Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Jathiyah Verse 17
Al-Jathiyah [45]: 17 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَاٰتَيْنٰهُمْ بَيِّنٰتٍ مِّنَ الْاَمْرِۚ فَمَا اخْتَلَفُوْٓا اِلَّا مِنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَاۤءَهُمُ الْعِلْمُ بَغْيًاۢ بَيْنَهُمْ ۗاِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِيْ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ فِيْمَا كَانُوْا فِيْهِ يَخْتَلِفُوْنَ (الجاثية : ٤٥)

Transliteration:
Wa aatainaahum baiyinaatim minal amri famakh talafooo illaa mim ba'di maa jaaa'ahumul 'ilmu baghyam bainahum; inna Rabbaka yaqdee bainahum Yawmal Qiyaamati feemaa kaanoo feehi yakhtalifoon(QS. al-Jāthiyah:17)
English / Sahih Translation:
And We gave them clear proofs of the matter [of religion]. And they did not differ except after knowledge had come to them – out of jealous animosity between themselves. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ. (QS. Al-Jathiyah, ayah 17)
Mufti Taqi Usmani
and We gave them clear proofs of the Matter (i.e. the religion). So they did not fall into disagreement out of mutual jealousy, but after the knowledge had come to them. Surely your Lord will judge between them, on the Day of Judgment, in the matters in which they used to differ.

We ˹also˺ gave them clear commandments regarding ˹their˺ faith. But it was not until knowledge came to them that they differed out of mutual envy.[[ No community split into believers and disbelievers until they received the knowledge given by their prophet. ]] Surely your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Judgment regarding their differences.

And We granted them Clear Signs in affairs (of Religion); it was only after knowledge had been granted to them that they fell into schisms, through insolent envy among themselves. Verily thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of Judgment as to those matters in which they set up differences.

We gave them clear directions in matters pertaining to religion. Yet they differed among themselves (not out of ignorance but) after knowledge had come to them; and they did so out of the desire to commit excesses against one another. On the Day of Resurrection Allah will judge among them regarding what they had differed.

And gave them a clear exposition of Our laws. And they did not differ until after knowledge came to them, through mutual jealousies. Verily your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Judgement in what they differed about.

And We granted them clear proofs concerning the affairs and commands of the Religion.; and it was only after all this knowledge came to them that they differed through envious rivalry and insolence among themselves. Surely your Lord will judge among them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that on which they used to differ.

And We gave them clear signs regarding this affair (of the advent of this Prophet). And they did not differ (about it) but after true knowledge (in the form of the Qur´ân) had come to them, (and this difference was) to spite one another. Behold! your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning all their differences.
English Literal
And We gave/brought them evidences from the matter/affair/order/command, so they did not differ/disagree/dispute except from after what came to them (from) the knowledge, oppression/transgression between them, that truly your Lord passes judgment/ends between them (on) the Resurrection Day in what they were in it differing/disagreeing .

And We gave them precise rulings. They fell into dispute only after knowledge came to them, out of mutual rivalry. Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection regarding the things they differed about.
Tafsir jalalayn
And We gave them clear illustrations of the commandment, the commandment of religion, in the way of what is lawful or unlawful, and the Mission of Muhammad (s), upon whom be the most excellent blessings and peace. And they did not differ, regarding his Mission, except after the knowledge had come to them, out of rivalry among themselves, that is to say, because of some rivalry that came about among them, out of envy of him. Surely your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that in which they used to differ.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
وَاتَيْنَاهُم بَيِّنَاتٍ مِّنَ الاْاَمْرِ
And gave them clear proofs in matters.
i.e. `We gave them evidences, proofs and unequivocal signs.'
فَمَا اخْتَلَفُوا إِلاَّ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءهُمْ الْعِلْمُ بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْ
And they differed not until after the knowledge came to them, through envy among themselves.
Therefore, the proof has been established against them, yet they differed among themselves after the proof came to them, out of transgression against each other,
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ
Verily, your Lord (`O Muhammad'),
يَقْضِي بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ
will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection about that wherein they used to differ.
He will judge between them by His just judgement.
Warning to this Ummah against following the Ways of the Children of Israel
This Ayah contains a warning to the Muslim Ummah as well. It warns them not to take the path the Jews took nor adopt their ways. This is why Allah said
