11

ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّ اللّٰهَ مَوْلَى الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَاَنَّ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ لَا مَوْلٰى لَهُمْ ࣖ ١١

dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
That
bi-anna
بِأَنَّ
(is) because
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
mawlā
مَوْلَى
(is the) Protector
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
(of) those who
āmanū
ءَامَنُوا۟
believe
wa-anna
وَأَنَّ
and because
l-kāfirīna
ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
the disbelievers -
لَا
(there is) no
mawlā
مَوْلَىٰ
protector
lahum
لَهُمْ
for them
That is because Allah is the protector of those who have believed and because the disbelievers have no protector. (QS. [47] Muhammad: 11)
Tafsir
12

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُدْخِلُ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ ۗوَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا يَتَمَتَّعُوْنَ وَيَأْكُلُوْنَ كَمَا تَأْكُلُ الْاَنْعَامُ وَالنَّارُ مَثْوًى لَّهُمْ ١٢

inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
yud'khilu
يُدْخِلُ
will admit
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
āmanū
ءَامَنُوا۟
believe
waʿamilū
وَعَمِلُوا۟
and do
l-ṣāliḥāti
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
righteous deeds
jannātin
جَنَّٰتٍ
(to) gardens
tajrī
تَجْرِى
flow
min
مِن
from
taḥtihā
تَحْتِهَا
underneath it
l-anhāru
ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُۖ
the rivers
wa-alladhīna
وَٱلَّذِينَ
but those who
kafarū
كَفَرُوا۟
disbelieve
yatamattaʿūna
يَتَمَتَّعُونَ
they enjoy
wayakulūna
وَيَأْكُلُونَ
and eat
kamā
كَمَا
as
takulu
تَأْكُلُ
eat
l-anʿāmu
ٱلْأَنْعَٰمُ
the cattle
wal-nāru
وَٱلنَّارُ
and the Fire
mathwan
مَثْوًى
(will be) an abode
lahum
لَّهُمْ
for them
Indeed, Allah will admit those who have believed and done righteous deeds to gardens beneath which rivers flow, but those who disbelieve enjoy themselves and eat as grazing livestock eat, and the Fire will be a residence for them. (QS. [47] Muhammad: 12)
Tafsir
13

وَكَاَيِّنْ مِّنْ قَرْيَةٍ هِيَ اَشَدُّ قُوَّةً مِّنْ قَرْيَتِكَ الَّتِيْٓ اَخْرَجَتْكَۚ اَهْلَكْنٰهُمْ فَلَا نَاصِرَ لَهُمْ ١٣

waka-ayyin
وَكَأَيِّن
And how many
min
مِّن
of
qaryatin
قَرْيَةٍ
a town
hiya
هِىَ
which
ashaddu
أَشَدُّ
(was) stronger
quwwatan
قُوَّةً
(in) strength
min
مِّن
than
qaryatika
قَرْيَتِكَ
your town
allatī
ٱلَّتِىٓ
which
akhrajatka
أَخْرَجَتْكَ
has driven you out?
ahlaknāhum
أَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ
We destroyed them
falā
فَلَا
so no
nāṣira
نَاصِرَ
helper
lahum
لَهُمْ
for them
And how many a city was stronger than your city [i.e., Makkah] which drove you out? We destroyed them; and there was no helper for them. (QS. [47] Muhammad: 13)
Tafsir
14

اَفَمَنْ كَانَ عَلٰى بَيِّنَةٍ مِّنْ رَّبِّهٖ كَمَنْ زُيِّنَ لَهٗ سُوْۤءُ عَمَلِهٖ وَاتَّبَعُوْٓا اَهْوَاۤءَهُمْ ١٤

afaman
أَفَمَن
Then is (he) who
kāna
كَانَ
is
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
on
bayyinatin
بَيِّنَةٍ
a clear proof
min
مِّن
from
rabbihi
رَّبِّهِۦ
his Lord
kaman
كَمَن
like (he) who
zuyyina
زُيِّنَ
is made attractive
lahu
لَهُۥ
for him
sūu
سُوٓءُ
(the) evil
ʿamalihi
عَمَلِهِۦ
(of) his deeds
wa-ittabaʿū
وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟
while they follow
ahwāahum
أَهْوَآءَهُم
their desires
So is he who is on clear evidence from his Lord like him to whom the evil of his work has been made attractive and they follow their [own] desires? (QS. [47] Muhammad: 14)
Tafsir
15

مَثَلُ الْجَنَّةِ الَّتِيْ وُعِدَ الْمُتَّقُوْنَ ۗفِيْهَآ اَنْهٰرٌ مِّنْ مَّاۤءٍ غَيْرِ اٰسِنٍۚ وَاَنْهٰرٌ مِّنْ لَّبَنٍ لَّمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ طَعْمُهٗ ۚوَاَنْهٰرٌ مِّنْ خَمْرٍ لَّذَّةٍ لِّلشّٰرِبِيْنَ ەۚ وَاَنْهٰرٌ مِّنْ عَسَلٍ مُّصَفًّى ۗوَلَهُمْ فِيْهَا مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرٰتِ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّهِمْ ۗ كَمَنْ هُوَ خَالِدٌ فِى النَّارِ وَسُقُوْا مَاۤءً حَمِيْمًا فَقَطَّعَ اَمْعَاۤءَهُمْ ١٥

A parable
l-janati
ٱلْجَنَّةِ
(of) Paradise
allatī
ٱلَّتِى
which
wuʿida
وُعِدَ
is promised
l-mutaqūna
ٱلْمُتَّقُونَۖ
(to) the righteous
fīhā
فِيهَآ
Therein
anhārun
أَنْهَٰرٌ
(are) rivers
min
مِّن
of
māin
مَّآءٍ
water
ghayri
غَيْرِ
not
āsinin
ءَاسِنٍ
polluted
wa-anhārun
وَأَنْهَٰرٌ
and rivers
min
مِّن
of
labanin
لَّبَنٍ
milk
lam
لَّمْ
not
yataghayyar
يَتَغَيَّرْ
changes
ṭaʿmuhu
طَعْمُهُۥ
its taste
wa-anhārun
وَأَنْهَٰرٌ
and rivers
min
مِّنْ
of
khamrin
خَمْرٍ
wine
ladhatin
لَّذَّةٍ
delicious
lilshāribīna
لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ
to (the) drinkers
wa-anhārun
وَأَنْهَٰرٌ
and rivers
min
مِّنْ
of
ʿasalin
عَسَلٍ
honey
muṣaffan
مُّصَفًّىۖ
purified
walahum
وَلَهُمْ
and for them
fīhā
فِيهَا
therein
min
مِن
of
kulli
كُلِّ
all
l-thamarāti
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ
fruits
wamaghfiratun
وَمَغْفِرَةٌ
and forgiveness
min
مِّن
from
rabbihim
رَّبِّهِمْۖ
their Lord
kaman
كَمَنْ
like he who
huwa
هُوَ
like he who
khālidun
خَٰلِدٌ
(will) abide forever
فِى
in
l-nāri
ٱلنَّارِ
the Fire
wasuqū
وَسُقُوا۟
and they will be given to drink
māan
مَآءً
water
ḥamīman
حَمِيمًا
boiling
faqaṭṭaʿa
فَقَطَّعَ
so it cuts into pieces
amʿāahum
أَمْعَآءَهُمْ
their intestines
Is the description of Paradise, which the righteous are promised, wherein are rivers of water unaltered, rivers of milk the taste of which never changes, rivers of wine delicious to those who drink, and rivers of purified honey, in which they will have from all [kinds of] fruits and forgiveness from their Lord... [Are its inhabitants] like those who abide eternally in the Fire and are given to drink scalding water that will sever their intestines? (QS. [47] Muhammad: 15)
Tafsir
16

وَمِنْهُمْ مَّنْ يَّسْتَمِعُ اِلَيْكَۚ حَتّٰىٓ اِذَا خَرَجُوْا مِنْ عِنْدِكَ قَالُوْا لِلَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْعِلْمَ مَاذَا قَالَ اٰنِفًا ۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ الَّذِيْنَ طَبَعَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى قُلُوْبِهِمْ وَاتَّبَعُوْٓا اَهْوَاۤءَهُمْ ١٦

wamin'hum
وَمِنْهُم
And among them
man
مَّن
(are some) who
yastamiʿu
يَسْتَمِعُ
listen
ilayka
إِلَيْكَ
to you
ḥattā
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
idhā
إِذَا
when
kharajū
خَرَجُوا۟
they depart
min
مِنْ
from
ʿindika
عِندِكَ
you
qālū
قَالُوا۟
they say
lilladhīna
لِلَّذِينَ
to those who
ūtū
أُوتُوا۟
were given
l-ʿil'ma
ٱلْعِلْمَ
the knowledge
mādhā
مَاذَا
"What
qāla
قَالَ
(has) he said
ānifan
ءَانِفًاۚ
just now?"
ulāika
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
Those
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
(are) the ones
ṭabaʿa
طَبَعَ
Allah has set a seal
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah has set a seal
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
upon
qulūbihim
قُلُوبِهِمْ
their hearts
wa-ittabaʿū
وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟
and they follow
ahwāahum
أَهْوَآءَهُمْ
their desires
And among them, [O Muhammad], are those who listen to you, until when they depart from you, they say to those who were given knowledge, "What has he said just now?" Those are the ones of whom Allah has sealed over their hearts and who have followed their [own] desires. (QS. [47] Muhammad: 16)
Tafsir
17

وَالَّذِيْنَ اهْتَدَوْا زَادَهُمْ هُدًى وَّاٰتٰىهُمْ تَقْوٰىهُمْ ١٧

wa-alladhīna
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
ih'tadaw
ٱهْتَدَوْا۟
accept guidance
zādahum
زَادَهُمْ
He increases them
hudan
هُدًى
(in) guidance
waātāhum
وَءَاتَىٰهُمْ
and gives them
taqwāhum
تَقْوَىٰهُمْ
their righteousness
And those who are guided – He increases them in guidance and gives them their righteousness. (QS. [47] Muhammad: 17)
Tafsir
18

فَهَلْ يَنْظُرُوْنَ اِلَّا السَّاعَةَ اَنْ تَأْتِيَهُمْ بَغْتَةً ۚ فَقَدْ جَاۤءَ اَشْرَاطُهَا ۚ فَاَنّٰى لَهُمْ اِذَا جَاۤءَتْهُمْ ذِكْرٰىهُمْ ١٨

fahal
فَهَلْ
Then do
yanẓurūna
يَنظُرُونَ
they wait
illā
إِلَّا
but
l-sāʿata
ٱلسَّاعَةَ
(for) the Hour
an
أَن
that
tatiyahum
تَأْتِيَهُم
it should come to them
baghtatan
بَغْتَةًۖ
suddenly?
faqad
فَقَدْ
But indeed
jāa
جَآءَ
have come
ashrāṭuhā
أَشْرَاطُهَاۚ
its indications
fa-annā
فَأَنَّىٰ
Then how
lahum
لَهُمْ
to them
idhā
إِذَا
when
jāathum
جَآءَتْهُمْ
has come to them
dhik'rāhum
ذِكْرَىٰهُمْ
their reminder
Then do they await except that the Hour should come upon them unexpectedly? But already there have come [some of] its indications. Then how [i.e., what good] to them, when it has come, will be their remembrance? (QS. [47] Muhammad: 18)
Tafsir
19

فَاعْلَمْ اَنَّهٗ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنْۢبِكَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنٰتِۚ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ مُتَقَلَّبَكُمْ وَمَثْوٰىكُمْ ࣖ ١٩

fa-iʿ'lam
فَٱعْلَمْ
So know
annahu
أَنَّهُۥ
that [He] -
لَآ
(there is) no
ilāha
إِلَٰهَ
god
illā
إِلَّا
but
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
wa-is'taghfir
وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ
and ask forgiveness
lidhanbika
لِذَنۢبِكَ
for your sin
walil'mu'minīna
وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
and for the believing men
wal-mu'mināti
وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِۗ
and the believing women
wal-lahu
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
yaʿlamu
يَعْلَمُ
knows
mutaqallabakum
مُتَقَلَّبَكُمْ
your movement
wamathwākum
وَمَثْوَىٰكُمْ
and your resting places
So know, [O Muhammad], that there is no deity except Allah and ask forgiveness for your sin and for the believing men and believing women. And Allah knows of your movement and your resting place. (QS. [47] Muhammad: 19)
Tafsir
20

وَيَقُوْلُ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَوْلَا نُزِّلَتْ سُوْرَةٌ ۚفَاِذَآ اُنْزِلَتْ سُوْرَةٌ مُّحْكَمَةٌ وَّذُكِرَ فِيْهَا الْقِتَالُ ۙرَاَيْتَ الَّذِيْنَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ مَّرَضٌ يَّنْظُرُوْنَ اِلَيْكَ نَظَرَ الْمَغْشِيِّ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْمَوْتِۗ فَاَوْلٰى لَهُمْۚ ٢٠

wayaqūlu
وَيَقُولُ
And say
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
āmanū
ءَامَنُوا۟
believe
lawlā
لَوْلَا
"Why not
nuzzilat
نُزِّلَتْ
has been revealed
sūratun
سُورَةٌۖ
a Surah?"
fa-idhā
فَإِذَآ
But when
unzilat
أُنزِلَتْ
is revealed
sūratun
سُورَةٌ
a Surah
muḥ'kamatun
مُّحْكَمَةٌ
precise
wadhukira
وَذُكِرَ
and is mentioned
fīhā
فِيهَا
in it
l-qitālu
ٱلْقِتَالُۙ
the fighting
ra-ayta
رَأَيْتَ
you see
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
فِى
in
qulūbihim
قُلُوبِهِم
their hearts
maraḍun
مَّرَضٌ
(is) a disease
yanẓurūna
يَنظُرُونَ
looking
ilayka
إِلَيْكَ
at you
naẓara
نَظَرَ
a look
l-maghshiyi
ٱلْمَغْشِىِّ
(of) one fainting
ʿalayhi
عَلَيْهِ
(of) one fainting
mina
مِنَ
from
l-mawti
ٱلْمَوْتِۖ
the death
fa-awlā
فَأَوْلَىٰ
But more appropriate
lahum
لَهُمْ
for them
Those who believe say, "Why has a Surah not been sent down?" But when a precise Surah is revealed and battle is mentioned therein, you see those in whose hearts is disease [i.e., hypocrisy] looking at you with a look of one overcome by death. And more appropriate for them [would have been] (QS. [47] Muhammad: 20)
