Al-Qur'an Surah Ad-Dukhan Verse 48

Ad-Dukhan [44]: 48 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

ثُمَّ صُبُّوْا فَوْقَ رَأْسِهٖ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْحَمِيْمِۗ (الدخان : ٤٤)

Transliteration:

Summa subboo fawqa raasihee min 'azaabil hameem (QS. ad-Dukhān:48)

English / Sahih Translation:

Then pour over his head from the torment of scalding water." (QS. Ad-Dukhan, ayah 48)

Tafsir jalalayn

Then pour over his head the torture of boiling water!', that is to say, the boiling water which is ever- torturous (this [use of `the torture of boiling water'] is rhetorically more intense than what is stated by the verse; boiling water will be poured over their heads [Q. 22;19]).

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

Then pour over his head the torment of boiling water.

This is like the Ayah;

يُصَبُّ مِن فَوْقِ رُءُوسِهِمُ الْحَمِيمُ

يُصْهَرُ بِهِ مَا فِى بُطُونِهِمْ وَالْجُلُودُ

boiling water will be poured down over their heads. With it will melt what is within their bellies, as well as (their) skins. (22;19-20)

The angel will strike him with a hooked rod of iron and split his head open, then he will pour boiling water over his head. It will go down through his body, melting through his stomach and intestines, until it goes through his heels; may Allah protect us from that.
