Al-Qur'an Surah Az-Zukhruf Verse 78
Az-Zukhruf [43]: 78 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
لَقَدْ جِئْنٰكُمْ بِالْحَقِّ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَكُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كٰرِهُوْنَ (الزخرف : ٤٣)
- laqad
- لَقَدْ
- Certainly
- ji'nākum
- جِئْنَٰكُم
- We have brought you
- bil-ḥaqi
- بِٱلْحَقِّ
- the truth
- walākinna
- وَلَٰكِنَّ
- but
- aktharakum
- أَكْثَرَكُمْ
- most of you
- lil'ḥaqqi
- لِلْحَقِّ
- to the truth
- kārihūna
- كَٰرِهُونَ
- (are) averse
Transliteration:
Laqad ji'naakum bilhaqqi wa laakinna aksarakum lilhaqqi kaarihoon(QS. az-Zukhruf:78)
English / Sahih Translation:
We had certainly brought you the truth, but most of you, to the truth, were averse. (QS. Az-Zukhruf, ayah 78)

(O disbelievers,) indeed We have brought to you the truth, but it is the truth that most of you detest.

Tafsir jalalayn
God, exalted be He, says; `Verily We brought you, O people of Mecca, the truth, by the tongue of the Messenger, but most of you were averse to the truth'.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
لَقَدْ جِيْنَاكُم بِالْحَقِّ
Indeed We have brought the truth to you,
meaning, `We have explained it to you clearly and in detail.'
وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَكُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَارِهُونَ
but most of you have a hatred for the truth.
means, `but your nature could not accept it and did not seek it; on the contrary, you followed and venerated falsehood, and you stood in the way of truth and refused it, and despised its followers.'
So they will blame themselves and will feel regret at the time when regret will not be of any benefit to them.
Then Allah says;
أَمْ أَبْرَمُوا أَمْرًا فَإِنَّا مُبْرِمُونَ
