يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تُقَدِّمُوْا بَيْنَ يَدَيِ اللّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ سَمِيْعٌ عَلِيْمٌ ١
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you who believe!
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- O you who believe!
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- O you who believe!
- lā
- لَا
- (Do) not
- tuqaddimū
- تُقَدِّمُوا۟
- put (yourselves) forward
- bayna
- بَيْنَ
- before Allah
- yadayi
- يَدَىِ
- before Allah
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- before Allah
- warasūlihi
- وَرَسُولِهِۦۖ
- and His Messenger
- wa-ittaqū
- وَٱتَّقُوا۟
- and fear Allah
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَۚ
- and fear Allah
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- samīʿun
- سَمِيعٌ
- (is) All-Hearer
- ʿalīmun
- عَلِيمٌ
- All-Knower
O you who have believed, do not put [yourselves] before Allah and His Messenger but fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing. (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 1)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَرْفَعُوْٓا اَصْوَاتَكُمْ فَوْقَ صَوْتِ النَّبِيِّ وَلَا تَجْهَرُوْا لَهٗ بِالْقَوْلِ كَجَهْرِ بَعْضِكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ اَنْ تَحْبَطَ اَعْمَالُكُمْ وَاَنْتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُوْنَ ٢
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you who believe!
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- O you who believe!
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- O you who believe!
- lā
- لَا
- (Do) not
- tarfaʿū
- تَرْفَعُوٓا۟
- raise
- aṣwātakum
- أَصْوَٰتَكُمْ
- your voices
- fawqa
- فَوْقَ
- above
- ṣawti
- صَوْتِ
- (the) voice
- l-nabiyi
- ٱلنَّبِىِّ
- (of) the Prophet
- walā
- وَلَا
- and (do) not
- tajharū
- تَجْهَرُوا۟
- be loud
- lahu
- لَهُۥ
- to him
- bil-qawli
- بِٱلْقَوْلِ
- in speech
- kajahri
- كَجَهْرِ
- like (the) loudness
- baʿḍikum
- بَعْضِكُمْ
- (of) some of you
- libaʿḍin
- لِبَعْضٍ
- to others
- an
- أَن
- lest
- taḥbaṭa
- تَحْبَطَ
- become worthless
- aʿmālukum
- أَعْمَٰلُكُمْ
- your deeds
- wa-antum
- وَأَنتُمْ
- while you
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- tashʿurūna
- تَشْعُرُونَ
- perceive
O you who have believed, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet or be loud to him in speech like the loudness of some of you to others, lest your deeds become worthless while you perceive not. (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 2)Tafsir
اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يَغُضُّوْنَ اَصْوَاتَهُمْ عِنْدَ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ الَّذِيْنَ امْتَحَنَ اللّٰهُ قُلُوْبَهُمْ لِلتَّقْوٰىۗ لَهُمْ مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَّاَجْرٌ عَظِيْمٌ ٣
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- yaghuḍḍūna
- يَغُضُّونَ
- lower
- aṣwātahum
- أَصْوَٰتَهُمْ
- their voices
- ʿinda
- عِندَ
- (in) presence
- rasūli
- رَسُولِ
- (of the) Messenger of Allah
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of the) Messenger of Allah
- ulāika
- أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- those
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (are) the ones
- im'taḥana
- ٱمْتَحَنَ
- Allah has tested
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah has tested
- qulūbahum
- قُلُوبَهُمْ
- their hearts
- lilttaqwā
- لِلتَّقْوَىٰۚ
- for righteousness
- lahum
- لَهُم
- For them
- maghfiratun
- مَّغْفِرَةٌ
- (is) forgiveness
- wa-ajrun
- وَأَجْرٌ
- and a reward
- ʿaẓīmun
- عَظِيمٌ
- great
Indeed, those who lower their voices before the Messenger of Allah – they are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for righteousness. For them is forgiveness and great reward. (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 3)Tafsir
اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يُنَادُوْنَكَ مِنْ وَّرَاۤءِ الْحُجُرٰتِ اَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُوْنَ ٤
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- yunādūnaka
- يُنَادُونَكَ
- call you
- min
- مِن
- from
- warāi
- وَرَآءِ
- behind
- l-ḥujurāti
- ٱلْحُجُرَٰتِ
- the private chambers
- aktharuhum
- أَكْثَرُهُمْ
- most of them
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- yaʿqilūna
- يَعْقِلُونَ
- understand
Indeed, those who call you, [O Muhammad], from behind the chambers – most of them do not use reason. (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 4)Tafsir
وَلَوْ اَنَّهُمْ صَبَرُوْا حَتّٰى تَخْرُجَ اِلَيْهِمْ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ ۗوَاللّٰهُ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ٥
- walaw
- وَلَوْ
- And if
- annahum
- أَنَّهُمْ
- they
- ṣabarū
- صَبَرُوا۟
- had been patient
- ḥattā
- حَتَّىٰ
- until
- takhruja
- تَخْرُجَ
- you came out
- ilayhim
- إِلَيْهِمْ
- to them
- lakāna
- لَكَانَ
- certainly it would be
- khayran
- خَيْرًا
- better
- lahum
- لَّهُمْۚ
- for them
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- ghafūrun
- غَفُورٌ
- (is) Oft-Forgiving
- raḥīmun
- رَّحِيمٌ
- Most Merciful
And if they had been patient until you [could] come out to them, it would have been better for them. But Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 5)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْٓا اِنْ جَاۤءَكُمْ فَاسِقٌۢ بِنَبَاٍ فَتَبَيَّنُوْٓا اَنْ تُصِيْبُوْا قَوْمًاۢ بِجَهَالَةٍ فَتُصْبِحُوْا عَلٰى مَا فَعَلْتُمْ نٰدِمِيْنَ ٦
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you who believe!
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- O you who believe!
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوٓا۟
- O you who believe!
- in
- إِن
- If
- jāakum
- جَآءَكُمْ
- comes to you
- fāsiqun
- فَاسِقٌۢ
- a wicked person
- binaba-in
- بِنَبَإٍ
- with information
- fatabayyanū
- فَتَبَيَّنُوٓا۟
- investigate
- an
- أَن
- lest
- tuṣībū
- تُصِيبُوا۟
- you harm
- qawman
- قَوْمًۢا
- a people
- bijahālatin
- بِجَهَٰلَةٍ
- in ignorance
- fatuṣ'biḥū
- فَتُصْبِحُوا۟
- then you become
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- over
- mā
- مَا
- what
- faʿaltum
- فَعَلْتُمْ
- you have done
- nādimīna
- نَٰدِمِينَ
- regretful
O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful. (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 6)Tafsir
وَاعْلَمُوْٓا اَنَّ فِيْكُمْ رَسُوْلَ اللّٰهِ ۗ لَوْ يُطِيْعُكُمْ فِيْ كَثِيْرٍ مِّنَ الْاَمْرِ لَعَنِتُّمْ وَلٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ حَبَّبَ اِلَيْكُمُ الْاِيْمَانَ وَزَيَّنَهٗ فِيْ قُلُوْبِكُمْ وَكَرَّهَ اِلَيْكُمُ الْكُفْرَ وَالْفُسُوْقَ وَالْعِصْيَانَ ۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الرَّاشِدُوْنَۙ ٧
- wa-iʿ'lamū
- وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟
- And know
- anna
- أَنَّ
- that
- fīkum
- فِيكُمْ
- among you
- rasūla
- رَسُولَ
- (is the) Messenger of Allah
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۚ
- (is the) Messenger of Allah
- law
- لَوْ
- If
- yuṭīʿukum
- يُطِيعُكُمْ
- he were to obey you
- fī
- فِى
- in
- kathīrin
- كَثِيرٍ
- much
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- l-amri
- ٱلْأَمْرِ
- the matter
- laʿanittum
- لَعَنِتُّمْ
- surely you would be in difficulty
- walākinna
- وَلَٰكِنَّ
- but
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- ḥabbaba
- حَبَّبَ
- has endeared
- ilaykumu
- إِلَيْكُمُ
- to you
- l-īmāna
- ٱلْإِيمَٰنَ
- the Faith
- wazayyanahu
- وَزَيَّنَهُۥ
- and has made it pleasing
- fī
- فِى
- in
- qulūbikum
- قُلُوبِكُمْ
- your hearts
- wakarraha
- وَكَرَّهَ
- and has made hateful
- ilaykumu
- إِلَيْكُمُ
- to you
- l-kuf'ra
- ٱلْكُفْرَ
- disbelief
- wal-fusūqa
- وَٱلْفُسُوقَ
- and defiance
- wal-ʿiṣ'yāna
- وَٱلْعِصْيَانَۚ
- and disobedience
- ulāika
- أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- Those
- humu
- هُمُ
- (are) they
- l-rāshidūna
- ٱلرَّٰشِدُونَ
- the guided ones
And know that among you is the Messenger of Allah. If he were to obey you in much of the matter, you would be in difficulty, but Allah has endeared to you the faith and has made it pleasing in your hearts and has made hateful to you disbelief, defiance and disobedience. Those are the [rightly] guided. (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 7)Tafsir
فَضْلًا مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَنِعْمَةً ۗوَاللّٰهُ عَلِيْمٌ حَكِيْمٌ ٨
- faḍlan
- فَضْلًا
- A Bounty
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from Allah
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- from Allah
- waniʿ'matan
- وَنِعْمَةًۚ
- and favor
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- ʿalīmun
- عَلِيمٌ
- (is) All-Knower
- ḥakīmun
- حَكِيمٌ
- All-Wise
[It is] as bounty from Allah and favor. And Allah is Knowing and Wise. (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 8)Tafsir
وَاِنْ طَاۤىِٕفَتٰنِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ اقْتَتَلُوْا فَاَصْلِحُوْا بَيْنَهُمَاۚ فَاِنْۢ بَغَتْ اِحْدٰىهُمَا عَلَى الْاُخْرٰى فَقَاتِلُوا الَّتِيْ تَبْغِيْ حَتّٰى تَفِيْۤءَ اِلٰٓى اَمْرِ اللّٰهِ ۖفَاِنْ فَاۤءَتْ فَاَصْلِحُوْا بَيْنَهُمَا بِالْعَدْلِ وَاَقْسِطُوْا ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُقْسِطِيْنَ ٩
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- And if
- ṭāifatāni
- طَآئِفَتَانِ
- two parties
- mina
- مِنَ
- among
- l-mu'minīna
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- the believers
- iq'tatalū
- ٱقْتَتَلُوا۟
- fight
- fa-aṣliḥū
- فَأَصْلِحُوا۟
- then make peace
- baynahumā
- بَيْنَهُمَاۖ
- between both of them
- fa-in
- فَإِنۢ
- But if
- baghat
- بَغَتْ
- oppresses
- iḥ'dāhumā
- إِحْدَىٰهُمَا
- one of them
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- on
- l-ukh'rā
- ٱلْأُخْرَىٰ
- the other
- faqātilū
- فَقَٰتِلُوا۟
- then fight
- allatī
- ٱلَّتِى
- one which
- tabghī
- تَبْغِى
- oppresses
- ḥattā
- حَتَّىٰ
- until
- tafīa
- تَفِىٓءَ
- it returns
- ilā
- إِلَىٰٓ
- to
- amri
- أَمْرِ
- (the) command
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۚ
- (of) Allah
- fa-in
- فَإِن
- Then if
- fāat
- فَآءَتْ
- it returns
- fa-aṣliḥū
- فَأَصْلِحُوا۟
- then make peace
- baynahumā
- بَيْنَهُمَا
- between them
- bil-ʿadli
- بِٱلْعَدْلِ
- with justice
- wa-aqsiṭū
- وَأَقْسِطُوٓا۟ۖ
- and act justly
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- yuḥibbu
- يُحِبُّ
- loves
- l-muq'siṭīna
- ٱلْمُقْسِطِينَ
- those who act justly
And if two factions among the believers should fight, then make settlement between the two. But if one of them oppresses the other, then fight against the one that oppresses until it returns to the ordinance of Allah. And if it returns, then make settlement between them in justice and act justly. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly. (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 9)Tafsir
اِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ اِخْوَةٌ فَاَصْلِحُوْا بَيْنَ اَخَوَيْكُمْ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُوْنَ ࣖ ١٠
- innamā
- إِنَّمَا
- Only
- l-mu'minūna
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
- the believers
- ikh'watun
- إِخْوَةٌ
- (are) brothers
- fa-aṣliḥū
- فَأَصْلِحُوا۟
- so make peace
- bayna
- بَيْنَ
- between
- akhawaykum
- أَخَوَيْكُمْۚ
- your brothers
- wa-ittaqū
- وَٱتَّقُوا۟
- and fear Allah
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- and fear Allah
- laʿallakum
- لَعَلَّكُمْ
- so that you may
- tur'ḥamūna
- تُرْحَمُونَ
- receive mercy
The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy. (QS. [49] Al-Hujurat: 10)Tafsir
