مِنْ فِرْعَوْنَ ۗاِنَّهٗ كَانَ عَالِيًا مِّنَ الْمُسْرِفِيْنَ ٣١
- min
- مِن
- From
- fir'ʿawna
- فِرْعَوْنَۚ
- Firaun
- innahu
- إِنَّهُۥ
- Indeed he
- kāna
- كَانَ
- was
- ʿāliyan
- عَالِيًا
- arrogant
- mina
- مِّنَ
- among
- l-mus'rifīna
- ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
- the transgressors
From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors. (QS. [44] Ad-Dukhan: 31)Tafsir
32
وَلَقَدِ اخْتَرْنٰهُمْ عَلٰى عِلْمٍ عَلَى الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ۚ ٣٢
- walaqadi
- وَلَقَدِ
- And certainly
- ikh'tarnāhum
- ٱخْتَرْنَٰهُمْ
- We chose them
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- by
- ʿil'min
- عِلْمٍ
- knowledge
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- over
- l-ʿālamīna
- ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
- the worlds
And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. (QS. [44] Ad-Dukhan: 32)Tafsir
33
وَاٰتَيْنٰهُمْ مِّنَ الْاٰيٰتِ مَا فِيْهِ بَلٰۤـؤٌا مُّبِيْنٌ ٣٣
- waātaynāhum
- وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُم
- And We gave them
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- l-āyāti
- ٱلْءَايَٰتِ
- the Signs
- mā
- مَا
- that
- fīhi
- فِيهِ
- in it
- balāon
- بَلَٰٓؤٌا۟
- (was) a trial
- mubīnun
- مُّبِينٌ
- clear
And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. (QS. [44] Ad-Dukhan: 33)Tafsir
34
اِنَّ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ لَيَقُوْلُوْنَۙ ٣٤
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- hāulāi
- هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
- these
- layaqūlūna
- لَيَقُولُونَ
- surely they say
Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, (QS. [44] Ad-Dukhan: 34)Tafsir
35
اِنْ هِيَ اِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا الْاُوْلٰى وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنْشَرِيْنَ ٣٥
- in
- إِنْ
- "Not
- hiya
- هِىَ
- it
- illā
- إِلَّا
- (is) but
- mawtatunā
- مَوْتَتُنَا
- our death
- l-ūlā
- ٱلْأُولَىٰ
- the first
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and not
- naḥnu
- نَحْنُ
- we
- bimunsharīna
- بِمُنشَرِينَ
- (will be) raised again
"There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. (QS. [44] Ad-Dukhan: 35)Tafsir
36
فَأْتُوْا بِاٰبَاۤىِٕنَآ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ ٣٦
- fatū
- فَأْتُوا۟
- Then bring
- biābāinā
- بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ
- our forefathers
- in
- إِن
- if
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you are
- ṣādiqīna
- صَٰدِقِينَ
- truthful"
Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful." (QS. [44] Ad-Dukhan: 36)Tafsir
37
اَهُمْ خَيْرٌ اَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍۙ وَّالَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْۗ اَهْلَكْنٰهُمْ اِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا مُجْرِمِيْنَ ٣٧
- ahum
- أَهُمْ
- Are they
- khayrun
- خَيْرٌ
- better
- am
- أَمْ
- or
- qawmu
- قَوْمُ
- (the) people
- tubbaʿin
- تُبَّعٍ
- (of) Tubba
- wa-alladhīna
- وَٱلَّذِينَ
- and those
- min
- مِن
- before them?
- qablihim
- قَبْلِهِمْۚ
- before them?
- ahlaknāhum
- أَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْۖ
- We destroyed them
- innahum
- إِنَّهُمْ
- indeed, they
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- were
- muj'rimīna
- مُجْرِمِينَ
- criminals
Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. (QS. [44] Ad-Dukhan: 37)Tafsir
38
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لٰعِبِيْنَ ٣٨
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- khalaqnā
- خَلَقْنَا
- We created
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- the heavens
- wal-arḍa
- وَٱلْأَرْضَ
- and the earth
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and whatever
- baynahumā
- بَيْنَهُمَا
- (is) between them
- lāʿibīna
- لَٰعِبِينَ
- (in) play
And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. (QS. [44] Ad-Dukhan: 38)Tafsir
39
مَا خَلَقْنٰهُمَآ اِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ٣٩
- mā
- مَا
- Not
- khalaqnāhumā
- خَلَقْنَٰهُمَآ
- We created both of them
- illā
- إِلَّا
- but
- bil-ḥaqi
- بِٱلْحَقِّ
- in [the] truth
- walākinna
- وَلَٰكِنَّ
- but
- aktharahum
- أَكْثَرَهُمْ
- most of them
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- yaʿlamūna
- يَعْلَمُونَ
- know
We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know. (QS. [44] Ad-Dukhan: 39)Tafsir
40
اِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ مِيْقَاتُهُمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ ۙ ٤٠
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- yawma
- يَوْمَ
- (the) Day of Judgment
- l-faṣli
- ٱلْفَصْلِ
- (the) Day of Judgment
- mīqātuhum
- مِيقَٰتُهُمْ
- (is) an appointed term for them
- ajmaʿīna
- أَجْمَعِينَ
- all
Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all – (QS. [44] Ad-Dukhan: 40)Tafsir
