Al-Qur'an Surah Az-Zukhruf Verse 85

Mufti Taqi Usmani

Glorious is the One to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and whatever lies between them. With Him is the knowledge of the Hour; and towards Him you are to be returned.

English Literal

And blessed who for Him (is) the skies`/space`s and the earth`s/Planet Earth`s and what (is) between them (B)`s ownership/kingdom , and at Him (is) the Hour`s/Resurrection`s knowledge, and to Him you are being returned.361

Tafsir jalalayn

And Blessed, Magnificent, be He to Whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; and with Him is the knowledge of the Hour, [of] when it shall come to pass, and to Him they will [all] be returned (yurja`na, may also be read [second person plural] turja`na, `you will be returned').

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

وَتَبَارَكَ الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالاَْرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا

And Blessed be He to Whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them,

means, He is their Creator and Sovereign, the One Who is controlling them with none to resist or oppose His rule. Blessed and exalted be He far above the notion of His having a child. He is eternally free of all faults and shortcomings, because He is the Lord, the Exalted, the Almighty, the Sovereign of all things, Who is in control of all affairs.

وَعِندَهُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ

and with Whom is the knowledge of the Hour,

means, no one knows when it will happen except Him.

وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ



and to Whom you (all) will be returned.

means, and each person will be requited for his deeds; if they are good, then he will be rewarded, and if they are bad, then he will be punished.
The Idols have no Power of Intercession

Allah exalted says,
