Al-Qur'an Surah Az-Zukhruf Verse 83

Az-Zukhruf [43]: 83 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوْضُوْا وَيَلْعَبُوْا حَتّٰى يُلٰقُوْا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِيْ يُوْعَدُوْنَ (الزخرف : ٤٣)

fadharhum
فَذَرْهُمْ
So leave them
yakhūḍū
يَخُوضُوا۟
(to) converse vainly
wayalʿabū
وَيَلْعَبُوا۟
and play
ḥattā
حَتَّىٰ
until
yulāqū
يُلَٰقُوا۟
they meet
yawmahumu
يَوْمَهُمُ
their Day
alladhī
ٱلَّذِى
which
yūʿadūna
يُوعَدُونَ
they are promised

Transliteration:

Fazarhum yakhoodoo wa yal'aboo hattaa yulaaqoo Yawmahumul lazee yoo'adoon (QS. az-Zukhruf:83)

English / Sahih Translation:

So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised. (QS. Az-Zukhruf, ayah 83)

So, let them indulge (in their fallacy) and play, until they face their Day that they are promised.

So leave them plunge into/engage in conversation (their wishful interpretation of the scriptures) and play/amuse , until they meet/find their day/time which they are being promised.

Tafsir jalalayn

So leave them to indulge, their falsehoods, and play, in this world of theirs, until they encounter that day of theirs which they are promised, chastisement in, and that is the Day of Resurrection.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُوا



So leave them (alone) to speak nonsense,

means, in their ignorance and misguidance,

وَيَلْعَبُوا

and play, (in their world),

حَتَّى يُلَقُوا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ



until they meet the Day of theirs which they have been promised.

which is the Day of Resurrection, i.e., then they will come to know what their end and destination will be on that Day.
The Uniqueness of the Lord

Allah exalted says,
