittaqū
- وَٱتَّقُوا۟
- And fear Allah
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَۚ
- And fear Allah
- inna
- إِنَّ
- indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- tawwābun
- تَوَّابٌ
- (is) Oft-Returning
- raḥīmun
- رَّحِيمٌ
- Most Merciful
O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Accepting of Repentance and Merciful. (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 12)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اِنَّا خَلَقْنٰكُمْ مِّنْ ذَكَرٍ وَّاُنْثٰى وَجَعَلْنٰكُمْ شُعُوْبًا وَّقَبَاۤىِٕلَ لِتَعَارَفُوْا ۚ اِنَّ اَكْرَمَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ اَتْقٰىكُمْ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلِيْمٌ خَبِيْرٌ ١٣
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O mankind!
- l-nāsu
- ٱلنَّاسُ
- O mankind!
- innā
- إِنَّا
- Indeed, We
- khalaqnākum
- خَلَقْنَٰكُم
- created you
- min
- مِّن
- from
- dhakarin
- ذَكَرٍ
- a male
- wa-unthā
- وَأُنثَىٰ
- and a female
- wajaʿalnākum
- وَجَعَلْنَٰكُمْ
- and We made you
- shuʿūban
- شُعُوبًا
- nations
- waqabāila
- وَقَبَآئِلَ
- and tribes
- litaʿārafū
- لِتَعَارَفُوٓا۟ۚ
- that you may know one another
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- akramakum
- أَكْرَمَكُمْ
- (the) most noble of you
- ʿinda
- عِندَ
- near
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- atqākum
- أَتْقَىٰكُمْۚ
- (is the) most righteous of you
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- ʿalīmun
- عَلِيمٌ
- (is) All-Knower
- khabīrun
- خَبِيرٌ
- All-Aware
O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Aware. (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 13)Tafsir
۞ قَالَتِ الْاَعْرَابُ اٰمَنَّا ۗ قُلْ لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوْا وَلٰكِنْ قُوْلُوْٓا اَسْلَمْنَا وَلَمَّا يَدْخُلِ الْاِيْمَانُ فِيْ قُلُوْبِكُمْ ۗوَاِنْ تُطِيْعُوا اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ لَا يَلِتْكُمْ مِّنْ اَعْمَالِكُمْ شَيْـًٔا ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ١٤

- قَالَتِ
- Say
- l-aʿrābu
- ٱلْأَعْرَابُ
- the Bedouins
- āmannā
- ءَامَنَّاۖ
- "We believe"
- qul
- قُل
- Say
- lam
- لَّمْ
- "Not
- tu'minū
- تُؤْمِنُوا۟
- you believe;
- walākin
- وَلَٰكِن
- but
- qūlū
- قُولُوٓا۟
- say
- aslamnā
- أَسْلَمْنَا
- "We have submitted"
- walammā
- وَلَمَّا
- and has not yet
- yadkhuli
- يَدْخُلِ
- entered
- l-īmānu
- ٱلْإِيمَٰنُ
- the faith
- fī
- فِى
- in
- qulūbikum
- قُلُوبِكُمْۖ
- your hearts
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- But if
- tuṭīʿū
- تُطِيعُوا۟
- you obey
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- warasūlahu
- وَرَسُولَهُۥ
- and His Messenger
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yalit'kum
- يَلِتْكُم
- He will deprive you
- min
- مِّنْ
- of
- aʿmālikum
- أَعْمَٰلِكُمْ
- your deeds
- shayan
- شَيْـًٔاۚ
- anything
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- ghafūrun
- غَفُورٌ
- (is) Oft-Forgiving
- raḥīmun
- رَّحِيمٌ
- Most Merciful
The bedouins say, "We have believed." Say, "You have not [yet] believed; but say [instead], 'We have submitted,' for faith has not yet entered your hearts. And if you obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not deprive you from your deeds of anything. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 14)Tafsir
اِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْتَابُوْا وَجَاهَدُوْا بِاَمْوَالِهِمْ وَاَنْفُسِهِمْ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ ۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الصّٰدِقُوْنَ ١٥
- innamā
- إِنَّمَا
- Only
- l-mu'minūna
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
- the believers
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (are) those who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- in Allah
- warasūlihi
- وَرَسُولِهِۦ
- and His Messenger
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- lam
- لَمْ
- (do) not
- yartābū
- يَرْتَابُوا۟
- doubt
- wajāhadū
- وَجَٰهَدُوا۟
- but strive
- bi-amwālihim
- بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ
- with their wealth
- wa-anfusihim
- وَأَنفُسِهِمْ
- and their lives
- fī
- فِى
- in
- sabīli
- سَبِيلِ
- (the) way
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۚ
- (of) Allah
- ulāika
- أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- Those
- humu
- هُمُ
- [they]
- l-ṣādiqūna
- ٱلصَّٰدِقُونَ
- (are) the truthful"
The believers are only the ones who have believed in Allah and His Messenger and then doubt not but strive with their properties and their lives in the cause of Allah. It is those who are the truthful. (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 15)Tafsir
قُلْ اَتُعَلِّمُوْنَ اللّٰهَ بِدِيْنِكُمْۗ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْاَرْضِۗ وَاللّٰهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمٌ ١٦
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- atuʿallimūna
- أَتُعَلِّمُونَ
- "Will you acquaint
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- bidīnikum
- بِدِينِكُمْ
- with your religion
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- while Allah
- yaʿlamu
- يَعْلَمُ
- knows
- mā
- مَا
- what
- fī
- فِى
- (is) in
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- the heavens
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and what
- fī
- فِى
- (is) in
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِۚ
- the earth
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- bikulli
- بِكُلِّ
- of every
- shayin
- شَىْءٍ
- thing
- ʿalīmun
- عَلِيمٌ
- (is) All-Knower"
Say, "Would you acquaint Allah with your religion while Allah knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and Allah is Knowing of all things?" (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 16)Tafsir
يَمُنُّوْنَ عَلَيْكَ اَنْ اَسْلَمُوْا ۗ قُلْ لَّا تَمُنُّوْا عَلَيَّ اِسْلَامَكُمْ ۚبَلِ اللّٰهُ يَمُنُّ عَلَيْكُمْ اَنْ هَدٰىكُمْ لِلْاِيْمَانِ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ ١٧
- yamunnūna
- يَمُنُّونَ
- They consider (it) a favor
- ʿalayka
- عَلَيْكَ
- to you
- an
- أَنْ
- that
- aslamū
- أَسْلَمُوا۟ۖ
- they have accepted Islam
- qul
- قُل
- Say
- lā
- لَّا
- "(Do) not
- tamunnū
- تَمُنُّوا۟
- consider a favor
- ʿalayya
- عَلَىَّ
- to me -
- is'lāmakum
- إِسْلَٰمَكُمۖ
- your Islam
- bali
- بَلِ
- Nay
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- yamunnu
- يَمُنُّ
- has conferred a favor
- ʿalaykum
- عَلَيْكُمْ
- upon you
- an
- أَنْ
- that
- hadākum
- هَدَىٰكُمْ
- He has guided you
- lil'īmāni
- لِلْإِيمَٰنِ
- to the faith
- in
- إِن
- if
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you are
- ṣādiqīna
- صَٰدِقِينَ
- truthful
They consider it a favor to you that they have accepted IsLam. Say, "Do not consider your IsLam a favor to me. Rather, Allah has conferred favor upon you that He has guided you to the faith, if you should be truthful." (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 17)Tafsir
اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَعْلَمُ غَيْبَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۗ وَاللّٰهُ بَصِيْرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ ࣖ ١٨
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- yaʿlamu
- يَعْلَمُ
- knows
- ghayba
- غَيْبَ
- (the) unseen
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- (of) the heavens
- wal-arḍi
- وَٱلْأَرْضِۚ
- and the earth
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- baṣīrun
- بَصِيرٌۢ
- (is) All-Seer
- bimā
- بِمَا
- of what
- taʿmalūna
- تَعْمَلُونَ
- you do"
Indeed, Allah knows the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is Seeing of what you do. (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 18)Tafsir
